A whole series of articles in The Guardian on gambling

"Others will play high stakes slots all day on a livestream before cherry picking their wins and posting the videos on YouTube. These will be accompanied by affiliate links which do not disclose that the tipsters stand to win from any losses incurred by those who sign up."

LOL....that's one thing I can't be accused of....:D

Interesting read, but the articles do not focus that much on rogue operators (except 888) or failures by regulatory bodies. Their aim is rather to raise awareness for gambling addiction imo.

They also conveniently forget to mention, in their agenda-laden articles, that there are are numerous affiliates like CM, thePOGG, OCR, even my little self to some extent, that go out of their way to ensure you don't play at rogue sites and make sure they only add casinos with the proper RG tools.

Can't honestly remember ever reading a balanced article about gambling in any mainstream media. No-one's interested in that.

Here's another

No Government representatives should be able to accept any gifts or incentives from any company IMO but it happens all over the world. Every company with money and political incentive does something like this, whether it be gifting or donations. Look at all the big political donations that are made in the US and UK by big companies that vastly over-shadows a trip to Cheltenham and to the Community Shield although to be fair to this article, it highlights donations from other sectors too. Either way, none of there should be allowed but it's a fault of the political system, not the companies.

It's great that they try to start a debate regarding all the problems related to online gambling. Even though UKGC in UK and other organisations try to regulate the business a bit, there still seems to be the wild west out there.

Did you expect anything else from that trash newspaper? They have an agenda, as you said, so there will never be a balanced discussion.

All that they want is interference by the Government, but that is to be expected from a left leaning newspaper.

Well, I did get a mention a few years ago here.
