Hi Guys,

My company I work for has recently baught a Greyhound dog for racing and for Marketing PR.

They are holding a competition inhouse and we gotta send in names and the best name wins a prize.

I dont suppose any of you have some names in mind that you could shoot my way.

Some that have already been thrown about are

Nads- so when he is coming down the home straight everyone yells GONADS!!!

my face - so when he is coming down the home staright everyone yells

COME ON MY FACE!!

as you can tell there is some dirty oones going about and I dont think managment will accept them, they will have a chuckle but we need something a bit more placid but catchy

Ohhhhhhhh my kind of topic!!!

We have owned many greyhounds, and all of ours were named after someone in our family, a mixture of everyones name. (they have always had the first 2 names then we added on the last) My father has owned many greyhounds as well, he makes up great names!!! Sometimes he mixes the parents of the pups name together, or names them after family. If you follow greyhound racing there are MANY with the name Kiowa, those are all owned by the same people, they just add something to Kiowa.

So I was thinking if it's for racing and for Marketing PR, it should probably be something with your companies name in it, so then everyone knows. It may be hard for us here to help if you don't want to name your company (if you want to go with the company name somehow)

When picking out names you have to pick 3 names not just one, in case your first name is used. You normally get your first pick, but you never know.

Are you getting a pup or a track ready dog? I'm assuming it's a track ready dog seeing as your company is using it for PR, because if you get a pup you have to wait 18 months before s/he is ready.

PM me if you want and I will tell you our best and favorite dogs name, he lives with us now (because of course it has the owner listed) and you can even look him up and watch his races :D My husband watched them again last night, and he hasn't raced in almost 2 years. And maybe even my dad can come up with a good name if you feel comfortable telling me the company name.

p.s. the name can't go over 16 letters including spaces.

WOW!!

some really great point theres just play cheers

Well I dont think it is any secret, I work for www.centrebet.com and am a supervisor in the sports department.

I know what you mean about having the same name, we have one here as well, BALE have a look at our race meetings and nearly every melbourne meet there is a least on BALE dog running around but they just have something differnt in there- for example , one of them is called snowBALE and another one is JerseyBALE.

I wonder if the name of the trainer would happen to be Zammit by any chance or Gatt as they are the big name trainers here.

Yr right Id say they want something that people will know is Centrebet's dog.

We are going to buy a horse soon and do the same thing, we are doing a major overhaul on our look and pumping out the marketing stuff as well.

Once again great resonses there Just Play I appreciate that.

I know this isn't a greyhound but the conversation reminded me of it.

I'll go back to my corner now.
