Winnings while accidentally GameStopped

Hello all! Slightly bizarre situation I unknowingly gambled while under gamstop (expired 7 months ago but forgot to remove), I signed up to a uk casino and won £5000 and I’ve tried to withdraw but obviously they’ve suspended my account I’ve since removed the gamstop and made the company aware am I likely to receive my winnings?

For context I am completely in control of my gambling and I was genuinely unaware of the fact the gamstop was still active and the reason I was allowed to gamble was because I’ve moved to a new address and used my details registered here.

For context I am completely in control of my gambling and I was genuinely unaware of the fact the gamstop was still active and the reason I was allowed to gamble was because I’ve moved to a new address and used my details registered here.

Sadly they are obliged to return deposits and not pay winnings as GAMSTOP doesn't officially end on the day the time period elapses, but the day after you call them or arrange the block to be removed. So any inaction after the expiry date simply means you are considered to be Gamstopped still.

Yes sadly can confirm Dunover is correct. Your Gamstop registration and thus self exclusion period automatically renews after each period, until such time you inform Gamstop you want it to end.

@djw03 - It's unusual for you to be able to register at a UK licenced casino while a member of Gamstop. Can I correctly assume you used different details that you had registered with Gamstop?

Unusual, but perfectly possible Mark. I know, as I opened a Bet365 account a few years back, as they were streaming on their site a Bristol City game, also allowed me to deposit a tenner and place a bet, so I could view the stream.

Same details as used to register my Gamstop account. Which is still active FYI
