Best way to discipline yourself whilst withdrawals are processed

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd throw this up here and see if anyone has any novel or clever ways of disciplining themselves whilst waiting for a withdrawals.

As we all know, many casinos have limits on withdrawals, and periods whilst a withdrawal is processed during which they can be reversed, and played again. My personal situation is that I've hit the monthly withdrawal limit for a casino, but hit a jackpot again with what was above that withdrawal limt.

What I was hoping for was some tips on how to be cautious and not gamble away the amount that I've won. And I've tried sitting on my hands, it just doesn't cut it! :p

This is something i always lack control in:o I have decided next time if i hit a big win, i'll just throw my puter out the window and when my winnings come in, hell i'll buy a new one:D...............laurie

That's one idea....though it would really mess with my work commitments, which also use the same computer!

I'm thinking maybe doing all my work at the library, and locking the pc in the airing cupboard might be a plan.

I have a bad habit of reversing withdrawals and losing too - so lately I ask to have the withdrawal flushed so I can't touch it - plus it gets the money in my account a day quicker. Most casinos will do this, but there are a few who don't, if I happen to win at one who doesn't flush I either play somewhere else or find something else to do - I won't even go back into the casino I won at til I know the withdrawal can't be reversed.

See the waiting is what kills it. If they payment processors were on the ball we would not have to play it back. Its simple either uninstall the software and delete the executable file because we can always install it back. Or not touching your computer for a day and watch TV or play a video game on your TV!. Talk on the telephone call RobWin he will tell you about the Monkey Balls video:D:D:D. Take a walk to your neighbors house, but make sure they are not gambling either. Just don't touch that computer now if you break it there is no way you'll find out if you got paid or not..right...

Hiya: There are 2 basic ways to pass the time in an acceptable manner, imhop.

1. Have a second Casino downloaded, with around $50-$100 in it. S......L.....o......w.......play this with the Min bet allowed. This means a much shorter play time, but more often. Log in, Play at bit, Log out. A few hours later, repeat, and before long your withdraw at the main casino is in your Bank acct.

2. And/or, you need something else to do. Play a Video Game, go shopping, work in the yard, or best of all, "Make a promise, "To Yourself/loved one, what you won, and not to withdraw it, or reverse it".

In either case, this is easier to do, if, You have a plan for the winnings. If not, make one. Save it, buy something, pay down a visa card, open a savings account at the bank, and so on. Having a commitment for the money that is on the way, helps you keep the money, "On the Way"........

When I have a withdraw sitting there I put it out of my mind . I shut it off and don't consider it playable. I don't keep checking it either ....that's the worst thing you can do !
Pick up a book or just get out of the house if you have to .

I have a laptop and pc....for work...so i put the casino's on the laptop....use the pc for work..that way...i JUST DO NOT TURN ON LAPTOP!!! that way..i can stay away till it's out.

(i will admit...doesn't always work.LOL)

if its a fortune lounge casino you can have them transfer some of it to there other sister casinos ,

i wonder if other casinos would do the same ?? also maybe put a note on your desk top saying please dont give in to temptation :p

Thanks guys, hopefully I can keep my will strong and keep my hands out of the cookie jar! I've plumped for rocky's suggestion....I have a post it note on the monitor saying "Don't be an Idiot!" for the upcoming period.

Also, it's paying for a holiday and contributing towards a new car next year, so a bit of visualisation might e useful too!

Big thanks again!

I'm holding out on temtation right now. I have $1,000 waiting to be processed to my bank. But of course it's the same place I ALWAYS HAVE PROBLEMS WITH!!! They denied my bank statement (even tho I have had playments from them before, I had to resend) So I have to hold out longer than normal until I can get a utility bill from my husband, he's been at work all day.

Sooooo anyway...what I did (since the money was there early yesterday morning and I'm here all day alone) is make a list of things we need and SHOW my husband with the cost of those items. The items I listed came up to about $600 (main things are school clothes for daughter, and new sneakers for the whole family, and a Wii that I have been DYING to get :D ) and giving my husband $200 doesn't leave me much.

I also took a nap today, but that only blew about an hour of the day...so I just pretend in my head I have no money to play and think about all the things we need/want....and the most important not having my husband have that look on his face when I do play back the money...This time I'm not touching it outta spite :p he told me, "you will play it all back"

All RTG casinos have the ability to freeze a transaction if requested. Once frozen, there is nothing you can do. Of course, it is up to the operator to do this or not.

Well, whilst waiting to be paid by some RTG's, I read Dante's "Divine Comedy" from start to finish - then take a tour round the world... In a balloon. With my mate Phileas Fogg.

The best idea read on here was a chap who changed his password to a big long string of numbers and letters. Printed it off - then drove 40 miles to a storage place where he left it until his withdrawal had cleared.

Drastic, but effective I should imagine.

I have a rather more novel way of coping with this dilemma in that I'm simply unable to find the withdraw button in the first place. Ever. Seriously... It's tragic.

At least I never have to worry about waiting...

Or shop on ebay. Looking for bargains can take hours. Then allot the winnings to purchases and consider it spent.

My best advice is to fill your mind with something else than gambling. If you are just sitting there surfing or whatever on your PC it is way to easy to just log in and reverse a little bit of the withdrawal for a little bit of action. Then you have it going...

So my best advice would be:

1. Do something else.
2. NEVER reverse even a dollar from a withdrawal
3. Ask for the withdrawal to be flushed, some casinos don't allow this, play at the casinos that do

Yes, that idea is genius IMO. I'm gonna try it, maybe not drive that far, but something like that. I use to make up a password and let my husband choose two or three numbers. Turns out you guys are way too easy. Just the slightest hint of something you want, and you sing like a canary:rolleyes:

OP, you can do it! We can make you accountable for it if you want. Commit to posting everyday on what you are doing not to reverse. We will anxiously await:)

99% of time if you reverse you will lose all.....

It is to their advantage to allow 24 to 48 hours for you to reverse because chances are you will lose all or most.

Just think of this "if I reverse, they win". " a reverse equals a loss".

Maybe it is just coincidence by I swear, once you meet playthrough, the wins seem to stop and once you reverse you lose!

After having made the painful experience of reversing and losing considerable amounts several times, I stick to the following: Always keep some funds in several casinos, like 10-20 dollars. In a case of a bigger withdrawal then switch to one of those casinos and lowroll there. When I have a withdrawal of 1000 or more, I divide it in one bigger and one or two smaller fractions. In case the balance reaches zero, I reverse the small fraction and play. Apart from that, its quite simple: Willpower instead of greed!

Cheers Balky
