Paul the apostle says in Romans 9:1-3, I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.
Now my point here is not to try to convince or convert, or even to draw attention to anything necessarily pious. But my point is that Paul truly believed that what he believed was true. That is what makes the statement, "For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh" truly profound.
As I get older and start to appreciate things more, I can relate more to Paul and his deep love and burden he has towards his brethren. My own brother in blood, who is two years younger than myself (and also my roommate), just finished eating our 35th Thanksgiving dinner together and it occurred to me that that, although my love may not be as perfected as Paul's was, it is nonetheless very deep indeed, to the point that I can relate to this passage of Scripture.
Although not the only thing, He is truly what I'm thankful for more than anything else. I hope and pray that all the other great people on this forum have something that they can truly be thankful for as well. I hope everybody here as a blessed and truly awesome thanksgiving!
