US political crisis

I see a slight flaw in Trumps version of events. His stating that he spent in talks for 6 hours with reps from Iran should be brought into question

Imagine allying yourself with israel and thinking you're the good guys

This kid looks like the one shared on X where Israeli soldiers were burning cigarette butts on him in front of his father. I just don’t get that nation at all. Every country has people with fucked up heads, some has more some less, but stuff like this seems to happen all the time there.

There are plenty to be found if you read the first pages of the Israeli thread.

This is the deputy speeker of the Israeli parliament and his wife celebrating the bill to murder imprisoned palestinians-without a right to appeal- just for them being alive. It is a racist and entitled state. Not all because there are decent jews. But when over 80% are zionist it is official. And the world does little to stop it.
Every sovereign country has a right to defend itself and at one point they decided to vote Hamas because they promised to defend that sovereighty. The did not know that Hamas was created by Israel to do their bidding.

It looks like the Orange Cabbage in the White House is going to crash the global economy if this goes on for another few months .

If Trump does not find an out soon-and for now his words seem to be to be just brinkmanship- then the world will seriously suffer. So much so that the world will demand he and Israel stop. It seems to me that this chess game is already lost for Trump. The ego ends with him rushing out his face on dollar bills which Americans would reject when it comes to transactions

Chess requires using your brain . Here's another clip of him tonight . He just cant give his ego a day off.

Reports say the Houthis, the Iran-backed group in Yemen, have now joined the conflict on Iran's side.

They launched their first ballistic missile at Israel and described it as their initial operation in support of Iran, saying more attacks would follow until the aggression ends.

So now Iran has Hezbollah and the Houthis on their side against Israel/US. I wonder how things would look if the Houthis block the Bab el-Mandeb strait. From the looks of it all ships going to or from the Suez Canal must pass through it.

Many reckon option 2 is the solution for the US to get out of the war. Trump anyway tells every day that Iran is already done and the US won the war. Just somehow Hormuz is under Iran's control, their missiles hit Israel and Gulf countries daily, and Hezbollah keeps firing rockets and drones at Israel.

I agree with option 2, but that would only work if there was no Israel.

A ground invasion would require lots of troops and the logistics involved would be massive and take time to get into place.

Russia is fighting in its backyard but that war is what 4 yrs ongoing.

Trump obviously thought or was told there would be an internal uprising, but no matter how much some of the people dislike the Iranian govt, an actual civil war is quite a big step up from that, brother killing brother, no can't see it.

One of the republican politicians said on X that the pentagon/army had recently been advising them ahead of what the next steps would be, and she was not in favour of it at all, and inferred Trump has been misinforming them and the country.

I think he will launch a limited expeditionary force and again hope that either causes a coup or shocks the iran govt into a settlement on his terms, but there's no guarantee it will work, then what does he do, put in 100s of thousands of soldiers, tanks etc...without the other Nato forces helping out either?

From the looks of the US is planning a ground attack, and I saw a video about it on X (see below) before the papers started writing about it. I think it would turn into a disaster if they stepped foot in Iran.

The country is about 7 times the size of the UK, almost entirely mountainous outside the Caspian coast, with hard dry ground or solid rock and constant heat.

Iranians have most likely been preparing for an attack for decades, so they know exactly where an enemy would come from. That means the US would need to do something crazy or unexpected.

Even then, they'd need thousands of troops, probably a similar number just for logistics, and everything well planned.

It doesn't seem like these anti-Trump protest will stop in just a few minutes... There too many protesting now. Reports say over 3,000 events across all 50 US states, with millions expected to take part. Similar “No Kings” stuff is running in other countries as well.
Going by Americas playbook does that mean America needs foreign intervention for regime change , if people are protesting the government on the street

Hormuz is still restricted, and based on FT reports the UK is due to receive its last tanker of jet fuel from the Middle East this week.

I think the UK has some reserves, so planes can keep flying for now. But if Hormuz stays limited for another few weeks, the UK will almost certainly start to see fewer flights and price increases.

Trump say the US will leave the region very soon and that “what happens in Hormuz we'll have nothing to do with.”

Do you reckon this war will end soon? I don't.

He also hints at leaving the UN which will probable fold. I can see a plan where America swallowing up countries in North America,Europe will become as one and Russia/China will merge making global zones.

Its amazing what adults can achieve when they talk to each other, unlike Trump and Co who bombs people during negotiations

This likely came after Russia, China and France blocked the UN push to authorise military force to reopen Hormuz. So Macron confidently went to speak with Iran to let their stuff coming through the strait. Pretty cleaver and beneficial.

Can someone in the WH kick him down the stairs. He's single handedly gonna cause a global financial recession . And to the Americans bombing Iranian schools , universities, power plants etc , you're no different than the nazi soldiers " who were just following "

Those who are trying are likely anti-war, and then get laid off. Look at those US generals. There are certainly people in the US who can think and weigh things realistically, but they get cut off. It just seems like the US is ruled by something. Trump is someone who constantly speaks about himself and some kind of his achievements, even if somethings are pure lies and no matter if the world laughs. It usually goes like I, I, I, and We. People like this don’t like to be put in a corner, they go nuts and become dangerous.

The geopolitical climate has been trending down since January 2025. And it's now at a modern all-time low far beyond that if when Bush was pushing his propaganda. I wonder how much lower it can drop and what the next several months hold in store. Somewhat alarming and now with the way online casinos are conducting themselves these days, it's rarely enjoyable to at least bury my head on the sand. Might have to take up poker again once passed law here in ontario allows us to play without borders again.

Why does Trump care more about a foreign country than America? The US could just sit down, trade their shite with other countries, not tell them what to do, and everybody would have happy days.

Having nukes is a last resort of deterrence against lunatics. No sane country would fire them at others just for fun or out of the blue.
