My guy and I have a betting account with Twinspires and we play a little here and there. Anyway, we bet the Preakness Pick 4, a whopping $24 ticket ($.50 pick 4) and promptly forgot about it.

So I go into the website yesterday to run off a form for the Belmont and imagine my surprise when there was a balance in our account of $550. We won the Pick 4 and didn't go back in and check, actually I thought we had missed a race. This was from May 20. What a pair of dummys! So now we are $550 richer.

That's what happens in your old age. :D

lol, how awesome is that! Maybe you should clean out some drawers and check pockets for any lotto tickets you might have forgotten too!

That's awesome! Congrats..now if my husband could find a winning lottery ticket somewhere stashed away:D

15 years ago, I had a $1.6 wager in the mark six lottery and forgot about it. As all bets were stored in the computer I was pleasantly surprised to know I had won 3rd prize and was paid $2500. I have never won anything since but I limit my bets to a maximum of $10 per week only anyway. Maybe one day I will hit something . The jackpots sometimes reach a staggering $15 million but I seldom choose my numbers and only have them generated randomly hoping for a repeat of that 1996 win and getting surprised when I log into my betting account. I just hope I dont forget the password when I get much older.:p

Now this is a good thread. Lots of laughs and no one's bitching. :D

Way I feel some days, I'm lucky to find my behind with both hands. LOL!

Wish ya'll could have seen the look on my face when I saw that money sitting there. I had to close down the sight and reopen it just to make sure.

Hey Chu,

We were at a horse track in Houston, TX several years ago and they were having a pick the winner contest where you picked the winner of so many races and the top prize was $2500.

Long story short, I picked out the races just cause my guy made me, you know like the name, like that name sort of thing. Anyway about a week later I got a letter from the track that I had won 1st place and $2500.

Another time, I played a $2 pick 6 ticket at Hollywood Park in Calif. (pick the winner of 6 races - one in each race is a $2 ticket). Ended up having 5 out of 6 and won $1500. Last horse went off a 50-1. I liked her name.

I have never let the guys forget that I can pick horses as well as they can.

Hell Annie, picking a horse based on name is as good a system as reading the stats sometimes. Seems like the harder I look at the stats, the more nervous I get, hoping the dang horse can repeat itself. And, more often as not, the answer is no! :(

Well the closest I've come to anything lucky like that was one day I opened All Slots casino after not having played for awhile - I clicked the button and went off to pee and came back to deposit $25 and lo and behold - my balance was at $1000!

...and then I realized I'd accidentally hit fun play instead of real.

As far as peeing goes, yep I do it when I giggle. And.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

all of you are making me do more than giggle!!! Damn you all!!! :p

The few times a year my daughter and I go to the racino, I will sit and watch (never had the daring to make a bet). I usually do well in my choices. I know if I did it for real money, instead of fun, I probably wouldn't do so well.

Laughing, sneezing, water running...what is it with the old age that the silliest things make you need to RUN in fear of having an accident??? And forget the frozen food section (I'm as bad as the little ones, I now have to make sure I know where the restroom is in every store in town :D)

i once went down to the track , when i was young and sharp of mind ,,, many years ago lol to back 1 horse , it was my biggest bet of my life at that time $150 the win @ 6 to 1 it got up , mind to say wasted it half on grog that night , 2 weeks later i empty my jacket pockets and find a $5 bookmaker ticket a daily double that paid 800 in total , nice surprise except there where no meetings at the track for another 3 weeks so i couldnt cash it till then ;-) lol

How did I forget THAT one?

Love to share a similar experience. Was in Vegas back in the mid 80's (therein lies proof of my aging as well.lol) I bet a 20.00 straight triple in one of the triple crown races. I think it was the year of Bet Twice and Cryptoclearance but not a vivid memory of order of finish. Spent a few days in Vegas and went to LA and then home to Oahu. The suit I had been wearing that day went into my closet and was forgotten. About 3 weeks later I searched for some cash I had stuck in a pocket and LO AND BEHOLD! a 20.00 winning triple ticket. Triple paid 482 I believe (or close to it) so I won 4700-4800. Even took another trip to Vegas to cash in person. Great memory.

I'll tell ya in 3 days when I will be stepping into old age:lolup::oops: This reminds me of all these TAB tickets I had in my car ashtray, which I hadnt got around to checking. Was passing the TAB one day, decided to pop in and check them, so took in my wrinkled as, covered in ash tickets, and one of the tickets had won a $900 tri factor. Classic!
