I remember watching the 1st planet of the apes in the 80s on TV as a youngster, the ending was chilling in terms of the meaning.

Yet now folk are blasé at even the thought of the risks, that's got to make it an even more dangerous time, the complacency as though it could never happen. Also when the whole issue is linked to first strike advantage, which makes your own deterrent largely useless.

I think that Reps prefer to stick to Queensbury rules despite being riddled with Rhino's after their own self interest or being Dem plants.
I don't think American voters are not as easily influenced by media hype as they where after the last election. Covid bollix as well as the emergence of alternative media has woke people up and this is what is scaring the gasslighters into wanting to control online activity.
