Why is it so got damn hard to hit that round

I bet $2 got an 11 dealer has 5 showing. I doubled get's a 5 for 16, dealer gets 18. It went down hill from that point on...LMAO (Im SICK)! I manage to get my deposit back plus $4 and cashed out.

I've learned to not worry about hitting a nice round number before quitting. After experiences such as this, then having a big hit on slots only not to win because you were only playing a few lines to get rid of the odd cents...well, it's not worth it.

Odd you should mention this for I do the same thing. I NEVER go lower than $30 dollars in slots (give or take a few pennies) before I move to blackjack to pump up my bankroll and when I hit $50+ I leave quickly and go back to slots. I have gone over $100 many times when the streak was hot. If I play lower than $30, I lose it all but if I start playing at$30, I make a nice bundle to go back to slots.

When I cash out, I take a nice round number..such as if my balance is 301.25, I withdraw $300 and go back and play down the remainder to 0. This way I know I have my nice round number waiting for me. No need to wait..Just withdraw and play out your remaining balance this way the temptation to play until you reach that round number is gone and it usually is never reached anyway.

I try and do the same thing LOL.....Ill have (for the sake of argument) $30.86, Ill do 2 40cents and if I have 6 cents, Ill do 6 lines at 1cent to make it even. It's stupid and I know it's stupid, but that's how our minds work

Ive learned to do what the last post mentioned. Take out the even amount out and play out the rest.

I used to do that too. Most of the time I'd make it to the even dollar amount. The nightmarish experiences occurred when I'd be $1 short of an even number. I'd bet $1 on BJ and lose, then bet $2 on BJ and lose, then bet $4... . After a few experiences like that, I changed. Now, if I'm going to cash out on an even number, I'll only bet the house minimum. I'll cash out when I hit a multiple of 5, so I never lose or gain more than $5.

Round Numbers

A round number can also be a FLOOR - you don't have to reach your ceiling target.
In this case, you wanted $350, you could have said, "right, i'll go for it, but if luck deserts me I'll cash-out at an even better round figure of $300".

My own OCD is much improved now, I consider hundreds as a round number, and can even bear to cash-in on a 50!

After extensive RTG phantom bonus therapy over the summer, I am coming to terms with accepting that a cash-in will result in a number that could possibly end in a 5!!! - I could never do this before (RTG requires that EVERYTHING is cashed out or played to zero before another promotion can be claimed)

When RTG'ing, I will often play a slot to get my chipcount down to an even .00 before cashing out. I particularly like to use the Achilles slot, because I never win. It is, so to speak, my Achilles heel.

I managed through sheer strength of will to force myself to cash out (gasp) $225 last week. When I first started gambling I felt I could only cash out even $100's. Through vigorous desensitization training (losing all my damn money trying to reach the golden increment), I have managed to become comfortable with cashing out in $50 increments. I am working on cashing out in $25 increments, but really don't think I'm going to ever be comfortable with that...

That's where I am right now. I always deposit a multiple of $500 (generally $1500-$2000), and usually don't cash out unless I'm up or down $500.

If I manage to get up by at least $500, that becomes my floor (I won't leave without winning at least $500). If I'm on a roll, every multiple of $500 becomes my new floor. If I get up over $1000, then I won't leave with less than a $1000 win, etc, etc. I've pushed through the various floors using this method, and have won as much $10,000 in a single blackjack session (once).

The only exception is if I have am having a bad session and keep playing (through greed or stupidity), and am down to my last few hundred bucks, then manage to push my balance back up to my original deposit. I'll often cash out at this point breaking even, and feeling darn good about it. One time I deposited $5000 and was down to my last $100. I managed to get it back up to $5010 and cashed out with a $10 win. I felt as lucky as if I had a big win.
