You can go to Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) starting today to apply for coupons to offset the cost of purchasing a/d converter box (max 2 coupons per household)

Only needed if you don't use cable or satellite TV i.e. have rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna.

I just saw that on the news the other day. I wonder how much of a discount you get and how big of a tv it goes towards. Ive had digital for years, I cant imagine many people still having analog. Maybe its because Im such a tv hound lol

Each coupon is $40, the converter boxes are supposed to run $50-$60.

I'm wondering if they could be converted simply to act as a rf converter (which you need to watch dvds on older telees) probably not as they're analog to digital.

Most, if not all of the old tv frequencies have been sold or 'reserved' already.

On September 12, 2007, the FCC voted 5-0 on requiring cable operators to make local broadcasts available to their users, even those with analog television. This requirement lasts until 2012, when the FCC will review the case again.
