Wild Swarm Review

Wild Swarm is a video slot from the increasingly popular software provider Push Gaming. It joins the likes of Tiki Tumble, Razor Shark, and Fat Rabbit as becoming one of the most played and famous slots online.

Thanks to the (potentially) very lucrative Swarm Mode and big prizes on offer within the base game, Wild Swarm offers excellent win potential and constant enjoyment. In this Wild Swarm review, we’re going to be taking a close look at the game and what it has to offer.

Push Gaming has come out of essentially nowhere to become one of the leading figureheads in the online gambling industry. Over the past couple of years, they’ve released hit after hit, attracting players from all over the globe.

Wild Swarm is one of their most popular releases, largely thanks to the bonuses and features. While the maximum win per spin is capped at 600X your stake, it’s possible to win much more than that during the bonus, as that’s the win cap per spin, not per bonus.

In terms of its layout and design, Wild Swarm is — quite clearly — designed around a beehive. Fittingly, the bee-themed slot offers sticky wild symbols during the bonuses — but we’ll talk more about that later.

Wild Swarm is built around a 5-reel, 4-row format, and there are 20 non-adjustable paylines active on every spin. Push Gaming has set the minimum and maximum bets pretty liberally, and you can wager anywhere from $0.20 to $100 per spin.

Wild Swarm is also fully mobile-optimized, ensuring you’re able to enjoy the slot — and all of its bonus features — from your cell phone or tablet. Let’s continue our Wild Swarm slot review by looking at the symbols, payouts, RTP, and volatility.

RTP and Volatility

With a 97.03% RTP, Wild Swarm offers a very high RTP, especially in today’s ultra-competitive and cash-strapped iGaming industry.

What’s unique, however, is that while the game has a very high RTP, it’s also a high volatility game. This means that the slot’s designed more around producing big, rare wins than it is small, frequent ones.

Symbols and Payouts

Push Gaming has chosen to include playing card values for the low-value ones in terms of the game’s symbols. However, interestingly, they’ve omitted the ’10’, with the low-paying symbols including a J, Q, K, and A.

The high-value symbols include Flowers, Honeypots, and a Queen Bee, and these high-value symbols are all capable of producing big wins in the game. The dollar sign symbol is the highest-paying symbol in Wild Swarm.

Bonuses and Features

There’s a huge amount going on in Wild Swarm, and the abundance of features makes the game so appealing to players. Below, we’re going to look at how the feature bonuses work and what they all do!

Treasure Chest

During the base game (and, indeed, the other subsequent bonus features), you’ll notice that a Chest symbol can land on the last of the five reels. When this lands in view, you’ll enter a pick feature. This pick feature allows you to choose from one of five hidden cards, and you’ll then receive a prize or another bonus depending on what you choose.

The pick feature can award a cash prize, instant entry to the free spins bonus, the Swarm Boost feature, and instant entry to the Swarm mode. We’ll look at the details of this in just a moment.

Free Spins

As with any Push Gaming slot, Wild Swarm was almost certainly going to come with a free spins bonus. The first free spins feature is simply the regular free spins bonus. The free spins round is triggered by landing three, four, or five of the hive scatter symbols anywhere in view, and doing so awards you with 7, 10, or 14 free spins, respectively.

During the free spins, wilds are transformed into sticky wilds, so any that land in view will lock in place until the end of the bonus. It’s also possible to land the Chest on reel 5, which can award shifting wilds. This feature sees all the sticky wilds moving one position to the left (or expanding wilds), which randomly chooses one wild to expand and cover the entire reel.

Collectable Bees

During the main base game, you’ll notice that when a bee symbol lands on the reels, the bee flies into its hive and is collected in a meter, found in the top right-hand corner of the screen. The bee then leaves behind a wild symbol in its place.

The aim here is to get the hive meter up to level five. Once this is achieved, any time a bee lands, there’s a chance of triggering the wild Swarm free spins — the bonus game with the most potential.

Swarm Mode

To trigger the Swarm Mode, as we just saw, you’ll need to have the hive meter up to level five. You don’t need to land a scatter symbol to trigger it.

Once the Swarm Mode feature is triggered, you’re in for a real treat, as the Swarm Mode is an enhanced version of the Wild Swarm free spins feature, offering far-greater win potential.

Before the Swarm Mode features begin, wild honey symbol icons are added to the reels; you’re guaranteed as few as three, but far more sticky wilds can be added to the reels if you’re lucky. The sticky wild symbol will then lock in place before the free spins feature has even begun. You will then receive ten free spins.

The Wild Swarm mode feature will then begin, and, like the regular free spins bonus, any wilds that land in view become sticky wilds. There’s a much greater chance of landing sticky wilds during the Swarm mode, and with ten free spins, your chances of hitting that max win increase quite a bit. What’s more, during this Wild Swarm bonus, landing the Chest symbol can be very lucrative, as not only can it shift or expand wilds, but it can also award additional spins.

The Swarm Mode free spins are what the game’s all about, and you can get plenty of sticky wild icons on the screen awarding massive wins if you’re lucky.

Our verdict

Push Gaming’s Wild Swarm slot is one of their most popular releases, and we feel, with good reason. A large number of bonus features ensures that there’s never a dull moment while playing, and despite not typically paying too much, even the regular free spins feature can end up paying pretty well.

We also like that the Chest symbol can land on any spin, as this can — and frequently does — produce wins, often of up to 200X our stake.

Of course, it’s the Swarm Mode you’ll be aiming for when playing Wild Swarm, and this is where any max win videos you’ll have seen will be from. This bonus game can take quite a while to build up (getting enough bees to activate the Swarm wild feature can take hours), but it’s often well worth the wait, and it’s undoubtedly the best part of the Wild Swarm slot.

During the swarm mode, wilds can land anywhere on the reels before turning into sticky wilds. The bonus game is capable of producing wins of 1,000X+, and often, with the right swarm wild symbols, much greater amounts, too.

Like most slots from Push Gaming, Wild Swarm offers great win potential. As far as video slot machines go, it fairs much better than most games we see today when it comes to the RTP.

Wild Swarm Review FAQs

The Wild Swarm slot is from a popular casino developer called Push Gaming, a company that’s come out of nowhere to become a leading provider. It’s also giving major names like NetEnt and Quickspin a run for their money.

Push Gaming tends to emphasize volatility. Most of their slots, widely available at many online casinos, offer big max win amounts and volatile gameplay.

Yes! If you’d like to play the Wild Swarm slot for free, you’ll be pleased to learn you can do so here at Casinomeister. There’s no need to join online casinos, create an account, or enter personal details.

This honey-inspired slot from Push Gaming contains several bonuses and features. These include a pick-me bonus, where you get to pick to win cash prizes and more, a free spins feature, and the famed Swarm Mode, one of the most (potentially) lucrative bonus games we’ve seen in a while.

The regular free spins feature is triggered by landing three or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. Meanwhile, the Swarm Mode is activated by filling the hive (where the bees make honey). Trust us; writing this review took a few hours to fill with honey, so get ready to play for a while!
