Strangely enough I usually play 40p or 60p if I get the vibe. Tonight I just felt it was going to be a base game hit if anything. It went through my head that @pinnit and @nutnut seem to hit big base hits on higher stakes so I connected up the oxygen tank and went to 80p.

I had an evening of disconnections. It’s so annoying it becomes more of a chore than enjoyment. It happened in the base game early as you will see it didn’t play out properly with the red gems still there.

After that it played without much fuss until I hit the bonus. What is it about the bonus that makes it lose connection? It did it every time.

It probably accounts for 80% of my withdrawals. On most other slots you are relying on one big hit to be able to cash out. Last night I had 4 base hits around x50 and 1 at x75 what other slot consistently produces that? I had 3 bonus games 2 of which were rubbish and cashed £160 from £25 from a session that I call poor.

Take @pinnit2014 playing for a week and being in profit at the end of it without a huge hit. That’s the thing with Bonanza it’s consistent. Play virtually any other slot for a week without a big hit and you’ll be squealing like a piggy.

That’s the key thing as much as I love the slot I have learnt it’s traits as far as I can.

Discipline is the thing you need to play slots. Not easy to achieve but it’s a must. With Bonanza we know the average bonus is about x100 so there isn’t much point going beyond 75x stake because you are essentially chasing a bonus that will possibly only put you around even.

The reason we don’t see lots of huge hits is because it has so much rtp tied into the base game. It outstrips virtually every slot massively. Consider games like DOA etc they are all or nothing slots. Bonanza is a completely different game in actual fact I would say it’s a stand alone slot. No other game plays like it.

All Btg releases since have tried to emulate it and produce big wins but none of them are as popular as Bonanza I doubt. Why? Like I have said if you want bigger wins then you have to skim it from somewhere so the base game suffers and the middling bonuses x200-x500 become less frequent.

That’s why I call Bonanza the best balanced game.

I think for the reasons mentioned, Bonanza is certainly amongst the best games out there. Few games can boost a bankroll as quickly, I've lost count of how many times I've got from say £20 up to £100 in minutes.

Problem is pulling yourself away from it. You get a couple of good hits on it and you want to carry on the good times, it has a real hold on you like that.....even though it's blatantly not a 'session-ey' type-game.

So when disciplined with it = good

Anything more than 30 minutes = bad
