ok, there's no name and shame here for any particular casino, because AFAIK, comps are the same across all RTG casinos.

So anyways, I ended up wagering close to $1,000 on a bonus before I busted out. I don't know the exact amount I wagered, because I didn't check to see before my balance went down to $0; but the last time I checked, it was over $900 worth.

So I bust out, and go to redeem my comps, expecting to see maybe a few bucks for my play.

HAH! Yea, right. I got just over $1 for my action.

Why do I even bother playing online? I get way more comps than that at B&M casinos.

prime example:

@ Bally's penny slots - For every $5 wagered, you receive 1 point. 100 points are worth $1. That's double what you'll get online.

Even if I only play poker, I'll get $1 to $2 per hour, depending on the casino. If you're playing slots online at an average of 600 spins an hour @ .20/spin, you're wagering $120 per hour. It would take you over 8 hours to earn $1 in comps.

Microgaming is even worse.

I just checked one casino, and for every $10 wagered, you get one point. 200 points = $1, and you can only redeem comps in $10 chunks.

So basically, you only get $1 for every $2,000 wagered.

And you can't even touch a penny of your comps until you wager $20,000.

And even if you have wagered $39,999.99, you can still only redeem $10.

Comp points can seem measly, which is why I cash mine up on a quarterly basis so I can redeem a worthwhile sum. I treat comp points the same as loose change, stick it in a jar or a bottle and let it build up.

Some casinos offer you a higher conversion rate if you cash up larger amounts. Also its always worth keeping an eye out for promotions where some slots they will offer double or triple points.

If you can get a decent sum cashed out, then you can plough it back into a casino and take a bonus, then you have what is effectively free money. Free money which can get your more comp points. This is what I believe is the best strategy for utilisation.

Cashing them out in small increments renders comp points worthless, as a couple of spins and its gone, this represents poor value.
If you are building comp points up then always check if there is an expiry on them. Also the casinos pedigree, as you don't want shed loads of comps marooned in a clip joint!

No surprise, because that's at nearly all casinos, not only RTG ;)

Grande Vegas Casino give you even only 1 comp point for wagering $20, so you must earn 200 comps (wager $2,000) to get one lousy dollar from them *lol*
