What shepherds do when they're bored...

Yeah, those dogs are really smart. Flip side? If you do not keep them busy, they will tear your house apart! They are not quiet and easy going critters!

I used to have a border collie - I lived in an apartment so it wasn't that good for him, so I found him a home on a farm. But he used to go nutso over the oddest things. One day I was unpacking groceries and Max came strolling in and saw a loaf of bread on the counter and started barking his fool head off at it. And there was this one German deli in town and they had a sandwich board outside advertising their specials, it was like 5 feet tall and painted like a pig in a chefs hat - Max absolutely hated that pig! I started having to walk on the other side of the street just so he wouldn't attack it, but he'd still see it across the street and yell at it. I remember hoping that the farm he went to didn't have pigs. :o

That's my point, Chayton. They actually go a bit "insane" unless they are tired at the end of the day! That's hysterical about the sign. And the pigs? If he was out there with a bunch of pigs, he would try to herd them. Unfortunately, pigs do not herd like sheep. Would be funny as Hell to watch though! :D

There used to be this show called Working Dogs or Dogs that Work or something like that - one episode the guy had a dog that tried to herd ants if it didn't have anything else. I need a dog like that to herd all the ants living in my backyard over to my neighbor's! Maybe herd the slugs out of my garden too.
