Santa's Wild Ride. When I first played this game around Christmas 2012, it quickly became one of my favourites.
Then for some reason, I suddenly stopped playing it. I hardly played it at all during 2014. Don't remember ever getting "slaughtered" on it. Maybe I just got bored with it. Some of MG's 2014 releases (Avalon 2, GWG2, Jurassic Park, even Red Hot Devil and Max Damage) quickly became firm favourites of mine. Combine that with my love of IR, TS2 and Playboy, and "SWR" just seemed to become "a long forgotten favourite".
Then 32Red's Festive Frenzy and Festive Slots Leaderboard persuaded me to give it "a proper try" again.
And boy, was I glad that I did. I had been doing pretty well on it (as my recent screenie posts would confirm).
Personally, I prefer the expanding wilds only slightly more than the trailing wilds. Simply because I've done consistently better on expanding wilds.
But I knew the trailing wilds had huge potential. I just hadn't got it to "really click in" for a huge hit yet, as my biggest win on it (prior to this) had been 188.9x bet. Compare that to the expanding wilds feature, where I have managed at least four wins of 200x bet, including two that were over 500x bet.
But this time, I got the trailing wilds to really click in...
What was really sweet about what was about to happen was this....I didn't even need the wild to land on Reel 5 in order to land a big win.
I didn't know it at the time, but after doing some sums, it turns out that I was already guaranteed a win of 1536x bet (£460.80).
Even before the spin played out, I was guaranteed at least...
36 4OAKs of wilds @ £8 = £288 (all the wilds on Reels 1, 2, 3 and 4 were there after the "trail", but before the spin)
108 5OAKS of any non-wild symbol @ no less than £1.60 = £172.80
But....I haven't posted a screenie in this thread since late August (when I got a big hit on Sarah's Wild Vine feature).
So yeah I'll admit it....I did want the wild to drop on Reel 5. It just wasn't ONLY about the extra winnings
Getting Holly on Reel 4 and 5 would have been damn good even without getting the wild to drop on Reel 5, but
I got those AND the wild as well. RE-SULT!!! :yahoo: 3102x bet.
Total for the round was 3467x bet, my biggest ever win (in terms of x bet) in my 3 and a bit years of slotting online, smashing my previous best of 1903.5x bet on The Dark Knight.
So that takes my collection of games where I got 5 wilds on a payline (or way) to 6....
Pure Platinum (base game)

Played this slot at casumo the other week too and I had a similar experience with the bonus round won $157.20 of 0.40p (x392). The bonus round is really great, from memory there is a good chance every symbol can turn wild for a decent win.
I also had a similar bonus round in rumpel wildspin with the sticky wild features. Great games I will definitely be spending more time on novomatic slots the bonus rounds pay regularly whenever they hit it seems

Yeah I agree - NetEnt is synonymous for having mostly poor returns on the higher free spins - at least from my experience. Its hard enough to trigger the darn scatters, then you get kicked in the nuts with a poor return.

In a game like mythical maiden as well you can get streaks of dead spins in the free spin mode. I've had 4 scatters a few times before to get not even x10 bet and there are times I've had only 3 scatters and got x50 to x100 bet. Luck of the draw I suppose but more free spins doesn't guarantee anything in mythical maidens sadly.

Yeah it's very rare. I got 50x bet on these 30 freespins+6 extra added during the spins. Kind of sucks with a quite high bet.
