Betting Your Life Savings on Red!!

This came up on my Twitter ( X ) Feed this morning. Ashley Revell in 2004 travelling to Vegas to put his entire life savings on Red on a roulette table!!!

Apparently he sold up everything he had for the ultimate gamble.

Yes so I heard. according to his Wiki page it closed in 2012. Plus his gamble was the focus of a Sky One documentary covering him.

It looks just like a staged 2000s TV show. But man, the plot is so mind-blowing and intense, my heart completely skipped a beat.

Not staged, but turns out if rumours are true, that he was paid enough to feature in a documentary to cover his bet. So even if he had lost, he would basically have walked away losing zero!!

Even so, piqued my interest when I saw it this morning!

Yeah I remember this.

After returning home from the roulette bet in 2004, Revell took a motorcycle trip around Europe during which he met his future wife in Holland.

I recall reading about him on the 2+2 forums many years ago. Insane, but as Webczas points out, he had other lucrative things going on. Thanks for the blast from the past.
