a comment is also good because i think browser fed is not completely utilized or perfected

1= i wish it was perfected and mainstream

2= i like it better now

3 ill stay a download client based player

I prefer download for most softwares - especially the ones where you only have to download the games you actually want to play.
Though these days with faster broadband and better designed games for flash - there's not to much in it.

One thing I don't get, while we're on the subject, is WHY do MG casinos still apparently do a full download of all their games when you download a new casino, but when you actually go into a game, it seems to be re-downloading the whole thing again...

The problem with download casinos is that most only run on Windows. I switched to Linux years ago and will never go back to windows. The only disadvantage for me is that microgaming tournaments are only available via the download client. Apart from that and being unable to play a few of my old fav classic games, there's no real difference.

I always prefer the downloaded version.

When I play I don't just pound the keys, I make a little ritual out of it and when you start the downloaded version it's almost like you are going someplace to play. I'll double click the icon then maybe set up a nice cup of coffee, maybe a piece of pie, then I'm ready to play.

The flash version just seems kinda cheesey to me.

I prefer download Clients( I play Microgaming) cause i love to play more than only one game at once. You can pull a tab from the Casino Window(with pressed left mouse Button) of the Game on your Desktop and have a new Window.
Homemade Multispin ;) .

It does (yet again yesterday). Despite many requests for an answer, Microgaming just won't say WHY this happens. Operators, when asked, say they have no record of any trigger, such as a software upgrade, that would require the fresh downloading of existing games.

It's a problem for MGS because the excessive secrecy surrounding this issue makes it look like they are doing something that might be of concern to players. In almost every case though, there appears to have been no changes to the game or paytable, and it plays just as well, or just as badly, as before. It also seems to trigger corruption of the client on some occasions. Further, EVERY client does it upon launch, yet the games are in a common cache, so surely only ONE client needs to download the stuff.

Well actually, in my post that you quoted I was only talking about re-downloading the one game that I open.
e.g. Say I go to play "Thunderstruck" - I have to wait while it's "loading". Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it feels like it's loading by getting the required graphics data etc. from the MG server, and not from my hard-drive.

I could be wrong again, but as I remember it when Viper first came out the games opened almost instantly because all the required game data was coming from my computer's memory.
And like you say, I also remember all the games being "cached" somewhere, so when you downloaded a new MG casino it just grabbed the games from your hard-drive and definitely didn't download them all again.

And as for WHY they re-download old games... well I guess that will remain like Stonehenge - a mystery forever... :(

It downloads a selection of old games a few times a month. There IS a local cache, a very big one, so it should not be necessary to keep redownloading all the old games. It delays the start, and sometimes it causes the loading process to freeze and the game not to open. I note the cashier is also subject to frequent redownloading.

The main issue is that we have been lead to believe that MGS don't mess with the games once they have been released (unlike RTG), so this just shouldn't be happening. Repeated downloads also seem to damage the integrity of the software over time, and fixing it can mean reinstalling MGS casinos from scratch, along with the well over 10Gb cache.

Other software updates, but there is always a "read me" document with release notes summarising what the changes are for, and often an option to delay the update until a more convenient time.
