I really don't understand. I am playing blackjack on the same software in different casinos.. and while at one casino it's more like 50/50.. at the other one I feel like the dealer has a contract with god to receive only BJ, either that or an ongoing streak. And trust me this results don't come from one session of play.. but from MANY

do you happen to know if the software allows the admins to change the house edge or the payout for games like BJ?

As a sidenote you could also download the Camtasia screenrecorder tool to "tape" the session while playing. This way you have a little more to add to the table if a discussion should arrise on the topic. I know there are freeware tools aswell for screenrecording, Techsmith is sponsoring one of them I think.

The only way they could "change" the house advantage in the software is to add extra decks to the shoe, or change the rules that are unfavorable to the player (hit s17, split pairs only once, etc), or change the payout for player's blackjack to 6:5.

If they introduced a way to have blackjack only pay out a certain percentage, then the game would be no better than a slot machine and you wouldn't be playing blackjack anymore. IE: The outcome of hands would be pre-determined, no matter how you play the hand.

By the way, something which is highly probably if you think about it! It is very easy to do software wise, ajousting what cards to give to player and dealer!

You're right; both online and off.

I'm still investigating whether or not the 'electronic' blackjack games in several offline slots parlors deal a legitimate game of blackjack or not. I have a feeling that they're set to the same % as slot machines...which would mean you're not playing blackjack at all.

If I find out that's true, I'm going to file a complaint with the gaming control board here in PA because that information is NOT listed on the games themselves.

It's a HUGE difference when you think about it. 9% house advantage vs. an expected 1% or so....

so aren't they legally obliged to disclose this information to the public?

Offline? Yes, they are....or I would think they would be obligated to do so.

Whether it's a live dealer or a electronic machine, if I sit down to play blackjack, that's what I expect to play....not a slot machine.

I've always wondered why I never had ONE winning session (out of about a dozen before I quit going) playing the electronic blackjack games at Harrah's casino in Chester, PA; but I now know why.......there's no way it could be a real game of blackjack.

Sorry for the derail. I started a new thread about these machines:

As a matter of interest, which software are you talking about here?
(If you don't know, please name the casinos)

Ta!

Electronic blackjack often offers few splits, hits on soft seventeen, and paying 1:1 for blackjack if you only have one coin bet, and rotten terms for surrender.

Remember, both online and VLT blackjack games shuffle the deck(s) after every hand. This action favours the house.

What I find most disturbing are the casino's that ban players for playing correctly. Something you can purchase on a laminated card in most casino gift shops.

Yes, I understand that..check out the other thread I posted above....I go into more detail :)

it goes both ways...

You have a higher probability of hitting blackjack if you play classic blackjack with no hole card for example, but the dealer also has the same higher chance :)
Take it like this,if the dealer shows an ace and there is no high cards taken out of the deck that means the dealer has more chances to hit blackjack!

That's European blackjack, not classic. ;)

Offline? Yes, they are....or I would think they would be obligated to do so.

For example,

Old / Expired Link

I should point out that the "Win Percent" column is what's known as the "hold" -- it is not the house edge. The house edge is known by theoretical computations (available, for example, at www.wizardofodds.com ) and there is no need to restate what is already known.

One other comment. Individual casinos in NV are under no obligation to publically report the data on their gaming operations beyond that which appears as aggregate in the report cited above.

 Errrr? Hang on a minute, in your first post you said:-

So was it the same software or not?
If so, which; PlayTech or Net Entertainment?

lately I have been playing on 2 casinos using netent.. and one seems fair while the other doesnt

but after reading your post I remember it happened this to me a while ago on bet365 and grosvenor as well.

sry for the confusion

but even so my main question is if someone happens to know if the outcome of BJ sessions can be influenced by the casino. It's strange nobody knows to answear to this question, as I've seen around here legal representatives and lawyers as well. I'm sure eCOGRA must know these details. Actually I'm going to write them an email right now and ask them

write them a letter

you will get a "it all good" reply from ecogra, even if we had absolutley, hard undisputable evidence these games are a little left of centre, you would be hard pressed to get any authority to act, they make to much money from it.

as for someone knowing if some casinos are rigged, I think the first employee to speak out about it would find himself/herself having a nasty accident for squeeling, it a grubby industry, grubby unecessary industry i should say.

That's very useful information...:)

But in regards to my quote, I was referring to whether or not the casino should be obligated to tell players if they're playing a real game of blackjack, or if it's just another slot machine, when they sit down at an electronic blackjack "table."

I didn't want to derail the thread anymore, so I posted more details at: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/table-master-electronic-blackjack-machines.27607/
