Just because the promotion of gambling is prohibited in Tik Tok doesn’t mean talking about anything to do with gaming, esports teams and the games they play, professional poker players, strategy chat, fantasy sports, etc is outlawed. Similarly, ‘how-to manuals’ are also permitted.
Aim for knowledge rather than promotion and you can reach the audience you are interested in.

The ways you can go about this, include:
  • Live streams - Not only can your affiliates spend their time entertaining audience members, but there is also the option to record the stream and cut it up into highlights. These will do very well in a short-form video format like, say, the format of TikTok.
  • News and insights. For more snippet ideas, your igaming content can focus on news. There is no promotion there, merely the sharing of information.
  • Tailor your content to the location and lifestyle. Then again, you do not have to make content around a certain topic at all. Lifestyle influencers are more common than influencers with a niche, and the benefit of them is they attract all sorts of people and all types of brand deals.
  • Partner with influencers and brand ambassadors. Use other people’s influence! Since there are tight restrictions associated with advertising guidelines, ensure you follow other creator accounts which can add value to your brand.

Tik Tok is the streamlined perfection of human stupidity and lack of attention span, so it makes perfect sense for streamers to shill their wares there!

I mean most of its users have barely above room temperature IQs, plus with things being in a shortened format, those magnificent £20 stakes and subsequent £1million+ balances will be even more impactful.

With, say, Twitch, one had to also endure the humdrum bits of slotting before the big hits came and the dancing ensued, whereas here, it's near- enough instant, to really give that realistic portrayal of high- stakes betting!

I for one am very excited at affiliates' opportunities to exploit this platform, and even better, safe in the knowledge that the Chinese government is overseeing everything like a watchful, wise guardian 🙏

I think even thinking about promoting something as harmful as gambling on tiktok with its primarily young audience is pretty disgraceful
Youngsters only get the content that match their age. People of 18 y.o. are treated as adults in the gambling industry 🤓

I wonder if there might be a more brilliant comment than this one

Gambling tiktok pages, especially with any affiliate links etc get banned quite fast usually. Also, if you don’t already have an established following, there’s really no chance any of those will convert to actual paying players

I am waiting for the new lesbian piglet in Peppa Pig to be counselled for a slots addiction picked up on her phone via Tik Tok, coming out also as bipolar crypto player who has pilfered daddy pig's payment account to feed her habit, resulting in the whole drove being evicted from their sty and seeking rehoming in Stoke Newington's urban farm, despite intense islamic protests.

Masterpiece

not quite kids can sign up and put a fake age which millions do therefore your point is moot.
True. I guess this point is being discussed constantly when we talk about age restrictions in social media. What more concerns me is that we tend to associate gambling with addiction. Where is this line between adulthood and responsible gaming, appropriate ad channels and promotion of potentially additive games among young people (taking into account that 18 y.o. is a minimum point in gambling/betting industry)?

P.S. personally i don't support the idea that it is a good channel to promote gambling. The article is more a topic for discussion.

Don't really know enough about the platform to vote, but shouldn't the responsibility lie with the platform to say what content can be promoted?

If it's a yes, a responsible affiliate should have no problem using it because they already have the systems in place to protect a younger audience from the content.

I think the problem lies with irresponsible affiliates and websites. You can't compensate for these crooks all the time. Tackle the route of the problem, not the social media platform.

Bucketloads of irresponsible websites that don't age-gate their stuff on youtube, yet claim to be responsible and not target youngsters. Unfortunately, when weighing up a few extra hundred views, or in some cases thousands, greed takes over, and any potential after-effects are brushed aside and forgotten by many.

Still, it's great to know that esports teams, professional poker players, strategy chat, and fantasy sports are welcome topics.
