As a result of the new UKGC rules around VIP Programs what will be the future of these programs and what impact will it have on operatos and customers.
Some high level points on the new rules
1. Before a customer enters a VIP program enhanced due diligence needs to be carried out to decide if a customer can afford to be part of the program.
2. Customers cannot be incentivised with bonuses that entice longer sessions or bigger bets
3. Operators cannot offer bonsues based on losses
4. Ongoing monitoring and affordability checks to be carried out on players.
Questions
1. Will players send in payslips/bank statements to allow for affordability checks to be done?
2. How does an operator decide what a player can afford to deposit/lose?
3. Will less incentives mean players will just stop playing with regulated brands and migrate to the black market?
4. What is the measurement of success for this?
