Visa Netspend International Issues

So apparently my Netspend Visa has a international block on it all of a sudden? I used it yesterday between 6 am to 8 am. Then came back for Lunch and my card was being denied all over the place. Now I know the card itself wasn't shut down because I used it at the gas station and at a restaurant last night. So I'm guessing I have an International transaction block put on it? Anyone else having this issue?

ohhhhhhh... that sucks soo bad. I've still got a few bucks on mine, haven't used it since xmas.

and what about ordering stuff online? half the sites I end up with if I'm doing a search for an item are not USA.

I have no answers for you. Can you access your card info online? Maybe email them? or phone them to see wtf is going on (there's a cool cellphone case you'd like to have but it comes from Hong Kong, for instance... :-)

Good luck.

I have had problems for the past few days! I have tried depositing and called Netspend but they said my card was good. I was denied at five different places ( my usual places).

I called four times. The CS has no clue.

First call they said it was because I exceeded the 10 transactions per month rule (bogus).

It sucks.

Hopefully, someone can shed some light on this because the CS at Netspend are oblivious to this matter.

Edit: They asked about a transaction about my withdrawels and I said , "Yes, I know. I made that transaction about an online purchase."

I feel that Netspend is on it's last legs.

What's a screaming girl to do?

Please say it's not the DOJ again

Well eventually someone told me a processor tried charging my card for like $200 for a $35 transaction. I still think somethings up. Oh well at least I had a nice late valentines day meal with my significant other. Instead of gambling that night and grilling at home. I took them out to a nice Italian place instead.

Well so do I, it's just its more expensive for me to load it, by a $1 versus having Netspend take it out of my bank account for a lower rate. Oh well, I've just decided I'll cool it on Netspend for a bit. Until I can get someone to give me a solid answer as to whats going on. Otherwise with my other card I've made 3 deposits and so far on my 3rd one am finally up quite a bit. Lets keep it on a roll.

From Hong Kong? Want help from me?

My personal bank has a international block put on there cards. They will allow for "temporary" usage out of the US but not on a permanent basis. I already attempted this route, so thats why I relied on Netspend. Anyways I have an e-mail shot off to them. Maybe someone can shed some light as to why they have blocked international transactions. Maybe next time I shouldn't be looking at some scandalous girls before gambling? lol

So Netspend finally e-mailed me back today. Saying they don't know of any International Blocks on my account. So I decided to try a deposit a Desert Nights, magically it worked. All weekend it was a no go and today it worked. Oh well something must have laxed in there system. So all is well with me again on depositing with this method.

i am now experiencing the same thing. i deposited at 7-11 yesterday around 5 am, did not receive the email alert until 9:00 am. Although the deposit showed on netspend's website in my balance, my deposit attempts were denied betweent 5 and 9. after 9 i was able to deposit at a couple of places. Last night, and this morning my deposits are being denied, even though i have money available. Very strange and customer service is no help,

Pam

This same thing happened to me at Liberty Slots. First deposit went thru fine and then all the sudden they have been denied since then with no explanation! WTH?

I'm actually starting to think it's not Netspend at all as much as the processors now putting a spending cap / transaction limit on us. Reason why? I tried to deposit at Atlantis Gold and Desert Nights on Friday morning. Both were denied I'm assuming after my 2 deposits each on Thursday night. Yet I went to MyPaylinQ and the deposit went through just fine.
So it could be the processor and the casino isn't made aware of it or maybe Netspend is throttling how many transactions per descriptor your allowed over a certain period of time.
All I can say is keep trying once every few hours. Eventually it'll either go through or otherwise you can always go get a backup card in the case something like this happens.

I would like to give my input on the answer I received from English Harbour a long while back when I kept having issues with depositing being allowed and then denied. There is a window (timeframe) in which the casinos allow depostors to deposit and once the max deposits is reached they cut off the option for a few hours is what I was told to keep the processor under the radar in transactions.

I know it sounds silly but once I was denied by a few of the casinos (I usually deposited between 5PM and 10PM) I asked them all why I couldn't deposit then but the next day it was allowed. No one would answer except EH. I was told they did this, to stay under the radar and keep the processors from becoming overloaded with too many transactions that would look suspicious, they chose to have a cutoff for certain hours I believe.

I have always been able to deposit within a few hours later even after being denied 3-4 times.

Just my information I picked up along the financial road of gambling....If any rep here can give some more info or more in depth...we all would appreciate it.

i,m having the same promble with my netspend. sometimes it works sometimes it don,t and i have to use my other netspend card on the same account and it will go thought.

and then i have to switch back to my other card alltho like i said its on the same account and this has never happened to me before.

Has anyone actually thought about using a virtual card?
Just wondering, granted you couldn't send in a physical card other than maybe a screen shot. I was just wondering if some people have found this to be a possible viable option?
I'm thinking of trying that theory tonight if my card doesn't go through. Last night I ended up getting promotion card from another company and it seemed to work with online gaming, but I haven't gone back to my Netspend card yet.
Also for the Money Paks, I didn't realize that Netspend could be loaded with green dot? When did this occur?

So after another weekend of issues, I have decided to throw in the towel with NS. Granted yes I'll agree the $1.95 is hell of a cheap deal, but the 3.5% international fee and the $5 monthly fee is a bit steep so I ended up going with another card, I'll let you guys know soon if it works out rather well. The load fees aren't bad, and the international transaction fee is only 2% versus the 3.5%. Plus the monthly fee isn't as steep.

declined, anyone else had this problem

i joined netspend with no problems, used a debit card with no problem, added another card with no problem, i removed the second card i enrolled, then i re enrolled the second card, it took out the fee from my bank , but I am denied when i try to deposit..... i have read where there is a 10 transactions limit on forum, but never saw it at netspend.com....I did call customer service at vesta but they say they don't have answers.....I think it is strange that i was able to use this card, but not able to now.. has anyone else had this problem??? any info would be welcomed!!! thank!!

I think the 10 transactions you were reading about. Was when your a new signup at Slotocash. They'll only allow you 10 transactions per 30 day period until your verified and everything checks out with security. Otherwise Netspend doesn't per se have a transaction limit. They just randomly decide to shut you down for international transactions at times.
As for deleting and re-adding your bank card to the account. I've never deleted mine by accident and had this issue. You might have to actually call Vesta to get this one sorted out. There the ones who process the bank debit card loads for Netspend. It might something as simple as re-going thru the verification process.
I don't mind Netspend as a whole, but after getting charged the highest foreign transaction fee I have ever seen in my life. Then having to pay a monthly fee to boot, and having my international transactions restricted at random intervals. I gave up and found another card.
If Netspend is what is working for you tho, which it sounds like it isn't but, if it is. I won't tell you to stop using Netspend, because as far as I see there one of the few prepaid cards who haven't shut down to US based transactions only. So I say may as well use them until the Feds jump in and say hey you can't be doing that anymore.

if i may ask

ty for your reply, can u tell me another prepaid that works??? and can be purchased online?? oh also i read somewhere that u can fund a netspend with a moneypak (usually for paypal, or green dot) is that true? thanks for your time.

Netspend cannot be loaded with MoneyPak. MoneyPak is used to reload your PayPal account and Greendot prepaid cards. To my knowledge you cannot purchase a prepaid card online. The Walmart Money Card has to be purchased in store and you must wait for your perm card to come in the mail then you can load it with MoneyPak.

Netspend can either be loaded at a Murphy USA, via money gram at Wal-Mart, Vanilla Reload Pack, or with a Netspend reload pack. Last I knew Green Dot didn't work.
If your looking for an alternative to Netspend, I know the Wal-Mart one works pretty slick. Plus the monthly fee isn't bad nor are the reload fees.

i live by walgreens and they have a reload pk on their racks for n.s. its 4.95 to reload it at walgreens but its closer then going to the ace express . and walgreens is open on sundays if i want to reload and play. i hate paying the reload fees and then the 2.00 transaction fees. i have another card i can reload but half the time the casinos are not excepting it.

I too have Netspend and I htave only one issue. I also let my son use it to buy overseas. I notice that alot of the casinos have different ways that they show purchases. No one of mine as ever said casinos on it . So it may be based on what casino say on your reciept. I have used prepaid credit cards of different type i know they dont use mastercard a alot of casinos i have a mastercard sent to me by netspend but never used based on my issues once with mastercard overseas. The mastercard bank denied each of them so if its a visa netspend i havent had any problems.

Netspend Issue

Well Netspend called me this morning wanting to know about the foreign transactions, what they were. First I think this is none of their business, I am loading the card with my money and they are making money from it. I told them I had a business where I purchased perfumes, handbags, etc, which is true. I just recently sold my shop but I still sell on eBay. She told me if I sold on eBay I had to have a business license or I could not purchase international items anymore. Geeeessh, are you kidding me? Strawberrynet is an international perfume vendor. This is ridiculous.

Well I called them back and explained how I sell on eBay etc so after talking to me awhile she said they were going to leave it alone for now. I told her I got a little offended when she called asking directly what the purchases were for. I laughed and told her that I started to tell her it was for blow up dolls for resell :D she laughed and laughed. That is when she became more "normal" acting....so remember peeps when they ask what the purchases are just say sex toys...lol...lol....it sure takes them off guard!

I've really thought about buying one of the Mastercard International debit cards from a bank from overseas that is selling them. I won't name the bank or the vendor quite yet. They will approve Americans and the initial startup cost is $10.95 USD which can either paid for by wire transfer or via ok pay. My choice. Then afterwards the only fee is whenever I send them a wire transfer or make a transfer via ok pay. The income wire fee is $5 USD and the ok pay is a percentage that isn't quite revealed yet.
No foreign transaction fee, no foreign atm withdrawal fees, and no restrictions at all compared to most of the prepaids in the US. They even advertise that the card is geered towards those who make Naughty purchases and don't want to have there bank snooping in on there activities.
The bank so far is reputable, and the only thing that has me stopping and taking a long pause. Is the fact I either have to pay OK Pay fees or a wire transfer fee. So my thought is, save up for that once a month deposit. Then if I decide somewhere along the month I need some of the money back I deposited. I can always withdrawal it at my local ATM no costs.
Plus I would get an SWIFT code for wire transfers, and account number. That way if I do get a silly place like Rushmore that wants a euro denominated account. I have one readily available without any issues.
If Netspend is starting to pull that sort of stuff, there might be other prepaid card issuers following suit soon. So if I do decide on doing this option, I for sure will let everyone else know how well it works.
