Waiting for the other shoe to drop!

Just felt like making a random post.

So I'm having a good session. Turned the deposit over 6x. I know I should cashout, but I can't help but ask "how much more can I win." I know it's very bad thought process that leads down the dark alley where the casino thugs jump you and takes all of your winnings, plus the additional deposits you make trying to get the money back.....:(

I'm normally good at walking away these days but I think my big problem is playing at casinos I'm not yet verified at. I know I still need to send in my docs etc etc. Which I did promise my wife I would do ahead of time for now on

On a side note: What does that title even mean? Why would the first shoe have dropped if it was tied on? And why not just pick it back up and re-tie it, why are you waiting :what: Odd saying is fairly odd.

I had a weekend like that...I actually was up quite nicely at iNetBet for the first time in ages and I decided to chase some RJs instead of cashing out my $500. Guess what happened? No RJ and no $500. :(

Been there and done that like so many other gamblers and it's not just online, it happens at the B/M casinos as well.

We want to cash out but it is something that is in our genes that make us want more so we look for reasons that make it sound good almost soothing to us , like I feel a big hit is coming soon as I have already pissed away so many non productive spins, it's just gotta give me a feature soon, its true and we all know it, may not want to admit it but it does happen to the best of us.

The doc thing is a great excuse , used it a lot myself or even a better one , the waiting time to get paid, so after I have pissed away what could have been a nice withdrawal , I look for all the excuses but the main one.....................I didn't blamed myself.............

Did you drop the ball whilst waiting for the other shoe to drop? And did you get mixed up with shoes and balls? And did you accidently kick your balls?

Questions, questions..lol

Etymology
A common experience of tenement living and other similar style housing in New York City (and other cities) during the manufacturing boom of the late 19th and early 20th century. Apartments were built similar in design with one's bedroom under another's. Thus, it was normal to hear a neighbor removing shoes and hearing them hit the floor above. As one shoe made a sound hitting the floor, the expectation for the other shoe to make a similar sound was created.

It's awful isn't it? When your on a great run, and especially if your luck has been bad of late, you cannot help but think, I am on a roll here, I should keep going whilst my luck is hot - afterall, it will probably be dead again when I play tomorrow ! Or similar, crazy thoughts...

Somebody posted their 'tactic' on here a while back whereby they would set a limit of say, 75% of their balance at that time as walking away point, so if they had 400 and got down to 300 they would cash that out and call it quits, but if they got up to 500, they would change to 75% of that figure, £375, as the walking away point and keep playing... this worked well for me for a while but the bigger the amounts involved the more tempting it is to either (a) chase the losses or (b) not worry about losing a little bit more for the chance of another big hit ...

It's definitely a true no-win situation that only us gamblers will ever fail to spot as COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS ... lol .. if I tell a non gambling friend how I turned £50 into £500 and then lost the lot they cannot understand it whatsoever ... !

You know when it was the ole days for gambling I could win 100. cash it out and continue playing I knew it would be in banking acct or ewallet in under an hour. I would play on and slowly build. build bets and build winnings.

Now lets say I know I'm down 1000 at a casino to try and get that back slowly their is no way. I mean I can't take 100 or 200 it has to be a min of 300. then I have to wait the 7-10 days to get it.

So I find myself going all or nothing. Let's be honest its a pain in the ass to cash out and wait and wait and wait. So I go on to get back what I'm down.

I know deadly way to think but until we have easier banking solutions that's how I play.

Another thing I may start doing is starting at the beginning of month I may just deposit my 100 and play min bets all month long and see if I have something at end of month just to get the satisfaction of playing and not even try to win anymore.

I mean I really hate the work of cashing out and then the wait and then the follow up emails if needed or chasing down a bank code -- it's just not fun to do it's not exciting to have to wait on winnings -

Now there is another "saying" for someone to track down, but my feeling is that it costs a (small) sum to cashout these days, plus the foreign exchange fee for depositing that 'foreign' check from Canada, that I figure---why not save the cash out fee and another deposit from my cc(that has to be paid back before interest fees acrue) and just play with what I've got 'deposited' already????

So now until I have over 1K or unless it is the end of a wager requirement that I can't replay, I don't cash out. I just tell myself it is an invisible "deposit".----Saves a lot of bookkeeping too.;)
