I totally agree, now THIS is how MG tournaments should run. I usually avoid playing them, not because of any buy in costs which I would happily pay to play if all chances are fair but they are usually not. Many tournaments its usally 999 rebuys or 99 continues or some such nonsense which essentially means only the people with deep lined pockets can continue to play and win unless your immensely lucky. Once again 32Red raise the bar, this time in the tournaments.

I would actually play these "endurance" tournaments if I wasn't repeatedly disconnected and lagged. It is because this type of tournament requires "deep pockets" that I don't want to invest heavily only to have my chances ruined because I fall irretrievably behind due to a spell of disconnects and lagging.

With plenty of time to play each session, this is almost not a problem unless a disconnect is so bad that it is impossible to reconnect within an hour. With most, even a PERFECT connection is simply not enough time to get through the spins allocated, so even the slightest incident of lag is enough to fall irretrievably behind, and slope the field in favour of players that have not suffered degradation of their link to the server.

MGS are either completely clueless, or they are DELIBERATELY setting this "fault" for some reason, and thus have no intention of fixing it.

Thanks for the heads-up about the tournament. Logged into the casino, and one of those chat windows pops ups. Usually doesn't happen at 32Red. It was not the usual CS today:

Nah. There are currently more than 500 players and the maximum number of players is whopping 6000. If there will be, say, 2000 players in total, (I assume registration will stay open after the tournament starts for the duration of entire 7 days), then there is expected value of £5 per player. But wait! The wins are credited as a bonus with playthrough requirement rather than cash, so the expected value is closer to £2 per player. I certainly wouldn't call a tournament with £2 expected value great. We deserve better IMO.

I had a chat window pop up too but it seemed to 'cut out' as it didn't connect...

To be blatantly honest why do we do deserve anything free?, we have no God given right to expect anything for nothing, be it from the software provider or casino`s, this tournament is a clear indication as to why 32Red are where they are today...

Cynicism = Knowing the cost of everything, but the value of nothing.

Because of the action we have given 32Red and the profit they have made from it? It's called giving some of the value back. Yes I agree with you, 32Red doesn't have to give anything for free, but if they do, I expect there to be at least some value in it. For £2 I am not going to bother even launching the software and playing the tournament.

The point of my post was that CM members need to start estimating the value of these free offers, because right now it looks rather silly to get ecstastic over £2. And please don't confuse being realistic with cynicism.

Well atm it`s looking okay for me ;)........

32Redtourny.webp

I personally think this is by far the best freeroll tourny i`ve taken part in, and not just because of my position.

Hello fellow members. Since i am a complete noob i would like to know what a decent score is...I am in as: 32REDADDICT with abou 179k. Will this be enough to get to top 100?

Also i think 32red does a fantastic jon in their christmas promotion and once again seperates from the rest.

Yes it will be enough for top 100, 100% sure.

I didn't think playing on more than one casino of theirs was allowed for freerolls, so I had better register at Dash too, don't have the other two.

£2 EV is small, but is an average. When they give away free chips, I doubt they give EVERY player 32, only a selected few. If fewer players than allowed register, the EV per player would be even greater.

Unlike other "freerolls", they are not making any money from continues and rebuys, so in absolute terms is MORE generous than those "freeroll" 30K prize pool tournaments with rebuys and continues aplenty.

I have no idea wether this is a stupid question or not:

This Christmas, is 32RED giving away any cash without playthrough requirements?

I'm confused about the terms 'Free Chips' vs. 'Bonuses'. And it seems that any money from free spins also has playthrough requirements? Have I understood it correctly that

there is actually no money being awarded without strings attached? (I don't want to miss out on any good deals for noob Video Poker players).

Weird bug/glitch at Nedplay, I have no tournaments available whatsoever, I just done a thorough uninstall and registry clean, re-installed Ned and still have no tournaments (not even the two icons - scheduled and casino specials)?.

I haven't had any tourneys at Nedplay for a couple of months now - I thought they quit doing tourneys, so it was odd to get the invitation from them.

I'm in 3rd - fingers crossed :)

Had an insane bonus round lol

I had zero bonus rounds for the whole tourney, which is a perfect example of why I never play this game in real, lol. Think I'm currently in 258th spot...bring on the cash!! :D

Really? Really???

You're complaining about the value of something that is FREE? Where every entrant has an EQUAL chance?

I assume you're not entering, if its really not worth it as you say?. Nice to see the christmas grinch is alive and well.

I didnt get anywhere in the prizes, even though i thought i would have more chances of hitting something substantial by lowering bet, to have more spins ^^.

Indeed this is how a freeroll should look like!
I posted a compliment on Go Wild casino months back, as they were the first to setup a similar tourney as far as i know:
I'm very happy to see 32Red do this!
I hope they will pertain that setup and drop the rebuys and continues for the freerolls, and reserve them for the buyin tournaments.
That goes for all Microgaming casinos ofc.
Thanks 32Red for that tourney and congrats on your title!

yeah no rebuys and continue options, a truly free tournament  gowild never had those, right? Cause I don't like them at all, and their freerolls is what I hate the most lol, they have the worst players (or drones :p) who buy more rebuys/continues than what the prize is actually worth :/ And they give you like 50000 coins and 5 minutes for Tomb raider, instead of 32red's 30000 coins and 1 hour at Thunderstruck II.
Anyhow I got an email from 32red telling me I didn't register for the tourney yet, so I reinstalled the software and played.
I lacked patience though, I upped the bet instead of fully using all the playtime with small bets. So I didn't get far at all. :o
Congrats to whoever won something! Probably played low bets all the time right?

Hi All,

Prizes have been credited.

48th for $50 :), just a thought, why do MGS tourneys use dollars still?.

I think it's a display thing, all prizes are bonus credits - if your account is GBP, you've won a £50 bonus. :)

Regards,
Mark

Thanks Mark :)

I hope this tourney model can be made into a regular one with an entry fee.

I'm not sure about others, but I would pay up to $50 to enter a tourney where everyone had an equal chance. I wouldn't put .05 into the current ones with 999 continues or 55 rebuys etc. It's only worthwhile for people like vinyl who have too much time and money!
