I don't know if this is good or bad news it depends whos now running it but Mr Smith is being re-branded as Vernons!!

Yes, Vernons that primarily Playtech casino nobody seems to mention any more...Not sure how I feel about this? What does everyone else think?

No wind up buddy...I know as Mr smith sent me an e-mail asking to do surveys on the new site design it will be 1 of 3 designs with the Vernons logo. I kid you not! Here are the logo designs

I liked all ye old download Playtech casinos, and played at Vernons quite a bit. Predominantly with freebies, mind.

They'd like to chuck the odd tenner here and there, and I've had a few good sessions there.

I don't expect this re-branding to be just Playtech though, so the nostalgia only stretches so far. Don't care much for MrSmith or many multi-platform sites so it won't be the same

Thanks for the heads up Dave

An anomaly was detected back on the 5th of August when 'Vernons' appeared to have both a active BML and NetPlay licence. I put it down to the mess which is the UKGC database. Until a few weeks ago PKR was still licensed

Not affecting me personally, I won't promote either and wouldn't put a penny in Vernons with the scam jackpot rule anyway. Did play at MrSmith once upon a time when sister site to Betsafe.

Hated Playtake for years and Mr Smith n co bonus banned me (even tho heavily in the minus) years back so I voted with my wallet.

Because I can't see a company like BML selling off one of their sites, and Vernons has been added to the BML license, Not the other way around

I don't get why they would go to the trouble of renaming Mr Smith to Vernons. Both are established, well-known brands, so why not keep both?

That said, the Betsson Group did this once before. when they renamed Harry Casino to Mr Smith in 2014.

That was an "aggressive take-over" as far as I know - they guys at Harry Casino were seriously pissed (and out of a job) when that happened.

That's a merger, not a re-branding.

Either way, it makes my job easier - one LESS casino to promote!
(Never promoted Vernon's and Mr Smith is a waste of space, along with the other BML casinos).

In the survey where I found out about it, it literally said re-branding as Vernons casino KK. Just going by the email I got.

It also explains a lot though as IIRC Harry casino was a pretty decent set up and Mr Smith is a pile of shit.

I don't understand the animosity towards Mr Smith. Only been playing there recently and never had any issues. Payments are super fast (last one was 30 minutes into my Skrill account) and they quite often have decent promotions such as 100 wager free £1 spins on Bonanza on a £200 deposit.

My personal gripe is if you take too many of their offers then down comes the ban hammer, regardless if your at a lifetime loss with them. - When speaking with them regarding this (IIRC) they did not come across as being very low roller friendly at all (never have and never will be able to take offers such as you describe)

Also (long time back now) personal experience over CS was super slow (long waiting times on chat, super delay over email responses)

Seems to have a knock on effect quite easily as my very nice (scarce but nice) offers at Betsafe also seem to vanish around the same time!

Others maybe have not (and hopefully won't) suffer as I did but these are my personal reasons for no longer touching this group.
