What with a milestone birthday rapidly approaching (50th on 24/06), I thought it a good idea to gently remind the promo/bonus teams at my regular casinos of my impending half a century status.

My replies.......

GoWild = Not only did I receive a NDB of £30 (twice), I also had a generous deposit bonus on top of the daily deposit bonus, on my 1st NDB I managed a cashout of £200 which I spent on a new phone, that I haven`t a clue how to use - wtf is an android? lol. 100/10

Ladbrokes = After my bleakest run ever there (20+ deposits ranging between £20 - £100) before a very modest payout, it was deemed I am not a VIP hence no birthday bonus, hell a few free spins wouldn`t put to much of a dent in the 1k+ profit they have made from me this year, but at least they wished me happy birthday. 1/10

Purple Lounge = I`m assured there will be a little something in my account on my actual birthday, guess i`m lucky here as PL is also celebrating their birthday this month. 8/10.

Virgin = The very 1st casino I joined many years ago and the home of some of my biggest bet size to win ratios, no reply. 0/10.

Vegas Partner Lounge group = Okay I haven`t deposited much at all with them this year (apart from Aspinalls), I get a happy birthday wish but sorry no bonus, again i`m pretty confident that they made more than they lost with me. 2/10.

Fortune Lounge group = My one time favourite group and had a fair slice of cash from me in my heyday (Desert Dollar being the one that on a few occasions made me more than smile), sorry but you have not deposited for a long time but happy birthday anyway, thanks for the memories. 3/10.

Casino Rewards group = Hahahaha, didn`t even bother contacting these, damn shame the way they lock your loyalty points account after a big withdrawal, mine was at Zodiac shortly after my biggest ever poker hit, £1510 from Cyberstud for 4 sixes on a £16 bet. 0/10.

Sky Vegas = Another UK brand and once again, one of the 1st casinos I joined, no reply. 0/10.

3Dice = I haven`t deposited with these for a bit and tbch I haven`t contacted them yet, but, if anything like my real cash xmas present bonus i`m going to give them 10/10 anyway for their sheer player to customer relationship ;).

32Red group = The only group of casinos I regularly play at these days, after a brief chat with a CS girl whom disappointedly informed me that 32Red don`t do birthdays, she buffed my loyalty points up to the magic redeem rate and thus giving me a birthday bonus, like stated previously, it isn`t the scale of the bonus but that special little something that you are important/worthy enough of a special treat <3. 10/10.

Well, that`s about it, like I say, normally my birthdays go past without a mention, but chalking up 50 years is a bit of a special one, isn`t it?;).

You know i hate when noone from those casinos dont treat you like you deserve.
It happens to me also and you know what i do....
I go to live that and i talk respectively with ladbrokes and betsson customer support which says to me we do not " wish happy birthday :p " and we do not give birthday bonuses.....and my question was REALLY ???.....this big reputable operators dont do nothing for their customers in that special day....then i asked, come on , give me something free cause i cant deposit also.....
1.Ladbrokes gave to me 30 free spins on tombraider like an exception..( thank you ladbrokes ) and
2.Betsson gave to me exactly 2.40 $ voucher code.....

I think, goddd... these casino EATS our money and when you ask something free they cant give you something that really means just because are scared of our wins....

Happy birthday and wish to all players ONE JACKPOT FOR EVERY SINGLE PLAYER....at every casino if is posible.... :)

I wouldn't expect much UNLESS I deposited a reasonable amount at a particular casino. Don't expect much from Ladbrokes, they are absolutely horrid when it comes to comps or the like. You can spend a fortune there, but they wouldn't give a hoot :). You must deposit over $7k a month with them to be a 'VIP'

My Birthday is in 3 Months time and I have made decent deposit amounts at varied MG casinos.

My last Birthday comp was about $150 from 3Dice but I was thoroughly disappointed with their Christmas 'Gift' to me. It was the thought that counted in the end, but I felt insulted when a box of marmalade was couriered to me after losing over $15k in a 4-5 month period.

In the end... the saying 'He who expects NOTHING, shall not be disappointed' remains true. ... I have learned not to anticipate anything spectacular irrelevant of the amounts I have deposited... this was of course after seeing how much I was valued as a player :)

Thanks to iNetBet-Rushmore and LuckyRed

I got $20 from each for my Birthday. Especially a big thanks to Emily I have not been able to dep there in a while due to the QT issue.

Believe it or not, the Rival casinos were actually tops in dishing out birthday ND bonuses as the system captured your birth dates and automatically inserted a freebie in your cashier(provided you were bonus-eligible of course)

..... but not using Neteller or Moneybookers, or they will assume you have deposited 7k purely to "abuse the VIP system", and you will STILL get nothing. You will also have to turn over that 7k 20x to be eligible for ANYTHING.

Very few players have that kind of MONTHLY limit on their credit cards, so this VIP system is far more exclusive than it looks.

If Neteller counted, I would have NO problem becoming VIP at Ladbrokes;)

THIS is what they have been missing out on for around 3 years of their "we hate all Neteller players" attitude.

I`m positive that some bonus they gave last year sometime had the w/r reset after I rang up customer support and moaned about it, the guy I spoke to was roughly the same age as me and was also an eastender and ardent West Ham fan like me, not sure if this had anything to do with it, but I chatted with him for ages lol, so there we have it, if you`re a cockney born and bred (born within hearing distance of the chimes of bow bells) and support WHUFC you can get the w/r lowered on Neteller deposits that give a bonus ;).

It's no good having that hidden away, there needs to be some indication that they are flexible with this, without giving too much away. They don't even exclude UK players from this nasty term, whereas many other UK facing operators offer special deals that ONLY apply to UK players.

Ladbrokes seem to have taken the view that any player that uses an eWallet is a "bonus abuser", and any player that uses a credit card is not. This does not seem to be a view that they are prepared to change, even for a regular player.

It is also a pretty stupid one, because those interested in "abusing" the bonuses will be the FIRST to change to a different qualifying deposit method, since qualifying for the bonuses would be their ONLY priority, and they would suffer the inconvenience of not being able to use their eWallet in order to be able to carry on "abusing the bonuses".

Ladbrokes are not even honest about this, and no-one from CS is prepared to discuss just WHY they have such a problem with Neteller, and why what was supposed to be a "temporary measure" has been in place for over 3 years.

Oddly enough, Neteller is a UK based company, and use a subsidiary "Neteller UK" to provide an FSA regulated (if only lightly) service to players. Credit card issuers on the other hand are trying to discourage their use for gambling, and Mastercard blocks almost ALL gambling transactions made over the internet.

Neteller and Moneybookers were set up specifically to serve online gambling, and so will NOT randomly block gambling transactions as can happen with cards.

Of all the cards I have tried, ONLY Barclaycard works smoothly and reliably for online casinos, however my account is classed as "high risk", and has been put on 30% APR because I use the card almost exclusively for online gambling. Cards I do NOT use for gambling are at between 17% and 20% APR, pretty normal for someone of my circumstances.

For everything else, a Barclaycard is the WORST card to use, as it is the most expensive, and offers the least in the way of cardholder benefits.

I have often been tempted to reinstall Ladbrokes and use the Barclaycard, but have so far resisted, especially when they stopped adding new games in December, and looked like jumping ship from Microgaming altogether.

I think you missed the humouress side of my reply bud :p, and just a thought, why use a credit card and pay fees when you can use a debit card?.

I think the probem is you are not registered to the correct casinos regarding this aspect. Join the William Hill Group or the GGN Casinos, and they will give you the bonus. Also the same refers to the Casino Tropez group.

Interestingly anyway, during the years my birthday bonus amount decreased again and again. In 2008 I got a ton of birthday bonuses, the next year I got few compared to that, last year I hardly got any from most of the casinos. Maybe it is in connection with the economical crisis??? :)

Anyway, let me mention some great experiences regarding this topic, I guess this is the right place for that. Last year Mansion Casino was one of the rare few who credited me a birthday bonus. I never deposited at theirs, moreover I had already received 2 ND bonus from them, one of which was 50 EURO, so it was a great surprise that it was them who sent me birthday bonus. The next surprise came when it revealed that the bonus carries 1x wagering requirement, and I am not sure, but maybe the bonus was withdrawable. To evaluate this in a funny way, if casinos care about the sipirit of bonus use, they should also care about this case, because this shows what 'spirit of birthday' means. They could learn that from this case, because surely a bonus with 100x WR and a ton of limitations is not a spirit of birthday bonus.
