I’m conducting research for my UX case study and want to understand whether implementing AI in the chat feature would be suitable.:)

I hate interacting with a chat bot. The chat bot is there for generic answers that a FAQ section does already.

If I ask why is my withdrawal being delayed, the AI has no information about my actual case and will not be able to answer me.

This wastes my time and frustrates me even further. Rather Invest in a bigger team for support.

A huge NO for me.

AI in a chat is about as useful as a brown cistern block in your toilet.

It's just as bad when people arrive at this forum using it and we have to mark their posts and regularly ban them.

The people that like AI conversations are the same types who buy those Japanese bespoke lifelike dolls to substitute as girlfriends.

You guys dont know what you are talking about.

AI chatbots offer significant usefulness across various applications by providing immediate information, automating tasks, and improving efficiency[1, 2].
Key aspects of their usefulness include:
  • Instant Availability and Speed: Chatbots are available 24/7 and respond instantly, eliminating wait times for users seeking information or assistance at any hour [1, 2].
  • Automation of Routine Tasks: They can handle a high volume of repetitive queries and tasks (like tracking orders, basic troubleshooting, or answering FAQs), freeing up human workers to focus on more complex issues [2].
  • Scalability: A single chatbot can interact with thousands of users simultaneously, something impossible for a human agent [2].
  • Personalization: AI-driven chatbots can analyze user data and preferences to provide tailored recommendations and experiences, enhancing user engagement [2].
  • Improved Efficiency and Cost Savings: By automating support and streamlining processes, organizations can significantly reduce operational costs and increase overall efficiency [1, 2].
  • Enhanced Customer Experience: They provide quick, consistent, and easy access to information, leading to better customer satisfaction and retention [2].
  • Accessibility: Chatbots can assist users with simple, conversational interfaces, making technology and information more accessible to a broader audience [1, 2].
In essence, AI chatbots serve as powerful tools for enhancing communication, optimizing workflows, and delivering scalable, immediate support in a digital environment [1, 2].

And thats straight from the horse's mouth so it must be true.

I completely agree with you. A lot of companies believe that implementing chatbots reduces the workload for customer support agents. That may be true, but it has a huge effect on the player experience. Most players coming to chat are worried, angry, or want an answer as soon as possible, and then they have to go through a chatbot twice just to get in contact with a real agent.

If companies cant keep with the workload they should just hire more customer support agents.

I have seen some casinos make it as difficult as possible to access Live Chat - sometimes hiding the links deep within the help page.

Some of them set the AI chat up so that you need to go through several hoops until the AI permits chatting with an agent.

Whoever sets these up is not an actual player, nor do they have any interest in customer satisfaction.

It annoys me, it annoys most people I know. It is only helpful for very new customers, but there should always be a quick option to jump to human chat.
Yes, thats one of the main issues.
There should be a clearly visible button somewhere that connects you to a real person, you should not have to convince the chat-bot to connect you. Because as mentioned by others you usually have to ask more than once before it gives up and connects you.

There are other areas in life where ai-technology can lend a helping hand.

My experience has been pretty mixed. Some AI chatbots are great for quick, simple questions, but when it comes to more detailed or specific issues, they often feel generic or limited. Good for basic support, but not a full replacement for real human help.

AI chatbot has always been useless to me. But I also don't come to the chat with an issue I can look up or resolve myself. I'm there because I need a human being to assist me. Why would I want to go to "live" support and be greeted by an AI bot with a list of suggested issues to choose from. Horrible imo. I believe customer service matters in a casino.

It would be interesting to speak to some of the casino reps on here.

Are there any reps whose brands actually use AI Chatbots? How effective is it for you, and does it really reduce the number of queries you have? Or... does it elevate player frustration?

In actual cases I've seen where tech can lend a helping 'other body part' too :)

Bitcasino does, at certain hours when our main office is closed (CS is 24/7). It does reduce queries 100%. And when you tell our bot you need to speak to a human, this happens immediately.

Honestly after threatening to kill it it finally would forward me to a live human. I now know how to get past the rate keeper as like to call it.this is at a slew of site like jackpot city and all those spin group casinos I stopped playing at because of this.
How do you threaten it? I envision a John Cleese as Basil Fawlty style battering with a tree branch on his Austin 1100 in Fawlty Towers.

First, just as you envisioned it is what happend but then uneventfully it hust began me straight up saying those 4 words as I will kill you and it would say hold on. Connecting you.

Before I had attempted the words:
Agent
Live help
Representative
Human
Person
A real human being
Fuck you bot transfer me
Manager
Customer representative
I know a toaster smarter than you
Thats it your dead
Fuck it im going to kill you
Im now going to digitize myself and then send myself to you bot and then kill you and delete you or send you to North Korea or Siberia

Then they would transfer me...

Hope this helps someone :)

AI chat bots are the worst, just closed an online casino account over this issue. Well that was the main reason anyway, they're just horribly frustrating, makes me even madder than the automated responses signed by a live agent knowing good and well there was no live human interaction involved with the support. Always said tech was a good thing, also always said that too much tech would ruin us all, we're about at the end of the laid track, who knows what will happen to us next...

Are you talking about in the casino support situation? or in the real world for any interactions?

I will say for casino support AI chat bots should be outlawed even if they are just used to annoy us to answer the stupid questions before it transfers you to an agent. Some of these casino chat bots are annoying in that even when you keep repeating agent/human/transfer me to an agent. The chat bot ignores it most of the time. Most of them are highly frustrating to get it to transfer you to an agent.

As for real world interactions. I actually do not mind it because when I am trying to find out things or ask more detailed question the google AI mode makes it so much easier now to find the answers without me searching endlessly or scrolling and reading numerous forums/reddits/Quora etc.

Example - say you had a scene from a movie in your head you can use the AI mode in google now to find the movie with that scene in etc. I tested it and it is pretty accurate most of the time.

It has so many other uses as well. Like finding and discussing certain issues or situations or to try help you fix issues with your PC/Laptop or other devices or anything else.

I am not a huge fan of the current AI as a whole but it does make our life so much easier.
