Do you guys set some rules for yourselves?

If I triple my deposit etc.. I will withdraw?

I have often asked myself. What if I always did that.. How many great wins would I have missed out on and how many times
did it backfire by being to greedy and I lost it all.

What is a reasonable x deposit before withdrawal in your eyes?

PS: If I didn't set any rules like that this hobby would be extremely expensive:)

If I`m playing with a bonus and I am able to reach the WR I cash out. If I play with my own money I cash out after 100% + or more when I hit big.

Cheers

if I deposit 50 my withdrawals start at 300 (if I'm lucky!) the next amount would be 500 then 750, 1000 etc, so if I get it up to 990 I might play it down to 750, really depends on how the casino is feeling....

After any big win (500X or more average bet size $1.20-$1.50) and I play it down to the nearest increment of $500.00, or in some double win cases up to the next $500. Often $1000.00 but sometimes in the 2-2.5K range :)
Then the battle with myself begins...... reverse withdrawal is public enemy #1 lol

excellent question

This morning I was playing with 150 bonus, in the first 1/2 hour, I was up to 800.00, knowing I can win up to 1500, I played on. 3 card poker 5 dollars/ante -5/pair plus. 20 minutes later I was down to 300, played BJ at 10 bets and lost another 100. Went back to 3 card betting 2 ante and 3 pair plus, lost it all. I guess I should've stopped at 800, but in my mind I had another 600 to go. Is this type of thinking wrong?

This IS what makes the difference in a winner and a loser

If only I had followed this rule consistently in my gambling career--both online and live gaming.

It's the 2/3s or 3/4s rule and it is a very simple concept.

How much you deposited really is not a major factor. You must determine for you a minimum amount you consider to be a worthwhile withdrawal. For some it may be $100. For others $300, $500, $1000, or more.

Once you hit that threshold NEVER give back more than 1/3 for a more liberal gambler. The more conservative choice is 1/4.

Let's say my "threshold" is $1000. I should withdraw either two third or three fourths. I will continue to play on the remaining portion. If I hit the threshold again I take my 1/3 or 3/4s rake again.

Never NEVER reverse a withdrawal.

It sounds SO very simple and in fact it is a simple and extremely effective money management technique. Of course the reality is that in practice it is MUCH more difficult to adhere to on a consistent basis. If only I had done so over the years.

I hope this helps.

Difficult question...

I guess it all depends on your mood, how you feel about the games you are playing etc.

My general rule is that I need to at least 3x my deposit to make it worthwhile unless my deposit was something bigger than $200-300. In that case sometimes I`m happy with 2x.

it kinda depends about what kinda bonus it is but i would say that if i deposit 50€ and get 50€ bonus then i want atleast +200€ profit, on rtg casinos its +300-400€ profit because they remove bonuses and on own money i make withdraw when i feel good

If I make a £25 deposit with no bonus, I can happily cashout as soon as I reach £50. Call it small ball if you wish, but it has served me well in recent months. But obviously, that approach is not to everyone's taste.

I nearly always deposit and withdraw amounts that are in multiples of 25. So I tend to go for a minimum target withdrawal of deposit x 2 + £25 or deposit plus bonus + £25. I know that doesn't sound exciting, but if it...

helps me get my gambling fix at a cheaper price ie fewer deposits per cashout (which it usually does), and
helps keep the losing streaks shorter (which it usually does) and
helps me "live to slot another day" (which it usually does)

....then I can live with it.

I'd like to bet bigger, take bigger risks and set loftier withdrawal goals. But my budget, my winrate and my desire to get good playtime
does not allow me to do that. So I settle for the next best thing. Min betting, grinding and small balling :)

i mostly play with a bonus so after i finished wagering i cash in if im below my deposit after wagering i play more and try to make a small profit

if its a deposit without a bonus when i get a good win i withdraw 80% and keep the 20% to play an goes on

once it worked well i withdrawn 10 blokes of 100 from 50 deposit :)

I make many small deposits to get the bonuses, try to make the rollover and if done I withdraw even if I am 2.5X-3X my deposit.
This way you may not play it to extremes and get huge wins, but at least I have a bankroll to be able to play almost every day without destroying my gambling capital after a bad streak of let's say 5-7 deposits.

Ive nether went on to a game thinking I will withdraw if I hit a certain amount, 99% of the time I am in profit like 5 - 10x my deposit and think I will just round it up than withdraw, before you no it I have spent every penny,

So I am desperate in need of new tactics,

I still use the '75% of peak balance' method after doubling a deposit or clearing WR.
So, I deposit £50 say, assuming WR (if any) is cleared when I reach £100 I take that as my starting point. If I start to lose, then £75 is when I w/d. Say I get down to £80 and then win £40 making my balance £120, then 75% of the £120 (£90) becomes my w/d point and so-on. This means I can capitalize on good runs and gives me a get-out point when things change and ensures I cash-out a profit.

You can do worse than (along with some self-discipline) using the 'Dunover formula' lol.....:)

Myself..

I need at least 3x deposit. Unless I have deposited large (over 300 euro, extreme rare) then 2x is OK.

The months where I always cash in at 3x, without exception I am actually ahead in 2014:)

The 4500 euro/ 1,8 euro bet, Bruce Lee Money burns double feature with top paying symbols helped a lot.

So did 5 scatters, 2500 euro/1.08 euro bet on DOA.

Last year (2013), now that was a horror story. Mostly because of no discipline or "rules/plans" for withdrawal.

My typical deposit is 40-120 euro. I often hit more then 3x because of the machines i play. If you play like I do Bruce Lee (Money Burns), Wish Master, GOT, Jurassic Park, Immortal Romance, DoA you either hit big or go home empty handed:) I accept that, and it has worked out this year. I find lower variance games less entertaining.

Cheers!

As a USA player... I like to clear at least $150.

let's say I take a 100% bonus on a $100 deposit. (Actually I wouldn't use anything less.) After meeting 30x b+d WR :eek2:... And allowing for at least $150 in fees (my bank and casino), and the casino removing the $100 bonus... I always figured I had to have at least a withdrawal of $500 - $100 bonus - $150 fees = $250... and even then, that only leaves me $150 profit. And clearing bonuses are very hard to do, and at RTG they're removed, so don't play with them much.

So... I deposit $50 straight up, no bonus. Then I figure I must have something like $350 to make a withdrawal worthwhile.

Well sometimes i mess up my own rules... But usually it is like this:

With a Bonus = Cash out after WR are met if at least 5x starting amount
Without a Bonus = Always when i reach 5x starting amount i cash out and then play with the rest, if i start with 100 and i reach 522$ i would probably cash out 400$ and play with the rest...

If i'm playing with a bonus ill be happy with doubling the deposit amount, and will cashout when i'm done wagering.

if that's going pearshaped i might even adjust my withdrawal tactics to getting my deposit back or busting out trying :p

If i have a huge win ill probably play on/down to the nearest 100, and then cashout
