Yesterday I think I clocked bonanza...it's the 'tiktok' of slots. On paper it should be amazing but everyone I see using tiktok is scrolling similar stuff over and over because the algorithm is too perfect and it must end up boring but a habit.

I think bonanza is similar, amazing slot design but just way too complicated for what makes slots enjoyable for me. Ridiculous number of combinations and bonus average that's way too high. It just eventually led to too much thinking when playing and the fun of it just died the more I played it.

I've even ended up with 'bonanza brain' where I was playing DoA2/JATB yesterday and getting pissed off at the base game thinking will a bonus land. I hit a bonus on JATB and thought 'finally' then realised I'd been playing less than 10 mins and it was JATB not bonanza

Having a gripe is one thing but just making stuff up and then getting annoyed about it is quite another.

If you mean Bonanza is playing badly at the moment within the realms of its maths model and random variance then cool, it absolutely can (and will!) do that. But if you're veering off into the realms of some switch has been flicked to make it pay worse, or it's in a 'compensation phase' to take some money back, or anything like that, then no, that isn't happening.

I know from my own experience with plugging away relentlessly at 3Dice to achieve a 'jackpot win' on Dice Fusion (which took me months and months, and nearly 600,000 spins, to finally get a 4510x win), that random games can go on looooong upswings and downswings, in honesty longer than I'd previously have thought was possible.

We do have enough stats - (not just mine, but from other sources as well, it was all done in this threads a couple of hundred pages ago ) - to say that if anything has been changed, it's just the volatility of the feature, as all the other stuff is still the same. (Basegame churn and RTP, feature frequency, and average feature pay.)

All the other stuff, time of day, switching casinos, switching games, giving it 'this many spins to do thing x or y' is pure hokum and superstition. If people want to believe in any of it then fine, but it's up there with clutching a rabbit's foot and chanting to the gods of BTG in terms of making one iota of difference to anything.

Ladbrokes and coral must have one of the worst versions, as it spins at different speeds according to whether it's a winning spin or not, so even when a gol pops up if it arrives slowly you ain't getting the D, and you know you're not getting it.

But conversely if it arrives quickly, you still can't get the champagne out because it can just mean a small cascade win, and then on the next cascade after the animation slows down again to reveal no D.

This has to be the most prescient post and line for me in this thread after randomly landing around those pages googling bonanza. That's me right now! I've slowly been losing the fun of slots and first put it down to fatigue of playing them every evening and probably getting bored of it. But I can't even enjoy DoA2 recentlly for a short spin and that's what made me realise it must be something else because that's too weird, even bored or tired I love spinning that game!

It's not the 4 week losing streak I'm on or money because I had a couple of those before, one 4 weeks one 7 weeks and I've still got a pretty decent bankroll left I could play with.

It was going to happen at some point but I thought it would be more to do with bankroll, even put that in another thread but it's definitely bonanza has sucked all the joy out of it for me. Plus something that interested me is that there are a few members who mention quitting this slot around those pages and some of them have come back to it. Whether regularly or occasionally I don't know but it's interesting as I'd love to know what it is about bonanza that drew them back.

Once I hated or quit a slot I can't even give them 5 spins, Big Bass, Hacksaws, NLC etc. But I can see how bonanza has something about it that is intriguing enough to love/hate!

This has to be the most prescient post and line for me in this thread after randomly landing around those pages googling bonanza. That's me right now! I've slowly been losing the fun of slots and first put it down to fatigue of playing them every evening and probably getting bored of it. But I can't even enjoy DoA2 recentlly for a short spin and that's what made me realise it must be something else because that's too weird, even bored or tired I love spinning that game!

It's not the 4 week losing streak I'm on or money because I had a couple of those before, one 4 weeks one 7 weeks and I've still got a pretty decent bankroll left I could play with.

It was going to happen at some point but I thought it would be more to do with bankroll, even put that in another thread but it's definitely bonanza has sucked all the joy out of it for me. Not even sure why, I didn't even think it was a terrible slot just had a really different design and maths model with an annoying bonus frequency.

I saw that comment and laughed because that's what it is. Apathy is the perfect description.

Something about bonanza has killed any desire I have to play slots. I've been trying to figure it out since the start of the month why I've slowly found all slots really less fun including DoA2/JATB.

Your love for DOA2 and JATB, surprised me anyway as they are as bad as bonanza in some ways, yes DOA2 has potential to pay a monster but let’s be real 99% of players never get any of it.

JATB, like bonanza struggles to deliver over 1000x with any frequency, can take ages to bonus and give poor features, with lots of RTP in the base, due to the walking wilds.

So it really is no surprise to me that you have become bored of those, for me it was the surprise it didn’t happen sooner lol, had you not had the good win from JATB you probably would have lol

I completely agree tbh. I played a lot of different slots in 16 months and the rest I got bored or annoyed by eventually. It must sound like I only played those two because I mostly was by the time I joined here. I only found JATB in october, before that was rotating other slots a lot with DoA2.

After maybe the first couple months of playing slots I never really had any interest in the max wins. The odds were just too extreme for the return for me to care about chasing them and I started to look for slots with better base games and interesting features.

I think it's what made me like DoA2. I was eventually just playing to pass the time and DoA2 is a 9p slot that can give a hell of a lot of frequent wins that are near x or more and stretch the gametime, with decent bonus frequency as well often enough.

I didn't like it that much until I played train heist. After I started choosing that it became a more complete slot for me. It's a really fun bonus compared to the others for me.

JATB your right again! It's why I'd never really tell anyone to play it. But I love JATB for the mechanic. Something so simple as the 'random' walking wilds just adds enough novelty for me. The 3x walking wilds are just really fun and they can make for a long base game when they are landing.

The bonus round can give loads of spins subtly due to the walking wilds. They never do return much but it's fun to me. I've got a folder with 19 recorded bonuses and only one 100x. 11 are less than 30x, the others 39-79x

That's why I'm surprised. I understand quite a lot about bonanza's design and didn't even think it was a terrible slot for my purposes. I was even ok with the losses as I was testing it out and chasing the ridiculous bonus but something about it just made me slowly apathetic even when I started playing it like I do DoA2/JATB.

Who knows, maybe it was coming anyway and bonanza just helped speed it up. I do feel that there's something very interesting about the design of bonanza and I reckon there is a lot of research and thought into not only the maths model but the way the game is presented visually to the player. The sound too but I never play with it on!
