The standard type of match bonus (percentage match-bonus with wagering requirements) that seems to appear at most casinos is, provided fair and reasonable T&Cs, reasonably well understood in terms of EV etc.

I have noticed that there are some online casinos that are offering "wager-free" deposit match bonuses where restrictions are structured differently (bonus deposit lock, tiering and ordering of winnings and withdrawals thereof as well as max withdrawal caps) as to create the right incentives for the player and, I assume, the 'right' outcome for the casino.

Looking for advice / input / thoughts on these "new" types of deposit match bonuses. Does anyone have a link or info on some info on these?

Did a quick search on the forum and didn't find anything (apologies if my search was rubbish and I missed loads of obvious threads...).

Cheers

Be careful with Bonuses!
It is  crucial  that you understand and agree to the terms and conditions of any bonus that you accept. Most of the complaints that come through our arbitration service are bonus related; it would be safe to say that there are tens of thousands of players who have never complained because they realized after the fact that they did not understand or had never read the terms. Nothing in a casino is free – so whenever you see “free” being used, there are stipulations. It is important for you to understand that.

Please check out our Bonus Section that lists the offers given by our Accredited Casinos. No deposit bonuses, welcome bonuses (AKA sign up bonuses [SUBs]), exclusive bonuses, reload bonuses, free spin bonuses...all this and more!

Without any spammy links or url's, can you name a few examples?

I've seen some RTG casinos offering this type of bonus (Raging Bull and Grand Fortune, for instance), but I've never tried out one of these bonuses myself. Seems like there would be some kind of catch to trip up players, there's no way casinos would offer bonuses like these if they are as +EV as they appear to be.

Well the bonuses are sticky .. I've talked about the bonuses Grand Fortune and RB offer at another site and generally what I got out of that was that everyone there said the bonuses are -EV because the bonus is sticky.

I don't get it. If the bonus is wager free, but sticky, how can it be -EV? I mean I guess playing with your own money too w/o bonus is -EV then but idk to me wager free no max cashout bonus seems really good - Almost too good to be true.

If I am not completely going off the reservation I think the offer essentially equates to 100% deposit match of wager-free freespins that you get after you've lost your deposit and any winnings from your deposit.

Betsize limits seem to vary but at Storspelare it seems very high though at 1/2 of your initial bonus amount so you could get strike it lucky with a big hit value-wise.

EV wise it's definitely negative as you have to lose your deposit in order to access it but it does give you the possibility to go for a big win once you actually play the bonus.

Because the necessary level of deposits and the RTP of them means the average release amount played would make it EV-.
