I can't seem to figure out how to add an avatar. Is it there and I'm just not seeing it, or is that a feature that gets unlocked once you reach a certain membership level?

It's too long ago for me to remember if you have to indeed have a certain membership level, but otherwise you just can do it like this:
Click on the main "Forum" tab then click the drop down bar under "Forum Actions" and pick "General Settings" from there you can see the option "Edit Avatar" on the left pane where you can then pick either a custom one from a URL of your choice or a pic uploaded from your PC, or choose a predefined one, like me:)

If you follow these steps and the option isn't there, then i think we can safely assume you need to reach the next level of membership status :D

When come to think about it, just wondered why my avatar was so gigantic. Must been doing something right lately :D

It is possible to make it smaller you know. Look at mine :)

Also I don't know what Incrediblestuff said but I always go to setting up to the right to change anything.
After 5 years in here I have learned a few things I can do, but everyday I discover something new.

The best thing I finally found was the search option under information. That should be on its own somewhere so people knew where to do their search.

Newbie members can upload avatars 50x50. The size gets bigger as you advance in membership status.

It lets me go up to 100x100, but the image I created is 25.3k and it says 19.5k is the max. I'll come back to it when I have time to optimize the image quality to reduce file size.

Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction. I appreciate it.

Just noticed I'm still only at "Fully registered"......

"Experienced Member: Once you have either 200 reputation points or 100 posts and have been registered for at least 365 days, the membership becomes "Experienced". These members have a number of more capabilities in the forum."

I have more than 100 posts, have 1816 rep points and have been registered for 3 years :what:

I believe it should say Senior Member on you.
You've past the experienced already. You're getting old

Your "Custom User Title" was set at "user" level which meant that it was probably set for whatever reason when you were a Fully Registered member. I've switch it to default. You're a senior member and have had the permissions of a senior member since you became one.

You can also change your title in your settings in case "senior" seems inappropriate for your age :p
