Sorry if this is already posed.

Wagerworks has now made it impossible for someone in the United States to play their slots, even in fun mode.

I am so angry I could scream. No Joke. Scream. I love playing wolf run. :(

I know but you just had to post about wagerworks now i want to play cleo grr.
LOL us cdns have same issues they only take visa and moneybookers but its like 1000 deposit in moneybookers to play and not even sure if would work as i would never deposit that kinda money into any casino. So maybe time for a drive to land casino.

As far as I'm aware, Blue Square also still accept US players for free play too - no sign-up needed and they have the entire range

That's a shame, a friend of mine in the US was playing last night on bluesquare, so maybe they changed it over the last 24 hours or perhaps they are restricting free play to people living in certain States through the IP?

Wonder why Virgin allow the free play and Blue Square don't?

Im in Washington, a restricted state. Never been to bluesquare so I tried to get on to see if it would let me play for free, I got the restricted notice box too. Ive been playing with Virgin in the free mode for a long time, perhaps they are no longer taking new "free" plays?

It's perking down through all the WW casinos to shut down free play from US IP addresses. Wonder why all of the sudden they decide to pull this stunt? I read the unlawful gaming act from begin to end and it mentions nothing at all about free play or playing for fun. Does this mean sites with slots where you can also play for fun like AOL, which has bally slots, are also illegal? Same thing...

That's ok tho, IGT and WagerWorks will always be the small fish of the internet no matter how many real games they release. Hope this makes their cyber penis grow another inch or two.

WTF cares about IGT games. BIG DAMNED DEAL. For years i dreamed about being able to play 5 times pay, double diamond, double red/white/blue etc on the internet for money. Guess what, Rival slots kick ass on IGT. Who needs them. IGT better hope rival doesnt decide to get into the B&M casino business. If they do I bet IGT will all of a sudden decide ANYBODY on the internet can play their precious games. Screw u IGT.:)

Don't quote me on this, but since a) most of the WW casinos are licensed in Alderney, and b) a clause in the WW contract with the operator BOTH prevent US players from playing the games in real, WW (and possibly Alderney) may be telling them to pull the plug from free play as well....

I hypothesize 2 reasons:

1. People are getting bored with the same old MG, RTG and others who seem to introduce clone afer clone time after time and people want to play the games they are familiar with in a true B&M casino, so WW/IGT is saying "OK... you wanna play these games? Then go to a B&M!"

2. Alderney sees that since the UIGEA is supposed to combat all forms of wagering, they may see it is actual money play (even though it actually isn't - it falls within the bounds of free play as specified by the UIGEA), and they tell the ops to pull the plug. I see them getting a huge backlash with this one if it happens to be the case.

Who knows? Maybe they just want to tell Americans there are better places to play? Any casino that excludes one group from another is essentially telling them "We don't want your business because we're scared of what could happen to our profits." Sorry if that's a lil' ruthless, but IMHO it's the truth.

And BTW - I can still play for free at GamesXtra.

Maybe it's just those casinos that are listed on the stock exchange (blue square is owned by Rank Group plc) that have to be ultra-cautious and so do not offer any slots to US players, even if they are free?

I don't think Virgin Games are listed on the stock exchange, so if my guess is right, then they should stay good for US players

I am playing there now (just cause Simmo asked).

Assuming you're US then Paul, it must be a Virgin policy to block US players on the website itself, as that site calls the branded games direct from the WW server.

getminted are also blocking us players
The online casinos vegas or whatever is using back door links to Virgin free play servers.

I'm sure eventually all of them will be shut off to US IP's but there's ways around that too using proxys

Cashcade own Getminted and run several white labels (including to public companies) - they have to worry about the consequences of providing to companies that are listed on the stock exchange.

"Cashcade operates via its two business streams: as a promoter of its own direct-to-customer business with highly successful sites such as Foxybingo.com and Getminted.com; and as a white label provider to companies such as Trinity Mirror Group, Emap, Associated News and Scottish Media Group."

As far as I know, Virgin Gaming don't have public shareholders to answer to, so can get away with having associations between gambling and the US market (even if it that association is only with free play games).

I guess that Virgin could always change their minds and block US players too, so make the most of it whilst you can!

Found this reply from BlueSquare support on another forum.. this is laughable

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail,

I can confirm that as of 1st July 2008, we will no longer be able to accept fun players from the United States and Canada. This is due to a switch in software systems, which no longer allows us to differentiate between real and fun players. As I'm sure you are aware we are unable to accept real money players from the United States.

Thank you for your interest in Blue Square, I hope you are able to find a suitable company to meet your online gaming needs,

Customer Service Team

:lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup:

They're in trouble if the servers can't tell real from fun wagers.

LOL

Can see why. They have put geo-targetting in on the website itself before players even load up the games from the WW servers. There is some logic in that as they can only control the code on their own domain and can't interfere with the actual games software itself.

As an aside, just playing for free and got a pretty one on Wolf Run thought I'd share:

Nice screenshot - Wolf Run is still my favorite slot, although I don't play for real money very often as it can whip it away a bit too quickly sometimes!

As of now, only Virgin works for me in fun mode. :(

I can understand blocking real money players from restricted countries, but free play? Why?

I'm sure its a technical issue in terms of what they can/can't do on their sites. Maybe they are set up so the geo-targetting happens before the player even sees the free play option.

Are the Wagerworks free slots still working at Virgin Casino for players in the US?

A friend of mine in NY says he can't get them to work...
