hi

New to this and looking for some advice.

I have made a decent winning at a online casino but they can’t withdraw this money back to my original payment method(MasterCard) is this ok to be sent to my bank account? I’m scared that it’s gojng to raise suspicions as this will be my second large ish deposit into a new bank account from an online casino?
Once the money landed the first time I used it to pay off my credit card?

It should be fine to go to the bank account if it can't go to M/C (some cards allow it back to them, most don't). Moving forward, i think the UKGC are to possibly ban CC deposits into casinos AFAIK, so you won't have that issue in the future ;).

If you're bank asks you anything, just tell them: it's a casino win ;) Obviously each bank has their own Money Laundering checks that they do so, as long as you're not, you'll be fine.

Was someone mentioning on here that their bank were closing down their bank account (whether that was to do with the number of transactions relating to gambling i don't know) but personally i only a bank account to pay/play and never had any problems but if i get a letter one day stating 30 days to closure I wouldn't be overly surprised.

Hi thanks for your reply. I feel that this 30 days closure secaniro May happen soon to me! My credit card has pages and pages of gambling transactions, in fact that’s all I ever use it for! Only thing I can say is that I have never gone over the limit or missed a payment! However when I look into this online you hear of people been served these as it scares the banks etc. Some even to the extremes of been issued a cat 6 makers for abuse of account! My intention is to clear my balance once I receive this win and close down my credit card! Hopefully this will prevent anything like that happening!
I admit I am struggling with gambling now and have raked up some hefty balances that I need to now finally sort and give this habit up!

It's easily done with CC's - been there myself many, many moons ago. It's only when you get the text that says 'you are nearing you're limit' that reality sinks in and you realise something needs done. What you may find with the CC's is that, if you use for gambling, they may not raise limits as much as they would do for someone who buys something on them/pays off, they may lower your limit etc.

You could ask them, if you wished to keep the CC, to block gambling transactions or simply cash transactions - some of them allow you a % of your credit card to be used as cash, the rest purchases. But given your situation it may be best (only you can decide) to just cut it off completely (though there's nothing to stop you re-applying so whatever it is you'll need to be committed to stopping anyhow :))

There's some threads on here about Gamstop that you may want to look at to help you kick the habit as well.

Concentrate on getting the balances down on them - it'll be worth it: trust me ;)

Great advice and it’s so warming to see that people are understanding. It’s an awful cycle to get in, but I am determined to kick this once and for all!
It’s the other stuff that gives me great anxiety, I was never aware of things like misuse of accounts, cifas until I started researching gambling habits online and then it all started to dawn on me. I get this almighty pressure in my chest and feel my blood rushing through me, it’s an awful awful feeling, and only a feeling I can subside myself!
I believe with the credit card that once it’s paid off with this win then it’s time to close the account and I feel that will give me the best chance of temptation!
Thanks for your advice

You're not going to get a CIFAS mark for spending a few quid in a casino (only if someone else is using your personal details ;))

All you've done up until this point is spend on a CC :)

Least you've recognised the signs and tbh if it's causing you physical issues then you know it's time to get out: you'll have more money, you'll have more time and be able to resume any hobbies/interests that maybe have been neglected due to the deposits in casinos etc: in other words, you'll be better off than the rest of us ;)

Good luck
