What's up with Neteller, Moneybookers etc?

Hi all,

Are these establishments to be trusted anymore? I for one will be moving back to credit card deposits.

Many of us have had Neteller problems. I just deposited to Lucky Nugget my favorite casino, and had that problem where the money disappeared from my Neteller account but did not show up in my casino account. I got the NT code etc and contacted all the support desks, it's been 24 hrs still no sign of my deposit.

What about Moneybookers? They locked my account because of a declined credit card deposit (which happens frequently with internet payments regardless of card status), and I have contacted them several times over several weeks. It's been about 3 weeks, and they have chosen not to respond to ANY of my e-mails.

It makes me anxious that a banking establishment (Moneybookers) has a copy of my passport, copy of my credit card, exact info of my bank accounts, and locks my account and completely ignores my repeated attempts to contact their support...I have asked them to shut down my account and destroy my sensitive personal information, but they have chosen not to respond. And it's been several weeks.

I've read about serious problems with Click2Pay as well, unauthorised credit card charges etc...haven't used them myself though.

Are these companies to be trusted? Neteller has worked well thus far, but they have serious problems with their technology. And if one thing can go wrong, another thing can go wrong, and I'm not going to trust them with thousands of EUR of my hard-earned money if they can't get their act together.

On the other hand - cheques are not without problems either. My bank raised some serious eyebrows when I presented them with a Belle Rock group cheque. It was stamped in Lebanon! They did accept it, but only because I'm a long-term customer with a stable financial record and I had an equivalent sum of money in my account which they held until the cheque was verified. Maybe they thought I was selling arms or something...lol

32red has paid my winnings back to my credit card, at least up to 2200 which is the biggest I've won. What about if I win 20,000 (yeah, that'll be the day..)? Will the credit card company accept that kind of a payment? Come to think of it, my bank representative would probably have a good laugh if I presented them with a cheque of 20,000 from a bank in Lebanon!

I'll emphasize that I have but positive experiences with Belle Rock and 32red. Other than being on the losing side that is...but that's gambling..

Ended up a longish post...sorry

Yes i too had that problem with NETeller today. Got the NT code and 32Red credited my account in 15 minutes flat as usual. But its becoming increasingly common :(

Oh well..

Hmm.. Lucky nugget informed me that it's going to take another 24 hours AT LEAST to process my transaction due to the large number of similar cases...

That's slow. Let's hope they find the money. Maybe credit card + 32 red next time?

Bugs in the system

** Boys and girls, here is what is going on with Neteller. They updated in upgraded their system, which, as per expectation, threw out a few bugs. Then when they fixed these, it caused another few problems. I would not say that they are not to be trusted, but I would say that they are teething on their new upgrades and problems are a bit worse than they thought. I truly hope that THAT is the only problem with this. I don't really think they actually foreseen this... This is also causing a lot of problems for the Casinos, as one could expect! I have no advice, and can merely tell you what I know, and this is it. Let's hope it gets sorted out sooner rather than later. **

The biggest problem here is that it is up to us to have to spot that the money went out. Up until recently whenever i saw that "problem connecting to NETeller" message at 32Red or wherever, i just tried again - didn't think to check if it had actually been debited by NETeller or not but short of going through every one of several hundred transactions ver the past 7 months, what can you do :(

I think this is wholly unacceptable. It's a bank we're talking about, at least for all practical purposes. Bugs or no bugs, I'm not using Neteller anymore, until I'm completely assured it's reliable. It's our money. Imagine what life would be like if you had to check and recheck your own bank account to see if some of your money was lost. Then you would have to chase after your money with some code you got from the bank when you called them to ask "Excuse me but do you happen to have any idea where my money is?"

I have had problems with Neteller.

Now I take a screen picture every time I update my Neteller records.
