In your opinion - which slots gives you the best build up / anticipation waiting for the bonus round to drop in?

I imagine there could be a lot of candidates for this but if I had to pick three I'd probably go for:-

Elements - love / hate....but its the build up which keeps me coming back.

Energoonz/Golden Ticket - seeing the setup and watching it drop in totalling up along the way!

Reel rush - fast forward the first three wins...then sit back. (On a separate note - anyone notice the pauses processing the reels like they stick when you've got a free spins setup).

Happy Sunday.

I have quite a few which excite me:

South Park - Stan free spins (potentially endless as long as you get a wild every 3 spins)
Evolution - Always praying for 3 or more Snail-Thingies on the first free-spin.
Gemix, Wizard Level - Hoping the sticky wilds will be in the right places to cause multiple repeating win combinations and get a BIG Supercharged win.
Plants v Zombies - hoping for the Cherry Bomb free-spins which can pay very nice!
Jack & the Beanstalk - of course, hoping to get to the expanding Harps - hit loads of them & get a mega-win! (Still waiting)
Wish Master - Praying for Extra cat wilds + two random wilds + expanding wilds all at the same time in the bonus spins.

For me its ghostslider by Merkur. I think away from germany most wont know it.Freespins build up like in elements with four avalanches.every further win gives additional 10 freespins up to 50. Its a ten liner with top-symbol paying x500 when 5oak. In freespins wilds on 2,3,4 reel are far more often hit and stacked,Freespins can be re triggerd same way in freespins.because of just 10 lines not easy to trigger them but very high potential

Not a bonus round as such but the 'Save a wild' on the MG untamed series still get me excited.

Having 4 maybe out of the 5 reels 'ready to pop' and seeing those wilds land exactly where you want them to is a right buzz, when it happens!

Had some MEGA wins when these games were first released, nowadays mostly a 'wild wipe out' tho :(

Love the 'crashing' sound as the diamonds drop in Raging Rhino too, in anticipation of re-triggers and wilds (which are usually on Dunover's screen not mine :p ) - Know its not long before I hear 6 'crashes' in the same spin

Mega Moolah wheel... any of them, especially when the major is high.

Immortal Romance Wild Desire, as the music starts and the blood flows across the top of the screen. It's a favourite slot, I've probably had hundreds of rounds. Only two four reel ones however.

Any of the Wheel of Wealth 3 reel slots.

It would have to be any game that has that possibility of endless retriggers or combinations, so for me the likes of Gonzo rates quite highly, or any rolling reel, multiplier- based bonuses. When they get going it's time to get the popcorn out and sit back.

The games that have the scatters on the first and last reel always get your attention, say Silent Samurai although that joy quickly dissipates when you get shafted on the bonus picks and end up with one spin at 2x multiplier for the third time in a row (tinfoil time)

DOA still is the purest rush, generally once the first three scatters drop and you hear "clink.............." and then nothing.

And the sticky wilds format is genius of course but the round has a set number of spins, barring the five extra and so holds your attention for a very short time so it's a bit love/ hate with this demon slot

Quite like the build up on WMS games although I don't partake often. Lancelot and its stacked reels was a lot of fun, Zeus etc

Love the 'SuperMode' on Hellboy too, doesn't happen that often but when it does it's great fun

for me it is.....

magic wand....wms getting a full screen of wilds.....oh yeah
jack and the beanstalk....although very rarely do i make it to the harps...
raging rhino.......another favorite
immortal romance.....
montezuma......had a fantastic win on that
nemos voyage....same as above
zeus.....always an old favorite.

DoA, Immortal Romance and Jurassic Park are probably the main ones for me, but there is another one that in my opinion is quite underrated for enjoyment: Montezuma, the very high chance of retriggers coupled with multipliers can get the blood pumping pretty badly as well (even if it doesn't really have the same potential as some other games).
Also one that hasn't been mentioned yet, Lucky Angler, while I'm still waiting for my first really big win on it it certainly grabs my attention when those scatters finally land.

I'd really like to give a nod to 3Dice's Stickshifter. It's proprietary, so if you don't play at 3Dice you haven't played it.

But you start with twenty spins, and you can retrigger with middle reel many times for 10 spins, each one taking you up a multiplier. Go more than x6 you engine will blow, and you lose any remaining spins. If you are at 4x and run out of those spins and drop back to 3x, you can retrigger for 4 times again.

My personal record for that slot was 140 spins I think, but that's far from record.

And they got they sounds right, and the timing.

Pretty decent hits are available for 5 of a kind even without a bonus round, 20 line slot.

The score of the upshift is brilliant IMO. It really helps builds anticipation when you move up to the next level.

Lol, ya, it IS a nail biter. You're at 6x and like 'nonononononononononononono, dont blow...whew'.

I nearly mentioned it!
But I didn't because it's SOOOOO frustrating: first because the scatters are very hard to hit, and second, because when they do finally hit the free-spins usually totally disappoint with just 1 or 2 extra wilds despite you screaming WILD WILD WILD!!! at the computer screen at the top of your voice!

I've only had more than 2 extra wilds ONCE - and that was over 2 years ago and it still only paid bet x161

When it first came out (Dec 2009) I had some pretty decent wins on it: I have 7 wins over x100 in my catalogue - but the last one is from 2010! Not that I played it very much after it seemed to die.

This was my best - Bet x312:

And this it what it looks like when your bloody engine blows up!

I agree though, there is great anticipation when you trigger the free-spins and it definitely deserves a mention in this thread!

Lucky angler has been out of this world for me over the last month. But I don't get the anticipation in the build up....in fact I'd say its a bit dull.

Likewise jack and the beanstalk being mentioned. I've never had a decent bonus round on that slot...ever...and they seem incredibly hard to get so I normally spend my time double clicking regular spins trying to force a free spins for inevitable disappointment.

I think for all my selections there is an element of build up rather then just dropping in which is what I was getting at in my original mail.

The wild reels feature of IR sounds quite good....the heartbeat music changes etc. Just a shame it's a slot I just cannot get on with.

DOA gets me excited for potential but I dont really care as its almost always a guaranteed pile of crap, immortal romance isnt that exciting either because its either throwing moderate paying features every 10-20 spins or its dead for 1000 and then pays nothing, its exciting when you choose amber and the sarahs start piling up but they are 1 in 500 bonus rounds. I enjoy some of the more basic ones like mythic maiden, had a 10x hit on a decent paying 5 oak recently, cashapillar is one the best features because the payouts turn huge with the 5x multiplier, so many good features on that and hardly any poor ones, its usually a guaranteed decent hit. Terminator 2 is exciting to see if your getting hot mode because then your guaranteed a massive payout, still evaded me despite hundreds of features.

There is something about the sounds and music that can create excitement.

I'm always happy to hit a bonus round, but some truly do a good job of creating excitement.

DOA has let me down so many times, I no longer get very excited. I have had a couple of decent bonus rounds, but that wildline eludes me still.

While the little intro music is a change, it doesn't pump you up all that much.

Does anyone remember a land based slot called Catch a Wave? During free spins all symbols changed to scatter pays, and it could retrigger a lot of times, all to the background of the Beach Boys.

I had a memorable 20 minute bonus round on it many years ago. Believe I won @$300 on a quarter spin I think, maybe it was 30 cents. I was "catching a wave, and sitting on top of the world".

Jackpot party was a good one too, as you yell NO POOPERS at the screen.

That sounds very similar to MG's Big Break - that has a surfing theme and also turns the 5 top-pay symbols into scatter pays during the free-spins; you can catch some pretty big wins on this baby!
Maybe they nicked the idea off the land-based slot... :p

Did i get it wrong, or did the thread-opener rather mean the "way to hit the Bonus" then the bonusround itself?
Like the wins in row at elements or the 7 (8?) wins at reel-rush he mentioned...
