Auto-Play vs. Single Clicks! (MG)

Taking the idea from another thread, I thought this would make an interesting subject because I've always noticed a peculiar pattern when using auto-play compared with single-clicking. Here's my quote from another thread.......

" I find that on T-Struck and the clones, when I use 5 or 10 spin auto, it will 90% of the time hit the bonus on either the first or last spin if it's going to come in at all. On Mega-Moolah, the spin bonus comes in on the last spin of auto-play almost everytime if it's going to hit. Seems like that shouldn't be so in a random game. Although I have my suspicions about this, I find it too tiresome to do single clicks for thousands of spins... so I almost always press the spin 5 times button."

What are your thoughts and experiences? :)

I mainly use autoplay though recently I have been doing a fair few single click sessions too...til i get bored :) I have noticed that the last spin before i run out of money seems to be the money shot normally - dont ask me why.

Autospinning is essential to my strategy else I have to count manually and it only needs the phone to ring or someone to IM me and I'm stuffed. Memory of a goldfish me :) Memory of a goldfish me :) It only needs the phone to ring or someone to IM me and I'm stuffed. Memory of a goldfish me :) I mainly use autoplay.....

I ca'nt think of any reason a Casino would want the software to treat autoplay any differently to manual or any reason the Software would run differently. So I have to believe there is no difference.

I agree with your statement but find that in actuality my previous observations hold true in my experiences.

The tell tale signs of many hours of manual slot clicking :D

I would be scared if autoplay indeed had an advantage over clicking for every single spin. That's a definite sign of a rigged game. Or, on the other hand, maybe with autoplay, the seeds generated for the RNG are similar, which has something to do with the payout? No idea ;)

I've heard several last spin stories along those lines. For example, Gaahl's $2000+ Thunderstruck win on the final spin before running out of money, after having played hundreds of spins and lost $1000+ to the game.

Or, maybe it's just more memorable to hit a big win on the last spin before you're broke? IE: You're going to remember those few instances when it happened more than the other 500+ times it didn't. In other words, for every one player that wins on that last spin for the session, there's hundreds of players using their "last spin" that net either zero, or a very little amount.

That's like me and certain songs from the 1980's that I loved. I can remember almost every word to those songs, but can't remember hardly any other songs from that era that I didn't like, even though I've probably heard them dozens (if not hundreds) of times.

80's music, whats to love?
Or were you one of those guys that wore makeup and dressed like an extra from Blakes 7 while playing with his organ?
:what:

No, I wasn't.

And I was a teenager during the 80's, so it was quite impressionable on me :p

80's music, whats to love?

OMD - Organisation, Dazzle Ships & Architecture & Morality LPs
Heaven 17 - Luxury Gap
Depeche Mode - everything!
Yazoo and anything with Vince Clarke at the helm
The Cure - 17 Seconds & Faith

...need I go on? :D

RNGs...yes I am aware of this creature..but I throw it out the door..I've got my theories about these RNGs but am not going to get into that now...

I prefer clicking over APlay anyday..for numerous reasons. When I manually spin/ click, I am actually 'playing' the game..not just watching it. 'Playing' the game, to me means that my clicking has an impact on the reels and outcome of the game. Variables like clicking tempo, amount of pressure, duration of each click, time between each click, etc...definitely impact how the reels spins and land...(yes, I'm superstitous)

I believe the designers of these games imbed secrets within these slots....and its up to the players to find out what these secrets are...
But thats just my 2 cents...

Besides, 'playing' and interacting with the slots is much more fun than being passive with APlay...Unless youre like Simmo! who has had most his killer hits with APlay.

Ah - Software "Easter Eggs" Always an entertaining search on Google that one  I'll always remember the full flight simulator built into MS Excel years back and numerous ones in the FPS games like Quake etc. The concept was used by UK fruit machine manufacturers for years so who knows...maybe there are some in online casinos!

Maybe that's the reason you have to download gigs of new data once they release new game(s) ;)

ps: They're also very popular in DVD's too :)

I grew up playing Nintendo...I spent way too much time in front of the TV, playing Super Mario Bros. 2, trying to save the Princess! :eek2:

Whats this about Vegas VIP and illegitimate play? Sorry, Im clueless..

A number of players had winnings confiscated because of "illegitimate play. The rep posted that it was NOT, "bonus abuse", a scam, nor even player fraud. Some players who did NOT even take a bonus had winnings confiscated, which was quite bizarre. After pressure, the casinos gave in and paid out, but warned that if they saw any more of this "illegitimate play" they would void winnings again. It looks like eCogra also ruled in the player's favour on those cases they looked at.

Several threads were in the complaints section about this.

Payouts different?

Many posters mention that they believe payouts differ with different actions, such as reducing or increasing bet size or coin values. Others consider autoplay is different to manual play.

So, lets add this snippet I found as it may cast some light on possible reasons for this:-

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Random number generators work in the following fashion:
1. Take a range of fractions (usually between 0 -1) and run the random function on the range.
2. Then apply this fraction to the actual range of numbers that you are interested in (e.g. in a card game with 4 decks the probability of choosing an arbitrary each card decreases by a factor of 4)
3. What you can do to influence the outcome is to weight the outcome based upon some other event by applying a variable to the function you create that generates the outcome.

If you want it to be truly random you can weight the values based upon some value, which is infinitesimal such as the current server time down to microseconds.

By the same token you can also pass a blank variable, which will register as a NULL value, and then at any point in time to weight the outcome values upwards or downwards, you can then pass a non-null variable and this will then skew the outcome of the randomness.

Basically this is how the Random Number Generator (RNG) works:
1. Client software connects to the port on the Gaming server.
2. Client software requests a game that player wants.
3. Player requests to be dealt or to spin

Client software connects to gaming server and asks for a random number to be generated on a specific port.
4. Based upon the weighting of the RNG the result will come back as within probability or skewed.
5. On the MGS Gaming server the following parameters are passed to the RNG: game, game type, time (hh:mm:ss:ss.sss) and client parameters request # etc.
The MGS Gaming server RNG service can be weighted according to a variable that is usually left blank.
6. Request result is then recorded and sent back to the client.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Autoplay will result in an even interval between requests, so server times will be similarly equally spaced.
The NULL weighting factor is the "streak switch". Off gives an even game, but ON could give a skewed streak, either for the player or the dealer. Interplay between this variable and the server time should ensure the player does get some hits even within a negative streak envelope.
Coin size and wager amount could conceivably be passed by the "game type" variable if this changes for the weight of the bets, such as to limit big wins from high bets. Many times it has seemed that small bets lead to better slot bonus rounds as a percentage of stake, although not too much in absolute terms.

Happy New Year -

Discuss and enjoy:D

I used to use the autoplay all the time . Now I mix it up a little with 25 spins and 10 spins and then I do my own clicks in between. I was glad to read this thread because I have always been curious about this too. :)
