Danish Gambling Authority More Fierce Than Ever in Trying to End Underage Gambling

You can never be too loud when talking about underage gambling. You also wouldn’t be off the mark if you compared this atrocious issue with a thorn screaming to be pulled out — yesterday.

But better late than never, right?

The Danish Gambling Authority nods in agreement, because they’re doubling down on their efforts to put underage gambling to stop once and for all.

It all started back in 2024 when the Danish Gambling Authority joined forces with Twitch, Apple, Google, and Facebook to ensure any piece of content related to illegal gambling gets removed from these platforms.

Now, Robux betting, a.k.a. using the in-game currency from Roblox for online gambling, is next in line to get snatched up by the DGA. Since Roblox is an online gaming platform with 32 million daily active users under 13, no one’s surprised that this phenomenon really struck a DGA’s nerve.

So, what will the Danish Gambling Authority do to pull the plug on these illegal practices? Remember their partnership with Twitch, Apple, and the rest of the cohort? Well, they’ll work together in taking down anything that even remotely resembles an invitation to illegal gambling activities, including stuff aimed at minors. They’re also trying to get people to send screenshots and links to anything suspicious that’s gambling-related they see online.

It’s still up in the air how this all will unroll, but seeing Spillemyndigheden block and shut down illegal websites left and right last year, something tells us they won’t be stopping any time soon, because, why should they?
