Just received this email from Skrill:

Dear XX,

We wanted to let you know that Skrill has reviewed its operations and reached a decision to cease processing gambling payments in Canada. Payments into gambling merchants will no longer be processed from 2 January, with payments out discontinuing on 31 January.

Merchants have already been notified of this change and we encourage you to withdraw any funds you have in merchant systems before 31 January.

You can still can still redeem your loyalty points and VIP status can be retained through the normal qualifying criteria, as long as use is not within the gambling sector.

Skrill would like to thank you for your custom and hopes that you continue to make use of its services outside of gambling.

Best wishes,

Your Skrill VIP team

I've sent an email to Skrill to verify this is true, but what the hell? Wondering why when we are allowed to gamble online?

There's a whole thread here...

I just received that notice as well. I have been doing everything through Skrill. Wondering how other Canadians are withdrawing their winnings??

Found the other thead....sorry.

Don't Instadebit and UMS work? Or normal bank wire?

My instadebit card hasnt worked yet anywhere for gambling online, might be my bank though - likely is.
Bank wires have fees attached I'm not interested in paying.
Depping in is simple enough - pre paid CCs, it's withdrawing I've got to find an easy solution for

He was talking about Instadebit, an e-wallet just for Canadians, not a regular debit card from a bank.

I used to use Instadebit all the time, but it wasn't accepted at enough casinos so I moved to Skrill. At that time there were no fees for anything, but they've added a $1 per deposit fee if you don't have a balance in your wallet.

Not sure about withdrawal fees, it's been a long time since I withdrew back to my bank using Instadebit, but I remember the bank didn't charge anything because the money was coming from another Canadian bank rather than an international wire transfer.

I was able to talk 32Red into getting Instadebit a while ago, hopefully more will be willing to add it now that Skrill isn't going to be an option for us.
