Would You be Pissed Over This Sales Tactic ?

Almost a week before Christmas , i contacted a life insurance company, wanting to get life insurance on Jim (no not going to knock Jim off lol) anyway i get a call a day before Christmas saying with Jims past health problems, it so much easier and cheaper to get accidental death insurance on both of us.

I told him i would get back with him after the holidays with an answer and this is when he started pissing me off, "he said you know Christmas time and New Years are deadly holidays and with you out shopping or just out and about,it sure would be a shame if you had no coverage in place, think of the hardship it could cost your family, do you know what it costs to bury someone now?"

Im now really freaking out, thinking OMG what if on the way to wally world im hit by a drunk driver or hit a tree or worse

Well needless to say, the salesman called upon me again today, reminding me New Years is coming fast and we still have time to get insured and then he went on that same spill again.This is a reputable company, Matrix that is, but i think if this man had me so paranoid what the hell is he telling older people, he did scare the crap out of me for sure, i wont lie about it.

I did get my act together and told him what i thought and that i would be reporting him to Matrix, he laughed and said for what, telling you what could happen and trying to ease your family from any financial burdens.

I hung up on the bastard after telling him do not call my home again, email, ect.

So what can you do about people like this, wasnt he trying to use the scare tactic? It just pissed me the hell off!!!!!!!! ...... laurie

Pisses you off yes...uncommon...no. Life insurance is like gambling...the insurance companies figure the odds on how long you are going to live (based upon an actuarial table) and then you give them money based upon that table and you wait and see who wins (or loses as the case may be). My ex sold life insurance many,many years ago...you want to talk about puting the fear in to people? I think you can tell I don't like any of it. It's the same with household/personal property...you have to have it but God forbid if you use it!
Only use it if your house burns down or blows up. If you have too many claims you will get cancelled and put in to a database of abusers (kind of like Rival and the bonuses).
