Hey folk's! It has been a while since I have posted anything of relevance. And I flew into Vegas last night for the biggest fight in decade's.
The MiddleWeightChampionship is on the line for Golovkin VS. Alvarez. I'am and have been a huge fan of boxing all of my adult life and I have seen a number of big fight's in my day. Ali, Foreman,Jones, and a fair amount of championship fight's.
I have to say Vegas has really rolled out the red carpet for this event.I'am staying at the Hard Rock and I have already been playing a lot of slot's and eating like a fool.
I made a heavy bet on the fight at $20,000.00 for Golovkin to win. I do think his power will beat Alvarez down and knock him out.I believe it enough to make this bet and I hope I'am right.

I have entered into a slot contest at the casino here at the HR.But I will try to win and recover any loss's from my bet on the fight if it goes badly for me and Golovkin?
Seat's for the fight have been sold out for a while now.And at $500 to $10,000 per seat it is amazing at the money being wagered. One whale came into one of the betting parlor's on the strip and laid down $5,000,000.00 on Alvarez to win. This drove the line way out there. My bet is at 3 to 1 and I was happy to get that.

Vegas is on fire with all kind's of promo's and special's. Lot'sa big winner's today and last night.
I came with $75,00.00 cash and I will play until I have lost it all or win BIG!This is my vacation of sort's.

I will say that the food here is good and plentiful and I love the special's.My wife of course is a big shopper and loves the strip and the specialty shop's:poke:
I will stay in the betting parlor's and the casino's and we will meet up for dinner. If this is going to be a winning vacation I will go now and try my luck at the card's table's and work my way down from there.Well folk's I will update daily and let you all know what this adventure has handed me and wifey. Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

Not a boxing expert myself but i wish you best of luck with your huge bet!

Have only been once to Vegas as its quite a travel across the ocean but i loved it. Enjoy your stay!!

The problem is you only went with $75,000 in cash. Everyone knows that to win in Vegas you need at least $100,000

Golovkin is like a machine, he will win easily. he destroyed Kell Brooke, he is relentless and never tires, hard hitter, can take a punch and I would be shocked if he lost. My cash would be on 'Triple G' too...:D

Great night! Went to Mandalay Bay and played till 5am. Had a really great run on the massive slot's group at The Bay.I will always play the $5.00 slot's and up to the $100.00.Last night I had that gut feeling and I went with it.
I started at the $100.00 Red White and Blue.I put a grand in and nada and I put another grand in and nada. But I changed my roll and went for the big play as the cashier are very friendly and will if you are respectful lay a bit of info on ya.
This sweet blonde with green eyes told me about a slot that was in the same bank of RWB slot's that had not hit in awhile. So off I went and on the 3rd roll at $100.00 a pop.I hit 3 red sevens and won $45,000.00:yahoo::yahoo:
I went crazy and I was immediately covered by IRS and casino official's and lo and behold What I thought was a nice little win had been a progressive and it was a Vegas wide progressive so it went to 3 times the win and I was dumb founded? So I have already done my work and recovered all of my cost even if I don't win on the fight I'am covered on my overall cost.

And my favorite part of a big win in Vegas is the comp. They want you to stay there and lose the winning's back to them. So we changed hotel's and we got a very nice suite and I'am in a cabana on the beach at Mandalay Bay on the Vegas strip.
The tax man is very quick here and I paid a healthy tax on the win and went about the day's relaxing at the beach and having some amazing food. Some really good wine and a couple of shots of JackBlack and I feel GREAT! Ready for the fight tonight and I'am hoping for a win and a nice payout at the parlor?
I will try to get some shot's of the fight and the many celeb's that are here for the fight? But the security is strong and they do not like unwanted shots of the celeb's.Wish me luck and I will try to check back in after the fight tonight.Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

Just curious. As someone from the UK a few questions.

1. When you win, and you say the IRS are on you, do they take into consideration any loses you may have already incurred. IE you were down on the other slot
2. Im sure we dont, but are UK citizens subject to taxation?

Well done on your win though :) :)

Good question,redsfan.
Nonresident aliens pay U.S. tax on their “fixed or determinable annual or periodical gains, profits, and income” from U.S. sources. That phrase is hard to decipher, but it includes gambling winnings. ... In 2008, the IRS ruled that U.S. citizens could measure their gains on a per-session basis

Though in all fairness, even domestic gamblers have had to fight with the IRS about how to offset their wins and losses. In 2008, the IRS ruled that U.S. citizens could measure their gains on a per-session basis. In effect, you don’t have to compute each wager separately to determine if you won or lost and by how much. Just tally your total at the end of your gambling session.

The Tax Court reached the same conclusion in Shollenberger v. Commissioner, T.C. Memo 2009-306. As a result, now U.S. citizens (and resident aliens) can measure their gambling wins and losses on a per-session basis and don’t have to compute their losses/income bet by bet. But should this treatment apply to nonresident aliens who come to the U.S. to gamble? The IRS said no, aliens should pay tax on all gains, period.

As far as offsetting your losses with your win's? If you want to fight over it,may be you will win .But I have learned over the many many year's of gambling for fun and a living.
Mucking up the water with a bad idea can be very very costly. In a big win and a bad loss combined I may try to recover some loss. But it would have to be a BIG loss.Hope this answered your question?Good Luck,Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

Adelaide Byrd should not be allowed to judge another boxing contest - either corruption or total incompetence

Spoils what actually was a great effort by both fighters

Yes that is absolutely the best thing that can happen. This &&$^#%% did not even see this fight.I'am appalled by this judge's inability to make a sound judgement. It is just like the fight between Mayweather and Alvarez.A judge saw a draw and it was clearly a Mayweather win. That judge is NO longer in the fight game.

I had some great shot's from the fight and will post them when I get back home. There were lot'sa celeb's there. And I actually spoke with Mark Walhberg about his take on the fight and the decision. Also 50Cent was there and Michael J. Fox,Miguel Cotto,Charles Barkley,Oscar De La Hoya his son fought in the 2nd fight of the night,Sergey Korolev and lot'sa other fighter's.

After the day I had and the big win the night before.I feel like the 15 YO boy who just lost his 1st GF.It is a shame in this day and age that a fool would be able to ruin a really good fight between 2 first class fighter's.
And not to mention the wager that I made.At fight time the odd's were thru the roof at 35-1 for Golovkin and 50-1 for Alvarez. All that big money wagering drove it thru the roof.It would have been a great win for me,but now I have to go to the betting parlor and maybe even pay a fee for the draw. Not sure but a couple of grand would not shock me.I did not lose but I did not win either,:sob:

At any rate this has been a true experience for me and my lady.We will be here thru Monday and will leave early Tuesday morning.I have bought into a stud game tonight in a private suite set up by the house.A $25,000.00 buy in and it may turn out to be fun?At the very least a long night for sure .Unless I lose it really fast? And I do not play card's that way.

I will try to win more if possible? But I feel a bit jinxed by the fight.Wish me the best and I will update on any new win's or event's.Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

Slightly OT I know and I am not sure quite what you mean by "non-resident aliens" but I just wanted to qualify something for others reading. I am from the UK and when I go to Vegas, you are not required to pay tax on big wins: you fill in a waiver form at the machine when they bring you the hand-pay (wins over $1200).

Simmo!I will agree that it seem's a bit over the top.but when dealing with the IRS one thing must always remember that they make the rules.this is the one thing that stop's most from trying to engage in a
court fight with the man.

And true enough when you hit at a slot the management comes with a paper to sign that allow's you to be paid for the win. But if you read the paper it is in essence a agreement to pay any and all taxes on the win.
I myself in Biloxi have gotten slot win's and signed the paper work to get paid. But I quickly found out at tax time that the win was attached for taxes.Which I had to pay or suffer the slings and arrow's of the government rule.It SUCKS! I will be first to say,but I will be in like flint when they say that some win's are deferred.

And after some research I found that there is a ceiling on that deferred payment on signature. It appear's to be $10,000.00 and after expect the IRS to require all payment in full. Before you get your's.

And the answer I posted is the most recent decision made here in regards to tax on gaming.I can't speak for the wording IE the "non-resident aliens" you spoke of.I will agree with your statement on win's at the slot to an amount.Having done so myself many times.Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

F*ck me I was going to say a draw originally in my post but thought that would be seen as ridiculous.

Who'd have thunk it? Still, there's all that money to be made from a rematch eh :eek:

The promoters and money men have got exactly what they wanted - it's all about the benjamins

As a UK citizen that seems so utterly bizarre. For me it conjures up images of HMRC officials hanging around FOBTs waiting to get in on any big win action (which of course will never happen). Excellent luck on the slots though and hard luck on the result which for me should have been non-controversial Golovkin win. Guess you'll have to do it all again for the rematch :)

slotter999, I agree entirely with the IRS so available at the casino's here.It is a real let down when you get a fine win and payout half to the man!Don't get me wrong thou, the cash is always nice.

I have to tell you that I tried for about 6 year's to not pay my gaming taxes. And I looked really hard to try to cover-up my winning's.But a friend and business partner, showed me that my gaming income had far surpassed my business income(a gemologist).
I saw that I may be HUNG! So I went legit. And it seem's that the UK was back when a huge tax base.It was one of the reason's why so many rock star's from the UK went to the U.S.Taxes!
Has it changed? Or is the reality of living in the UK still dependent on your income? I wish I knew myself as I like the UK and find the countryside to be very nice.Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

I frequent Vegas a lot, pay 30% on anything over $1200 with the exception of table games, trying to get that tax money back is a pain but I have managed to do it last year with the 12 tax slips and my players card that I tracked my losses with, here in Canada winnings from casinos and lottery are tax free.

And that stinking fight, had 5k bet, ticket refunded, I will bet Vegas bookies were none to happy on that bust.

Must be nice! no tax on loto or casino gaming.Maybe I should check out the casino's in the "dark north"? How are the amenities in the casino's up there?
It is good that you are filing your US win's.i do it every year, that is a reason why i threw slots online. But these days it is TOO much trouble to get into the taxman too deep.
Way back I lost a house and my trucks and my dogs even to the taxman. They were a breeding pair of Newfies. They took them and sold them to satisfy a tax debt.

Now on to my night last.I will say it is very taxing on the brain and the old bod.To play 15 hours of stud poker in a 8 seat setting with 2 raises per. hand. Not to mention the table stake's and the lack of betting due to limited raises.I stayed all night and came up $12,000.00 ahead, but the cost to the old body is almost overwhelming.
At any rate i'm gonna give it a break for a few and try my last hours playing some backgammon at $5.00 a stone it can be very profitable and I love backgammon so much better than chess. And I have played chess for a buck or two also.not very good at it thou.Maybe an early show and some line call's in a dice game.

I feel that Vegas is almost everything a gambler could want. But it is a SHOCK to the system and the skull. They offer so much and it seem's boundless. But under it you can still see shots of the old Vegas.

Prostitution is rampant and is not being managed well by the state.Oh yes, they test for the AIDS and HepC. But that does not explain why there are so many new cases of AIDS either.Sex,sex, sex it sell's but what exactly are you buying?Off to never never land.Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

I was always told to do the 'Penny Test' - put an old penny or 2p in the 'slot' and if it goes green fuck-off out of there....

Old, nobody told me I had to use an old penny, I have been to the doctor 6 times in the last couple years, thought I was safe cuz that penny stayed shiny.

Here's one for ya! I'am sitting at the airport in Vegas and I feel bad about my last night. I ended up with abit too much whiskey and attitude to play anything ,but my pillow.

It is funny because I hate drunk's trying to play and acting a fool.I was admittedly buzzed.but not obnoxious. I just make poor judgement's and it cost me money usually. At any rate I was down $9,000.00 for the week-end. which considering the play I had is not that bad!

But like anyone else I like black ink and not red.So anyone whom has been to LV know's the slots in the airport.I decided to play a few while I digest my breaky and relax prior to our flight.I was watching an older lady play a poker game and it was acting kinda off.
She split and I started.A simple $1,5,10,20 slot and I just put $300 in and started and it was just like it had never stopped when the lady left.As a bump up went to $10 a pop It hit a Royal Natural Flush.

More bell's and noise than I have ever heard in any other slot win's.The top light was flashing and bouncing. The airport manager show's up with armed guard's and i'am escorted to the bowel's of the airport.there I was paid in check $32,000.00.:yahoo::yahoo::clap::thumbsup:

So my luck has intervened again.Sometime's my luck has a very poor outcome. But this is a great end to a fair Vegas week-end.The fight started it all and my luck was poor after the jinx from the fight.it has been fun thou.Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff
