Valentines Day Plans...anyone have any?

Is anyone doing anything special for V-day?

We will be married for 12 years in May, so we don't really do anything special We may get each other cards, or maybe gag gifts, but that's about it. Early on we would have lobster, and give nice presents, etc.

I know some people plan things out weeks or even months in advance.


So, what's everyone doing this year? Staying home, going out, have a great present your giving? For single people, do you go out with the girls/guys? Give an anonymous gift to someone you fancy?

It's a school night so I'll be doing the same as every other school night. Watching TV, and sleeping at a sensible time to get up to take son to school in the morning

A Valentines day- a fond and distant memory of mixed excitement, anticipation and ultimately disappointment- kinda like gambling really .
Seriously I am likely to watch TV and give the cats an extra cuddle!

Since Valentines day falls during the week we will go to dinner with our daughter and spoil her rotton. Then on the weekend, we are spending the night at the local casino so the adults can spoil each other.

As usual, I will be my own valentine. It coincides with Chinese New Year close enough I will buy my annual duck. They go on sale every year for that.

I have enough port left from xmas 2011 to do rare duck breasts with a port and fig reduction. And a nice Shiraz from this year's gifts to wash it down with.

I'll confit the rest of the duck, and later in the week do a rissotto with duck and okra. And have beautiful duck fat to cook potatoes in several times.

Unless lobster is on sale, and I'll just sacrifice one to the garlic butter gods.

I miss my fella, but I don't have to miss out on a special meal.

My husband Jim, draws cartoons for me on special days. He has his own unique style of drawing.

If I can post it, I will...he is so funny with his cartoons.

We have been married for 22 years and he always thinks of me.

We can't afford to do too much, these days.
Always flowers and always a cartoon of me, my girl Annie (Australian Shepherd) and he usually enhances his arm muscles...lol.

I am just glad to have him here, as his heart stopped twice on July8th 2011, he was saved by our local Police Officer D. James, walden, NY......so anything is ok with me.
