Where can I get a cheap computer?

I am at my dads right now, my computer has a virus or something, I don't know ANYTHING about computers. I should have been born in the 40's, I'm in the wrong generation. ;)

We have 3 computers and none of them are working properly! Upstairs is the main one (the other 2 run off) and it's been broke for a few months, one downstairs the one I use has that virus or something, and my daughters laptop which now isn't working properly either!!! Yes I am a complete moron about computers!!! It's just odd that all of a sudden when my computer messes up, my daughters laptop does too? Isn't that odd? I was assuming that the laptop runs off the one upstairs just like mine?

I HATE COMPUTERS!!!

Does anyone know where I can get a cheap desktop? Nothing fancy, just good enough for surfing the web, gambling and checking email?

Thanks in advance.

Walmart...I think I saw some reasonable ones there. I also bought a Toshiba laptop one time just for that very reason at Best Buy for under $400. Hope that helps!

Since all the computers on your home network are down, sounds like it probably is a virus problem.

Depending on the age of the computers, I would suggest getting them fixed. Look in your yellow pages for Computer Repairs, or check listings on Kijiji in your area.

It's usually cheaper to bring a PC to the repair person than to have them come to your home, but for three PCs and setting up a more secure network, you might consider somewhere that does onsite.

My first three computers were "broken" and free to me...two were boot sector viruses, and another just clogged up so badly with spyware that it crawled.

If you do decide to junk your computers or give them away, pull out the hard drive(s), or have someone do a zero level format on them.

take the tower 's to best buy and they have always run a (is it fixable test right there on the counter before any money exchanges ] then explore your options

ive had this e machine 2002 build and only run one protection suite only

you see each other protection suite norton, MCafee etc they recognize each other as a virus

ive had very good luck with the one i get for free with my isp provider and itsMc Affee its encountered many many unwanted bugs and refused to let them enter the system
fire wall is a must
good luck R C

Just stopped by dads again to see if anyone replied....thank you all!

I cannot live without a computer, I'm going nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will check out all the fantastic options you all gave me and keep you updated.

I can't remember what the "virus" actually said, but I know it had the word trojan in it and also there is a little symbol at the bottom of my computer near the time and it keeps popping up to scan my computer, then wants me to buy something, it wont go away, I don't know how to get rid of it.

This all happened after I went to GoWild Casino and downloaded a game I have never played, the virus IMMEDIATELY popped up and my computer has been messed up ever since...and what's even stranger, I downloaded GoWild on my daughters laptop about a month ago and her computer got a virus and had to be fixed by a professional.

Both desktops are about 10 years old and laptop is brand new!

Ok, so when I go to get a new or now refurbished what do I need for gaming?

I mean the GHC/RAM and all that stuff? I don't even know what that stuff is...hahahahaha, I just need a computer that lets me gamble/check email/come to casinomeister and surf the web, and hook up a printer...I'm pretty easy and simple. :D

I do not mind a refurbished one, I can't believe how cheap they are!!!!!! I just need to know which one to get?
