When going to a casino, how much do you bet on slots at a time

Recently, I was a Twin River in Rhode Island. I usually play 1 cent machines but I had $400 I won on a penny machine so I decided to go for the $1 machines. Big Mistake. I went home with $30 I kept for the toll road, food and gas.

Anyone else ever had this happen at this casino or any casino in general? Also, what is peoples favorite bet amount on slots? Mine is 1 and 5 cent slot machines.

Boy, What a loaded question!!!! LOL

It depends for me. SOmetimes I have a nice bankroll for my time there (for me, its the Trop) and other times I have to be conservative. I can tell you this. I HATE 5 cent machines. I will play 1 cent (not often in a land based), 25cent (most of the time) 50cent (rarely) $1 very rarely, $5 I will take a $20 (only after a win) go to the high limit room and pick one machine and do 4 pulls.

5 cent machines kill me!!!! I get confused for some reason. I can honestly say that I play 25cent machines 90% of my trips. I love Let it Ride table game but can only afford $5 min tables since you need $16 a hand

I used to play $.25 up to $1.00 machines. And had a once in a lifetime win on a $5.00 machine. Played it like Babs said, took $20, played one coin per pull and hit 3 Red Cherries for $5000.

Now I mainly play $.01 machines. Sometimes max, sometimes not. I have found that the machines where I play hit better if you don't play max, or could just be in my head.

It's all relative to the amount of money I have on hand to play with.

I assume you mean Land Based, since you said "going"

I mostly go by bus, and am there for at least 4 hours. I like to go with at least $100, and rarely return with any, since I love the play. I do go with less sometimes, if I am just itching for a day out of town. I just look at it as a day out.

In most B&M's pennies pay the worse, although are set to give playtime by returning, e.g 12 cents on a twenty cent bet.

I mostly play video nickle slots (because I love the bonus rounds) and 3 coin 25 cent three reelers. If I bring $100 to a casino, I usually play at least $20 in dollar machines, (old school, 2 or 3 coins) and move on from a video slot if I don't hit the feature in $20.

If I go for a multi-day visit, I try to have $150 per day, including some of it spent on the bar (I live in Ontario the Good, we don't get free drinks)

I always stick to .01/.02 video slot machines...and .25/3 coin-1 line machines...

How do you figure you need $16 a hand? If you end up not making a hand, you're looking to pull back 2 wagers, which would leave your loss at $1 for the bonus and $5 for the single (original) wager left up there....the only time you'll have $16 on the table is if you have a draw from the beginning and bet on every card....

I used to play quarter slots, one quarter at a time. I prefer the regular reel slots to the video ones in a real casino. That was when you got actual quarters instead of a pay slip. I'd put a $20 in and be entertained for hours as my busket of coins grew and shrank. Sometimes I'd cash out, sometimes not, but I always ended up with filthy fingers, and it was good. Now I play mostly video poker. Actually I hardly ever play because the casinos have become so stingy.

I mainly play the 1c or 2c machines myslef and if I get up then go play some black jack and then maybe come back and hit the slots again, still playing the 1-2c machinies but up my bet to say 3,4 $5 bucks per spin for a few hundred and then if no luck I will just keep drinking and go watch the horses or something, im a lot better at the land based casino's than iam online... i usually get drunk and when I do i dont gamble as much

Doesnt Matter As Long as you Play max credits!

I worked in the casino industry I was in the table games dept. One day while in the break room I asked the same question to a slot manager! He said play the game you like but allways play max just incase you do hit the jackpot! So if I had four hundred dollars I would decide how long I was going to stay at the casino. Divide that into your per hour budget. I can spend 100 and hour for four hours just as an example. Then I would decide my machine. Penny maxed out credits would be? Nickle machine maxed out credits would be? Divide that into your 100 dollars would it last for an hour if your machine did not hit? Thats how I decide what machine and what denonination. With that info sometimes a 2 credit $1 machine could last longer than a 30 line max credit nickle or penney. When going to a casino money management is the key to winning. :notworthy If I win then I decide do I want to Now divide my new bankroll into the hours remaining at the casino and move up in value on slots.

I play .01, .02 and .05 machines normally. Take 1k bucks with me to Vegas one time a year.
Playing at GER is to expansive, so i already try to deny any visit at a casino here or even in central europe.

Playing the slots

I play the penny slots to pass the time (and money) away. I don't play nickels nor quarters. When I get serious I play one and five dollar machines.
There is one ten dollar machine I like but it takes two coins to hit the feature, so that is $20 a pull. I limit my play on it, but I have won good money on it. I will play $1 progressive Wheel of Fortune for a short period of time since you have to play $3 to hit the jackpot. Most of the $$$$ played on a progressive machine goes toward the progressive, so the payback isn't too good unless you get the spin feature. If a machine isn't paying I will move to another one. Basically from my freeplay and gaming budget I play enough of the dollar machines to ensure we are asked back and get comp'd for everything. I will try for a bigger win for a limited time on the more expensive machines. When I am finished with them I will be back at the pennies.
