I have been playing the slot that introduced me onto online slot gambling- Egyptian Wilds for the past few hours on Paddy Power just because I have not played it for years. I recall when I first played it with the intention of losing as much as a tenner! I was almost having cold sweats over the outcomes of those spins.
What is your nostalgia slots and how did you get involved with online slotting?

I got onto the National Lottery site years ago, probably when they went all high-tech and let you buy your tickets online!

So after picking my sets of wrong numbers, I noticed a sidebar hosting slots. Let's just play that Monopoly game starting at 50p a game or something.

Then that led to a Batman game, I think by IGT. That was the bomb. I still remember the 'clank' of the scatters, first & last reel led to a bonus.

Then a bunch of wilds would assemble in strange positions, but for some reason I'd play the games at 15 or 20 lines instead of the default setting. Probably lost out on riches doing that, thought who would waste 40p per spin on a game (plus my budget was in the sub-£10 range too).

Then in time I'd gravitate to the Penguin Vacations of this world, and all things Playtech. I thought they provided good value for money :eek2:

But all hail 'that Batman game' that caused this affliction, I salute thee

Definitely would be back in MG days, the original Avalon. The sounds were absolute shite but it was my definite go to. Always ended up starting small and then upping to $10/20 hits, the random multiplier NEVER let me down.

Also the original Thunderstruck for some stupid reason always got me pumping it, even though the best win I ever had on it was only x150ish. I think I had a Pavlovian response to the shitty sounds it made!

Wow - feeling like the oldtimer here.

My first games were the Microgaming multi-hand Video Poker - mostly Deuces Wild - I still play this - but for slots - I'd have to say Ladies Night, Thunderstruck, Spring Break, and Tally Ho are my goto "nostalgia" slots. Here are some cool winning screenshots from days of yore. Here is Thunderstruck from Feb. 2004:

The first one I ever played was Cleopatra at PaddyPower and with 100 in w/d 1800-odd. The original fast-speed version. I then went on to deposit £50 at SpinandWin a few months later and proceeded to go on an incredible run on it, increasing stakes slowly from £1 to finally playing on £20 a spin - insane. I used my golden rule of 75% peak balance here and actually withdrew just under £5k which was a huge amount for me at the time and they sent a cheque drawn on the Ulster Bank which I got 8 days later as they didn't pay to Mastercards back then.

They changed Cleopatra not long afterwards to the new, slower version with a blue loading screen with fewer stake-options and it seemed to play totally differently. Those were the days, when decent IGT slots and streaks on them were possible.

Until that insane 3628x on Bonanza I had at the infamous FreakyVegas (also from a £50 deposit) followed by the £900 base-game hit on Donuts which had my balance at one stage to over £8100 and subsequent £7780 w/d, this was my largest ever casino balance. Took 10 years to break that record!

Way back in 2003..... Reading the Sunday People Newspaper, I spotted a small ad for "The People Casino" IIRC offering a 100% match on sign up/first deposit.

Didn't do it straight away but say the advert running for a few weeks and decided to go for it depositing a humble £10 with my Natwest debit card.

Headed for a game called "Monopoly - Here and Now" (IGT?) as I'd always had a thing for Monopoly AWP's in the land based arcades.

Played a bit here and there, didn't really know what I was doing etc. Then I spotted Cleopatra, again as Dunover mentioned the super fast, almost exciting pre rigged version.

It became a firm fave, in fact thinking about it more, the ONLY game I deposited to play and again as mentioned, It defo could go on 'runs' and build up balance, increasing stakes and getting feature after feature was indeed a regular sight!

Steadily casinos offering this slot/version started to close and its then I moved to MG viper casinos. Mermaids Millions was my go to shortly followed by Thunderstruck.

Dug out a few screen shots below.....

Oh the good ol days when wilds and scatter actually paid something for 5oak:D

My first ever play on a slot was Coral - think the game was Pharoahs Tomb? IIRC I was excited getting the times 20 multiplier. Jesus, talk about being hardened.

From then I moved onto Ladbrokes and started playing Big Kahuna a lot and the 9 liners.

The only real slot i play now that I used to 3 or 4 years ago is immortal romance.

After seeing this post. I thought I'd give Avalon a few spins, wish I hadn't bothered now:(
494 spins, no feature, best win 6.75x and an RTP of 47%

I was sports betting offline until a friend pointed out that online the RTP was higher than 60%.
I heard about William Hill from the radio and they had a few slots too (2002). Can't remember the name (3x3, 5 lines, fruits and joker wild).
That was my first, but didn't play more than a few times. I later started Video Poker, almost exclusively. MG Video Poker (download client) was the only thing I would play up until 2010.
Sure, I would try a bit of other MG classics, mainly the ones that I knew from the MG tournaments. But I would play Video Poker 95% of the time.

Then in 2010 a VP 800x on a big bet came. Suddenly I wanted to try the 243 ways and Burning Desire...... well, never played much VP since.
A few years after that I joined CM and a few years after that VS had a battle promo. And with VS I started playing lots of other games and lots of other providers.
Although, I have to admit, I am thinking sometimes about going back to MG VP.......

The first casino I signed up to years ago was Jackpot City when they were still in the UK and Thunderstruck was my first game. My best run of luck was hitting 5 scatters on Mermaids Millions during the feature paying around £750 then loading up some poker game and hitting a straight flush for £2500 on my 5th spin at £2.50.
Then the nightmare began when I went to withdraw £3000: I sent in documentation as requested for verification but kept getting told they had not received it. This went on for almost 2 weeks and I ended up faxing them from an Internet cafe ,and thankfully I was paid 3 days later though at the time I had serious doubts as to ever seeing my winnings.
I joined CM soon after and signed up to 32 Red, hit 5 scatters on Ladies Night during the feature : withdrew £900 and it was in my account 2 days later with no hassle.
My next sign up was to Guts (another CM recommendation) and I managed to withdraw £400 then £350 from playing Jack Hammer and Big Bang and that was in my account the next day.
It’s funny how we moan about MG and Netent now but for me looking back my biggest wins in terms of cash and multiples of bet have come from those 2 providers- maybe the old ones are the best!

First slot game I ever played 'FireDrake' on partycasino, a very basic 9 line + scatters game with free spins, loved it and it was the only slot I played for a while until eventually discovering microgaming, these days its been butchered into an html5 monstrosity where they screwed up all the sound events and timings and well ...ruined it.

Just realized it was 14 years ago they launched halloweenies. Played that a lot when it first launched tho i can't remember names of all the slots i first played.

Can still Remember playing Halloweenies when it first came out on a computer that was not the fastest. Several times after getting free spins with retrigger the win count seemed to go on for ever. Still remember how annoying i found it and how i used to close game and reopen it to save the long count up. Took me a while to realize i could skip the count up lol:oops:.

So many good old reliable games of old. Yet like most people i rarely play all my old favourites. With the new graphics and features on newer slots they are like comparing the old PS to the PS4.

But fact Resident Evil on original PS beats anything ever launched on PS4 shows that looking better and playing faster is not everything. Maybe i should say this month i will only play old favourites and not touch any slot launched in last 10 years. Might even manage few more withdrawals like the old days lol.

Fun thread Geordie! I already was introduced to slots at the very young age of about 7..my Grandmother from my father's side was a real Casino lady:p She only went once a year, and i joined her for the fun as soon as i turned 18, but before that she always took me to a little cafe, to treat me to some hot choco or whatever, and i clearly remember a guy playing a FOBT like machine that were scattered around the pubs in Holland at that time. There were all kinds of interesting flashing lights, and of course the guy that was playing it hit the top pay, resulting in a cacophony of sounds, including the lovely sound of the machine spitting out coins..then my grandma and the guy who won told me how and what happened:p

I was doomed ever since!

I lost interest in the land based stuff quickly though, especially when i became a bit more savvy as to the payout mechanisms and percentages, and in general recognizing the depressing atmosphere in most of these places :p

Then, about 20 years ago, i found Online Slotting...which at first i actually didn't trust (which was soon confirmed as my first win was never paid, due to the bullcrap casino mentality we all came to know and loathe) so i only played with freebies whenever possible, and had some fun exploring. My first good experiences came from MG and Netent, somewhat later. After that 3Dice proprietary software really showed me there was hope for Online Casinos, and that's the point where i really got into it:)

My favorite slots back then, that still have that nostalgia feeling, were pre-HTML5 Avalon, BDBA, Tally Ho (loved 3 and 5 line play on that one) and Jane Blonde...
But the one i played the most, and loved/hated more than anything, was Oriental Fortune..that slot is so sick, destroyed me more often than i'd like to remember, but i also had some fantastic wins on it!

Netent also provides me with some nostalgic feelings, when i remember the pre-HTML5 Starburst, Reel Steal and DOA, where you also could still adjust the number of lines...had amazing times with those...

3Dice's golden oldie would have to be Supersuits...i had crazy session on that slot when i first joined, and that resulted in my first cashout there (which was paid in a minute) and as stated showed me what was possible, in terms of service and trustworthiness..

There are more slots, even more providers that give me some of that 'ole nostalgia vibe, but hey, no wonder - i'm starting to become an old fart, and spent about 25 yrs plus online, spunking my money away on 'm! :D

LOL...I played hundreds of K of spins on Cleopatra and never ever hit the 5 Wilds. My best bonus was 331x bet, and my most retriggers was a 105-spin bonus.

Ok, confession time

I too played similar volume to yourself and never hit 5 wilds. Plenty of 4's but never 5, that screen shot was the wife's 3rd or 4th punt at Ladbrokes, put me to shame in 'minutes'

As best memory serves, 135 was my best FS and £250 ish on 0.40p bet. (Had 5 scatters during bonus and 5OAK premiums but can't recall exact details)

Sinking a few cans one Saturday night at an Ex's house and the features simply would not stop coming in, must have had seriously at least 25-30. I recall her appearing stating "Its 3am, you only stop Saturday night's, whats the point..." which nowadays is about 5 hours past my bed time lol

Well I started to play online about 10 years ago and the first casino I signed up for was William Hill.
As told before I made a 5k+ WD on my first ever deposit and had a great time.

The very first slot I played there was Zuma and I still love this slot today but it is not available at many casinos.
WH still has it and I think also Paddy Power and Boyle Sports.
The free spins were always exciting as you got to pick the amount of free spins and afterwards a multiplier which could really boost your wins.
Had a few very good hits on this and I think there is now a 3D version but never seen it or played it.

Also Bejeweled 2 was a slot I really liked, could also dish out some very nice wins.
