Help! I first deposited my winning check of 900.01 on December 3rd. After waiting forever to get it in the first place. I have deposited many checks from Bodog in the past and never had a problem. Well, my bank bounced the check and sent it back to me with a note saying they charged my account. I have had my bank account 25 years and they are questioning this check. Scared me to death. I told Bovada about the situation and faxed all the information sent from the bank. Even the front and back of the check! They gave me the run around and swore the check was good and to deposit it in the atm again. I did not want to do this. Finally after getting nowhere with Bovada....I put the check again. Well, my account is negative again!! I don't know what to do! I am a loyal customer and always recommend Bovada to people. Please help!

It's obviously not good, else the bank wouldn't bounce it. A check bounces when there are no funds in the account it is drawn from. If Bovada thinks it is good, maybe they have been stitched up by their processor, and are about to find other players coming along to complain.

Without giving too much away, you can tell your bank the company it came from insists it is good and will not replace it. Ask your bank to explain EXACTLY what the problem is as you are considering legal action against the company who sent the check for non payment and fraud for "services provided" by you, or something similar.

It seems more usual for banks to put a check they are not sure about on hold, refusing to release the funds to you until they are sure the other bank has sent them. This would not involve them bouncing the check, just them telling you that you could not draw against it for some while, possibly a month or more.

It's possible that Bodava has had it's accounts frozen, but is yet to find out about it. They really should check first before insisting to players that the check is good. Not taking swift action will mean many more players having their checks bounced, and of course a far better trail for the authorities to follow, not to mention players deciding that enough is enough, and ditching Bovada altogether.

one check never cleared

I have been able to deposit checks to my bank. However I have one check that has never cleared. I am concerned and when I wrote to Bovada they just wrote me with blah blah blah. My bank asked for specific information from them which they have not provided.

Kind of confused here.
1) Did you deposit the check and it bounced later on? or did the bank not allow you to deposit the check because it looked funny?

2) I am not sure what kind of information the bank would be looking for. They either take the check as a deposit or not.

If a check has been deposited and it bounced, the bank may not want to deposit it again because of it being international ( I am assuming it is) The bank does have the right to refuse certain deposits. If its international the bank probably still gives you credit in a few days but an international check could take weeks to bounce which means you can take the money , the check comes back bad and now your account is negative.

Just clarify more details.

Update on my Bovada bounced check

I was contacted by a very nice rep from Bovada. She calls me with updates and is genuinely trying to help me. However, I am still waiting to find out what Bovada is going to do about this problem. My bank says it is not a good check and they are questioning me about it. I just want to get my money wired. I do not care if I pay fees. It seems this customer rep is working on that but it's just so hard because it's been 3 months since I requested payout and I still don't have the payout. I have been a player at Bodog and now Bovada for 5 years. I will update with any new news. Thanks for all the forum help.

it puzzles me why they don't send cash even if its broken up in smaller amounts if its a large amount

they send gold,silver,jewelery/diamonds etc via express mail receipt requested all day long 24x7x52

PS its insurable

i agree rockycatt and that's exactly why i started the other thread.I just would feel more comfortable if there was another way because 1it just seems to risky to accept checks right now.I hope this gets worked out.

Bovada fixed the problem UPDATE

I was given my tracking number today and they paid all the fees. My bank was part of the problem but Bovada and Jamie at Bovada came through and fixed everything. Thanks Bovada!!!
