Suggestion Bring back POTM?

Hey Bryan and crew,

We used to have a Post Of The Month for years where the winner IIRC chose a charity to receive a CM donation.


I know you discussed bringing it back a while ago after all the site changes were done, but I think we all forgot about it.

It was a cool concept. Some really informative,clever, serious, funny and insightful posts were winners and everyone had a chance to read them when they might otherwise have kissed them.

Any chance of a comeback?

As for the idea itself, I think it's a good one.

Another forum I frequent has a POTW (Post Of The Week) system, whereby members nominate POTWs as the week goes on, and then every Friday afternoon a nominated forum member posts up the list of POTW nominations for the week in the style of their choosing, and then nominates who gets blessed/cursed with putting the list up for the following week.

I have a scan down the list every week, and it almost always throws up a few gems of threads/posts I'd missed.

I agree. When we upgraded the forum from vB 3.8 to 4.x the plugin that was used was disabled since it didn't work. Since this time, there have been other plugins developed which I will install in the very near future. Thanks for the reminder - this award system was pretty cool. For those of you who don't remember (or are unaware of how it worked) members who were awarded "posting of the fortnight" (it was every two weeks) were given the chance to choose a charity and I would donate $100 to it in the winner's name. It's something that we'll be doing again.

Good idea Nifty, i actually thought about it myself shortly after the change, but also forgot about it.
