I have been having quite a bit of luck on the horses recently and my net withdrawls have surpassed my net deposits on Paddy Power do bookmakers monitor accounts when this happens and will they look to close my account.

Just curious as this has never happened to me before.

They Almost certainly will start monitoring it and your betting patterns and activity, but a good site wouldn't close it unless they thought you was using some advantage / cheating / colluding etc.

That said my mate was over £60,000 up on sports betting on one of the well known sites over about an 8 month period, before they closed his account with the reason of words to the effect of "they no longer wanted his business" Which of course they are within their rights to do so.

They might but will depend more on what your bets are than you winning. If you are backing 33/1 shots the night before that get backed into 5/1 before the race you won't last long. If you are picking horses 10 mins before a race and the price stays stable you are unlikely to have a problem. Backing bad EW bets is the short way to restrictions too.
If you're backing singles, use Betfair exchange and you will be fine.

For sure they will look at it. If it’s obvious you just hit a lucky streak and you are backing quite a few horses you won’t have a problem. If you are being very selective and only backing a couple a week with a high strike rate they will look a lot closer. If you continue to take considerable amounts off them over a period of time it’s very likely they would close your account.

I have always backed each way horses that go out in betting which is why I had 9/1, 10/1, 20/1 and 9/1 winners today being doing this for 15 years so not a new practice for me plus I am a low roller on horses just £1-£2.50 each way so I am not betting a shed load.

Isn't Betfair and Paddy Power part of the same group now?
I almost exclusively use Paddy Power for my sports betting and after checking I have lost way more than I thought on the Gee Gee's :(
However I have more faith in Paddy Power than any other Sports betting site should I miraculously get very lucky.
If it was Bet365 then it would be another matter ( not that they would see a penny out of me)

When I see long shots go further out in the betting I tend to avoid them!

Bad move mister believe me I have done this for a few years now it works well I look at it this way and today proves it can work, the morning odds are done by professionals who know what they are doing the afternoon SP comes from drunk punters on the racecourse who will pick the name before the horse so the odds go out and I always back each way.

I generally stick to lucky 15's or lucky 31's either each way or win. But as far as I understand the racecourse punters don't have as much influence on the odds as online and bookie punters and they are not all drunk?
Regardless, your obviously getting much better luck than me.
This past week seems to have been a favourite backers

Doesn't always work last week I gave up at 3pm as I couldn't even get a place horse but when it works it works.

It used to work like that, now most companies follow Betfair, and most back/lay on there to minimise losses too. If you have the money you can quite easily manipulate the markets, if you watch them carefully you can actually see it going on.

Yes but you can win a million bets in the exchange in a row and you will be fine, you are winning from other punters, and paying betfair a percentage, more you win, more you pay them so they have in interest in limiting you :)

You will be safe enough for now I imagine :)

They certainly won’t be looking at your account with a magnifying glass with that betting pattern you have nothing to worry about. I used to know the horses like the back of my hand. I was really into it. I spent a couple of hours a day studying form. I even developed my own system based on stats. It was pretty complicated but it picked some amazing winners at some great prices. @geordiecolin talking about L15’s etc reminds me of my worst ever day as a punter. It would have been coming up around 23 or 24 years ago 1995 or 96. Somewhere around there. It was the start of the flat season and pretty sure it was the first day at Doncaster. I had £10 spare for a bet. I always used to bet to get large returns for little outlay. Quite a difficult thing to balance and not often the best strategy for maximising profit unless you are mighty lucky. I had never managed a large win. On this particular day the fields were massive. As I remember 16 runners plus in just about every race. I glanced through the runners and thought it’s a bit of a lottery the start of the flat so I will go with what I know. A horse I followed called Kinoko ran in the first. It was trained on the Isle of Wight and would come over run 2 or 3 times in a week and generally win once at a big price. It had run twice that week and hadn’t placed. Jack Berry had a few runners and usually had his horses fit for the start of the season so I picked Amron and I think it was Goretski or Gorinsky (he trained both can’t remember for sure). Another called Super Dominion which had been running on the all-weather in the winter so it would be fit. There was also a jumps meeting and Oliver Sherwood had a runner I think it was called Country Style. The sixth horse I don’t remember. I wrote my bet out 5p ew L63 and 5p win L63 on the same 6 horses. I then did something I hardly ever did. My luck hadn’t been great and I only had £10 ( paid monthly then). I looked at the size of the fields and the chances of winning, screwed my bets up and binned them. The results were as follows and I am vomiting now as I type. Kinoko won 33-1, Amron won 12-1, Goretski won 10-1 Super Dominion won 14-1 and Country Style won 11-2. That’s the reason I don’t remember the 6th horse because it came nowhere. I remember working the bet out and it came to around £100,000 for £9.15. Obviously that was my once in a lifetime chance and I missed it. All the details might not be spot on but they ain’t far away as even 20 odd years on it haunts me everyday.

Something similar happened to me except I they all won and I didn't put the bet on. Back in 1990 and on a day off during Glorious Goodwood week CH4 showed 5 races live from that meeting. I was sent to a training course which was an all dayer. I had my horses all marked out for an each way Canadian but I couldn't get the bet on. They all won ranging in price from 16-1 to about 11/2.
That is the closest I ever got to getting a big priced 5 timer up :(

I've had a few close calls, best one that went my way was last year, did a (from memory) £1 Yankee and a £4.50 EW accumulator on Sean Bowen's 4 rides one Saturday. Also did a few singles and doubles and was about £500 in profit before the last one ran (first 3 won). Needed to go out but as there was £6k+ at stake hung about and watched as he lead all the way and got beaten on the line by about a head by the favourite :(
Went out, had left £50 in my Skybet account, when I came back decided to put my Sunday footie bets on, logged in, balance £6700, wtf! Checked the result, stewards enquiry, winner disqualified so Sean got the 4 timer! 4/1, 7/1, 4/1 and 5/2

I have a feeling my pre-season footie bet will be one of those 'so close' bets at the end of the season, all my teams are up there, but all just off the top really, might see what skybet offer me as a cash out price in the next few weeks if the results go my way, £30 staked, £130k if all 4 win, £1k if they all get placed, currently 2nd, 3rd (1 game in hand), 1st (2 games in hand) and 2nd (1 game in hand)
