Hey everyone, i just wanted a bit of advice from you guys if possible. Last December I joined a casino, recently found out there licenced in Curacao. made a few deposits and shut the account down the same day. I found the games laggy. Anyways 2 days ago i came across a complaint on another casino related forum about someone else who had joined that same casino and had put a complaint in because that casino did not hold a UK gambling licence and they had there deposits returned to them. I though ok in for a penny and fired off a quick email to said casino about there lack of licence and the said person who got a refund because of it. The reply was not very nice and they stated "that player was a different issue" "we have a special letter from the UKGC that allows us to take uk players money without a actual licence" "We are sending this to the international fraud agency because you are trying to fraudently extract money from us". I almost fell off my chair. I honestly sent a very nice email asking about the licence and my exact words were "if not I would appreciate my deposits returned, thank you for taking the time to help me and I appreciate all your help". I don't think I could of been much nicer. I do apogise for the vague information but because this is still ongoing I don't want to stir the pot more by naming and shaming the casino until the ukgc have got back to me regarding the threats. Is it possible I'm gonna have police banging on my door arresting me for fraud for asking for my deposits back? Or are they just empty threats. My first and last time ever trying to get money back from a casino that's for sure. Thanks everyone

Sorry I just wanted to add the casino in question is not on the casinomeister accredited list nor on the no go list

There is no “international fraud agency”, and the likelihood of the UKGC giving some shady operator a “special letter” to allow them to take UK money without a licence is about as low as it gets.

Whether you want to pursue a card chargeback is up to you, and then up to your bank as to whether they agree to it. You tell them the truth of the situation, they make the decision.

That bolded line is such fantastical BS that it astounds me even coming from a rogue outfit!

Alas we see this kind of thread weekly nowadays. Little you can do, some of those Cup-o-cocoa casinos are like a black hole, where money only goes one way.

You haven't named and shamed them, but I ask you to check Outdated URL (Invalid) - is the casino listed there?

It's highly likely, or if it isn't it will be an associated one.

Write back and say “thats funny as I have a special letter from bank confirming my chargebacks, your chargeback fees and a complaint to your merchant provider to rescind their business with you”.

Thanks everyone I checked the list and the casino isn't on there. I stayed up most of the night doing my research and sent them another email regarding my findings and they have wrote back today saying "they are now looking into refunding me but might not be able to because the transactions are a month old". Hopefully it goes well

I was up in money but I played it on different games like I normally do when I join a new casino to get a feel for the casino. I Didn't make any withdrawels.

Why didn't you try to withdraw before shutting the account down, would have made more sense.

Don’t worry about the police knocking at your door. Be assured it was clearly scare tactics from the casino.

Don’t let this put you off playing it be sure to check the reviews (even check out the good sign up offers) on casinomeister mainpage
Best Online Casino Reviews Updated Since 1998 - Casinomeister

As that way, if things go wrong (which they rarely do), you can expect help here from reps and max.

That’s the beauty of casinomeister, that you can play with the best advice from very experienced people.

Because I had no money left to withdraw, as with all gambling you win a bit then lose a bit. Once I had tried the games I decided the site wasn't for me and closed my account. Thank you supababe. Like I already said I'm not massively bothed about the money, this happened over a month ago and never thought about it again, it was only when a few days ago when I saw they were giving uk players refunds because they legally can't accept uk players I thought ok might aswell see what they say. If they had just said no it's not in ours terms or whatever then I would of left it at that. Iv been gambling for 8 years and never tried to get a refund before it's just not something you do. It's just this time because it's a legal issue. Thanks everyone

They are just empty threats.

'A Special Letter' I nearly pissed myself when i read that part. I also have a 'Special Letter' from Santaclaus giving me full authority to climb down people's chimneys and steal there christmas presents. Do live chat thnik there talking to adults or children. Special Letter!!!!! A SPECIAL LETTER!!!!! HaaHaaaaaaa
Made my day!

In all seriousness i hope at least you can get your deposits back mate.

P.S I also have a Special Letter from the bank which allows me to withdraw cash using other people debit cards. Wouldn't life be so great if we all had access to the mythical SPECIAL LETTER???!!!

Ok ill stop now.....

Sorry for the incredibly late reply everyone. I did get my deposits back in the end which was nice of them. Just goes to show no matter how long you have been gambling for and how much you think you know, you can still get burned. Kou187 you almost made me wet myself with that comment, while I was hiding under my bed trying to evade the fraud police coming to arrest me I did wonder what the special letter said. In future I shall be triple checking to make sure its a UK license before I sign up.

The special letter has been leaked
