I'm heading to Barcelona today to attend the European Interactive Gaming Congress and later in the week the Casino Affiliate Programs Euro conference.
I'll be meeting up with a number of casino operators, marketing people, software providers and developers, etc.

If there are any questions you guys have - or comments - please post them here. Thanks!

I will be catching up on my linear regression analysis while you are in Spain:D..........."Have a good one"

To software providers:
Same as the last 3 years: Make the software platforms able to handle the different bonus-systems so the customers does have to read the T&C daily before pressing any buttons when playing with a bonus.

This applies mostly to RTG and Playtech, but there are now some MG operators that are also making up wierd bonuses while having the
software handle it as ez/clearplay which it is not.

To casino operators:
Make bonuses that the software can handle.

To MG software developers:
Only download the games that the user actually has clicked on! (bloated MG installation)

To MG: What zoozie said

To Ecocard/Quicktender: what's with the "invite only" nature of Quicktender accounts?

To Click2pay: When are you just going to give up on serving US customers completely, instead of the half-assed manner in which you're currently doing it?

To Neteller: How bad does it really hurt?

Dont forget to talk to VILLENTO while you are in Spain. Also give JF a kick in the ass from me.Pawprints:thumbsup:

hey cm, do owners of groups like virtual or any of the really bad ones show up or do they even send reps and if they do don't the reputable groups get all over their asses for causing rtg such a bad name?

How did I miss this??

1. How many affiliate groups are pushing White Label casinos, who are they, and how many WL are there
out there already?

2. What do the industry folks think about the new UIGEA proposed rules just released? Old / Expired Link

3. Is AP going to pull its head out of its posterior and present more information about the current chip dumping, etc. controversy?

That's all I can think of off the top of my head at 5 am.

Have an enjoyable and safe trip, Bryan.

Hi CM - tel A Duffy from casino for me to stop walking around pretending he's Irish, he's french - us Irish have standards you know!! :)

Regards,

Yeah - tell those operators who have terms like this - 'If you withdraw before having reached the minimum wagering requirements, your bonus and winnings will be void.' that people sometimes forget, or can't keep track of their wagering, or are stupid (but you wonder how many of these places know this quite well already, when writing these clauses)..and that it's theft basically to just not instead return the funds to the account, and make the customer continue wagering.

It was a great trip, and I got quite a bit accomplished - but of course there are always a number of people that just can't be tracked down since a) I might be busy with someone else or b) they're busy with someone else :D

Nevertheless - I touched bases with a lot of people.

Good points - unfortunately I ran out of time before meeting up with MGS. Most everyone else was there, and I'll keep hammering away at these topics during and away from conferences :D

Didn't see these guys.
To Neteller: How bad does it really hurt?
As far as I can tell - it hurt, but they are still very viable. They had a strong presence at the conference. And they've just released a new MasterCard/ Globewallet card. They are on the verge of launching an affiliate program as well. I spoke with the CEO and even though the whole US situation was a nightmare, and that mistakes were made, they are well positioned now and on the right track.

To RTG: Knock-knock - anyone home? Do you have any idea what your licensees are doing to players these days?
Yes, someone is home. They clearly understand the severity of how some of the "cowboy" operators (you know who you are) are affecting the business of the "good" operators. I've made a couple of more contacts that will streamline some of the serious complaints I've received. The Hastings thing has not been abandoned and will hopefully come into operation in the very near future (yeah, I know :D); it's been way slower than they have thought it would be. But in a nutshell, if players would learn to not patronize rogue casinos, there wouldn't be much of a problem.

Done.

hey cm, do owners of groups like virtual or any of the really bad ones show up or do they even send reps and if they do don't the reputable groups get all over their asses for causing rtg such a bad name?
Yes, they do. Amit, the general manager from Virtual usually shows up. I've had a number of pow-wows with him. They've rarely ever had booths, but I'm sure they meet up with the webmasters who sell traffic. No affiliate with scruples would even consider pushing these guys. I missed Amit this trip, but I did run into one of their ex-employees who shared some interesting experiences with me :D

How did I miss this??

1. How many affiliate groups are pushing White Label casinos, who are they, and how many WL are there
out there already?
Hard to say. Most casino groups will only give White Labels to "super-power" companies (Yahoo, Dell, etc), and I think that most casino groups understand the player concerns - especially with what happened with Playershare - with transparency.
2. What do the industry folks think about the new UIGEA proposed rules just released? Old / Expired Link
Many of the people I met are not concerned with this since they don't deal with US traffic. Most everyone else seemed nonplussed. I guess they feel it's relatively non-enforcable. They UIGEA hasn't stopped most US players from playing.
3. Is AP going to pull its head out of its posterior and present more information about the current chip dumping, etc. controversy?
I met up unexpectedly with one of their aff managers while I was leaving for the airport. He was unaware of being in the roguepit and was going to look into this right away. I'll probably hear back from him this week. :D

Seriously Tristan, why do you think they have this rule here? Casino operators can tell when a player makes a mistake, and in most cases they will let it slide and let the player continue playing. But when they deal with players like you, you get 86ed. :D

More in this week's newsletter
