Another interesting new slot at Unibet - Angel or Devil

My play at Unibet is about 90% WMS slots, but I am branching out into some of the other offerings they have.

I've previously flagged up 'Tesla' (which I still recommend!), and this evening's suggestion is 'Angel or Devil'.

The hook on this one is that you can adjust the variance of the slot at any time you wish (the RTP is fixed at just under 95%).

Angel is lowest variance, Devil is highest variance, with three settings in-between for low-medium, medium, and medium-high.

Slide the bar right down to 'angel' and you get wilds on 1-2-3, more scatters for more features but with lower paying 'angel cards' after every spin, and everything geared towards lower payouts with high frequency. (i.e. Lots of wins and features but very rare big hits.)

Slide the bar right up to 'devil' and it's the opposite, the wilds are all on 3-4-5 (so bigger paying but rarer 4/5OAKs), less scatters so feature hits are rarer, but every card on the feature is a 'devil card' so higher payouts.

There's also a 'super card' which upgrades the reels for the rest of the free spins round, which is what I've got in the screenshot below.

(The help file is very informative and fully explains everything.)

Now in reality I think even the MAXIMUM DEVIL setting is fairly tame, and I'd say that's the one to go for. The feature is somewhat rare at this setting but almost always pays decently, and it eliminates a lot of the horrible tiny base game reel wins and rubbish paying features that plague so many online slots.

The graphics and sound are excellent, it looks and feels like a video slot rather than a video game, and it doesn't spend ages buggering about with pointless animations and other trivial rubbish that simply gets in the way of the gameplay.

Not sure if it's available anywhere other than Unibet.

The feature this screenshot is taken from finished at 173x stake (£34.65p from a 20p spin), and that's on MAXIMUM DEVIL setting, so do be aware this isn't some sort of crazy DoA/Bruce Lee/BDBA type affair - the maximum win on the base game is 200x stake and in the bonus round something like 1000x stake for a single spin.

Just thought I'd give a heads-up for it as it's something a bit different :)

Yes, Angel or Devil is a decent slot. Created by Ash Gaming (Playtech company).

It can be found in quite many casinos, like for example Betsafe, Betsson and CasinoEuro

Interesting, there's no progressive option at Unibet :)

Thanks for the video link, that probably explains it better than my rambling post :D

I checked Betsafe and Betsson and both of them are offering a progressive on this slot.

Ash Gaming usually uploads pretty long videos of their games, which is a great way to learn about a new game before playing it.

Think they even have a few 10+ min videos hehe.

Although their latest video showing Little Britain is only about 30 sec long!

Funny slot :D

Hi All,

we indeed had this slot for quite a while. At the time, we specifically asked not to have a jackpot on this game (and a few other Ash games) since in that way, you can generally give more money back to the customers in the base game. Overall RTP doesn`t change really but nothing goes into a jackpot.

Little Britain is also coming up very soon and a few other Ash games are also on the way.

I think it made it's debut on Hills (in their Vegas section). Played it quite a lot (mostly in medium / high setting and always with the progressive switch off).

Literally can't ever remember a decent win on it!!

As a slight aside, Hills have some very fun new(ish) games in their Vegas section at the moment. Especially like 'Wish Upon A Jackpot'. 95.28% RTP (no progressive). It combines a lot of very fun elements from various slots and has a very WMS feel to it. Well worth a look.

Winnings of Oz and Genie Jackpots (non Vegas Millions version) are also fun to play and (in my experience) give you a fair amount of play for your money. Both seem low-medium variance.

Avoid Egyptian Goddess as the stated RTP is 88%

This has been on NordicBet a while now. I tried it on freeplay and decided to stick it on HV and play until a feature. After 20 minutes I was unconscious with boredom. I awoke from my torpid state, wiped the dribble that had dripped from the corner of my mouth and stopped it. I never hit the bonus round. I then began to cry uncontrollably at the realization that some horrible sod somewhere, riddled with spite, had mooted a slot more boring than Starburst.
The lachrymose state soon passed however, and was replaced by a cloudy depression.

tried it today on unibet, low rolling and never hit a feature, gave up with a tenner left and tried some of the other brands in casino black, rapunzel, goldilocks both were nice to me, and paid well today, only issue i have with both of those games is the delay in respinning which actually makes its frustrating waiting to be able to respin, nice games but the experience is marred by how they run on my pc.

Well yes, but when you do land a feature in HV mode you're pretty much guaranteed 100x stake or better as far as I can tell - so it's a case of choosing your poison really, innit? :D

Well, it's one poison I'll never pay to ingest. It's absolutely cryable.

I stand by this slot as being an interesting recommendation.

It can go a LONG time between bonus rounds on the HV setting, I had a 1000+ spin dead streak before where I didn't hit any more than 35x stake on the base game with no bonus rounds at all.

However, when the bonus round comes in on the HV setting, you're pretty much guaranteed 50x stake and 100x stake or better appears to be the norm, plus with the devil cards being guaranteed after every spin on the pick me, it's reasonably exciting too.

Ultimately, if we're going to accept that RTP is fixed around the 95% mark (give or take) when it comes to online slots, then the only variable left really is variance and win distribution on the pay table - and I quite like the idea of a slot whereby I'm damn near guaranteed 50x stake as a starting point on a bonus round trigger.

After all, you can wait hundreds of spins for a bonus round on IR, and then have it pay literally bugger all.

(And for the record I will state I'm losing on Angel or Devil tonight, but since all the WMS slots were down before at Unibet I had to pick something else to play :D I've had that 'LIGHTNING CASH' trigger twice now, and both times it's paid an underwhelming 28x stake. That's the thing where on the progressive flavour you need all three coins to get the progressive. I'd be interested to know what the maximum prize is on the non-progressive version.)

Chopley,

I had a pretty similar reaction to the game when it came out at the end of 2011. Especially as I hit a 250xbet free spins round almost right away. The first couple of weeks I played it almost every day, because it was features galore, especially the lightning bonus. Then my luck run out and I started getting those mindnumbing sessions where you couldn't hit a goddamn feature for hundreds upon hundreds of spins, even with the lowest variance settings.

The game is a horrible money grabber if you don't get the features frequently. And the 2 lowest settings pay diddly squat, anyway.

Rapunzel's Tower is a fantastic slot, thanks for the tip guys :)

Had it spinning for an hour already, nice and simple but lots going on. Solid RTP of just over 97% and sensible variance.

been playing rapunzel again too today , 2 sessions so far, played both for a decent period of time and both times ended up positive, no huge wins yet, think my best bonus round was around the x50 mark reaching the top of the tower, im sure there is potential though with the amount of wilds and sticky wilds, will need to give goldilocks a run as ive played it in fun mode and if you turn all the bears wild it can give some great wins, on a side not wms slots still down on unibet, and i did try angel and devil on min stake again and hit the bonus, still not convinced though :)

The maximum win on Rapunzel is pretty small, a full screen of wilds is only 667x stake in normal play, and 1334x stake if you should manage to get it at the top of the tower with the 2x multiplier in effect. (But that's still a very nice hit of course!)

Personally I'm finding that I'm really gravitating to 'WMS-esque' variance slots, if you look at a lot of WMS slots and work out the maximum theoretical pay, it often falls in the 1500-2000x stake range (slots such as Bruce Lee very much being the exception). Personally I like this, it's all very well IR having 13000x stake on the paytable for all 5 wilds in Wild Desire, or DoA chucking out 6000-8000x stake on the monster bonus rounds, but realistically you could damn near play those slots forever and not see them.

Personally I like slots that do regular 50-100x wins, often hit around 250x, and with decent chances of wins around the 500x stake mark, and 1000x stake or better possible on a really big hit.

Netent go too far in the other direction IMO, and chuck too much of the RTP away on endless horrible 5x stake or less wins (I'm looking at you, Elements).

The WMS slots at Unibet at that juicy 96% RTP, and the likes of Rapunzel's Tower and Angel or Devil really appeal to me.

might have to try some of these slots out! recently signed up to unibet and they re support team are very helpful. they said they are changing the layout of the site in a week or so. I will wait until the changes have been made and then take advantage of the generous 100% match bonus up to and including £100. Unibet is the way forward for me, the slots are sleek and quick with a friendly and helpful support team.

Big Bad Wolf is expected to go live in online casinos next month (May).

Beowulf most likely in June.

Unibet and Betsson brands (+ a few others) are also offering Supernova and Goldilocks from Quickspin.

Don't remember the RTP% on Supernova, but I think that Goldilocks is slightly over 97%, the same as in Rapunzel's Tower.
