Watch out for the Platinum Play Neteller Bonus

By the letter of the law, I failed the Terms and Conditons, but this method is so underhanded I had to post it here as a warning to others. Platinum Play casino offers a 200% match, then throws another 20% if the deposit is 50 or more, and then the key is a 10% bonus if you used Neteller.

The wagering requirements on the first two are quite mundane. 15x the deposit + bbonus for the 200% and 20x the 20%. Fair enough, quite nice. So that means you'd need to wager(assuming a 50 unit deposit)

(100+50)x15=2250 units. Very generous of them.

The next bonus is also pretty good.
10x20=200 units

Ok, so a wagering requirement of 240 for that rather sizable bonus....not bad, right? Well, watch out for that Neteller 10% bonus! It has a wagering requirement......are you ready for this?
(50 + 5) X 10= $550!!!!!

You already wagered your initial deposit 15 times for the other bonus, so this is almost like a 110x requirement on the bonus. Holy smokes! I had not realized this 5 unit bonus had been added in with such strict wagering requirements, so I cashed out after wagering 2663.75 units. Well above the main deposit and also including the 10 unit bonus as well. I hadn't realized that this last bonus with such an incredible wagering requirement would be my downfall. I got an email this morning saying my withdraw and been processed and the 100 unit bonus removed because I failed to meet the wager requirement.

Anyways, I post this not to pitch a bitch because, to the letter of the law, I didn't meet the wagering requirements. However, if you do Platinum play, before you wager a DIME, have them remove the Neteller bonus. It is merely there to try to get you to void your larger deposit bonus, and in my case, it worked.

I opened my account there a couple of weeks ago, and after fullfilling the WR was able to withdraw with a substantial win over my initial deposit of 50$. I was paid with no problem and the costumer service was just great,
No neteller bonus st the time: but rules appear to be changing almost on a daily basis in too many casinos...

As I said, I violated the tiny print and am being hit in the gut for it. However, I feel that the ONLY POSSIBLE PURPOSE of this small bonus is to have you screw up and use it as a reason to void the much larger one or to lose more of your bankroll. At a wagering requirement of 110x, not only is there a significant chance you'll lose money or even bust out given the small bankroll, but if you miss it they take the much larger(20 times as large, yet less than 4x the wagering requirement btw) bonus and say so sorry, you lose. I think having anything there just to screw over your players is a bad idea.

Platinum Play was one of the first online casinos I patronized - and frankly they have terrific customer service.

But the bonus requirements are horrible. The Neteller bonus wagering requirement is essentially an additional overlay on top of the deposit - not worth the 10%. PLUS...blackjack can only constitute 20% of your wagering, so you're stuck with the other games. Once I met the bj component of the WR, I continued to play, and used half of my winnings on the slots (Thunderstruck...or whatever it's called).

The upside is that although I "harassed" customer service every day to tell me how much slot play I still had left on my WR. Another upside was that the doubling feature on Thunderstruck applied to the WR....and of course I was lucky enough to get some multiple free spins... :D

Agree completely. The neteller bonus was always a trap, but the moment Fortune Lounge went over to automatically removing your bonus if you made any mistake wagering they crossed over into roguedom... They must have caught out a vast number of players by now - it's a shame the attempt to put some pressure on them on this forum fizzled out a while back.

Well, I am glad I am not alone. However, it seems that I never should have been credited the 10% bonus anyways. The bonus is for US dollars, while I played in pounds. Thus, the bonus they used to trap me never should have been there in the first place. It appears that may be my saving grace as the customer service person I spoke with also agreed and is looking to have it restored so I can cash out. I think the forfeiting of the bonus is completely rogueish when there is no way to check your wagering.

Yeah, you have to admire Microgaming - they spend millions on developing state-of-the-art casino software, but forget to add an easy way of knowing how much you've bet. A cynic would think it was only to force players to play more than necessary ;)

And then there's their deliberately incorrect, but alterable, strategy for blackjack... and their finest hour: a completely unalterable, but also incorrect, auto-play for video poker. Any lawyers out there think a law suit against them on this would stand a chance? If you click stats after using the autoplay it tells you you've played 100% correctly, despite, for instance, holding A,K,3 suited in Jacks or Better.

Obviously the house edge alone isn't enough to persuade casinos to use their software...

Can you decline the Neteller Bonus?

Damn. I knew something was wrong. I've been trusting that while I've been learning Deuces strategy and yet always lose on MG casino VP. Always. With the "manual" Crypto's i get some good results.

Looks like Expert Mode is "Off" from now on. Someone somewhere ought to be up in arms about this one 'cos as you say Vesuvio, that is blatantly misleading if not dishonest. In fact, its worth another post...

Can you post the exact cards you were dealt, the cards you think you should hold and the cards Viper thinks it should hold? Were you playing 5 coins?
Suited AK3 and AK are fairly close, the difference is about 0.1 coins in favour of holding AK if you are playing 5 coins, but if you are playing fewer coins, holding AK3 is better because of the reduced payout on RF.

Grand Master, you may have restored my faith in the autoplay!

Recently I've generally only been playing on one coin. The autoplay seems to hold absolutely any other suited card to go with two picture cards, but as you say perhaps that's correct on less than max coins. I know a lot of other people have observed the same phenomenon & at the time I assumed they were playing with max coins even if I wasn't, but perhaps they weren't.

I've heard other horror stories about the autoplay, but for now I'll offer Microgaming an apology (though, on second thoughts, until they change the default strategy for blackjack they deserve nothing!).

Err...heard about Playcheck?

Yeah, playcheck is pretty tedious to try to figure out if you've wagered thousands of dollars when it displays only 100 lines at a time, and some of those aren't wagering transactions, ugh.

The VP expert strategies have been correct in my experience. Whenever I had a questionable play, I checked it again Winpoker and it was right every time. I"m pretty sure the strategy table is editable as well if you do find an error (like the BJ tables are).

That rather makes the point about how bad the software is though, doesn't it?

Would a simple table telling you how much you've played at each game/session be beyond them?

It also seems unable to cope with multi-hand bj.

Their poker software has the same flaw, so either it's just shoddy programming or they want to make it difficult for anyone playing the bonuses & needing to keep track.

Or he could simply CALL them. It IS called "customer service" for a reason.

Thanks for that.

If it was called "please call us and waste your time & ours because our software's extremely inconvenient, but we'd prefer if you don't and just play more or play too little & we can snatch back your bonus at cash-in" then your patronising comment would at least be coherent!
